extravagant, slender and sharp, axel is quite the sight to behold. blood-soaked and crimson-tipped, one of the most prominent features about him is his vivid, blazing pelt. though a dark yet deep red all over, his colouration varies slightly depending upon different points of his body, with some parts (ie. tail tip, joints, ear points, hair-like protrusions, etc) being lighter or darker than others. despite his gender, axel is quite effeminately-built. with an overall slender frame broadening into wide, curvaceous, almost child-bearing hips, he has often been mistaken for a doe at first glance. despite his long and lean physique, the flurry is quite muscular, able to pack quite the punch or throw a mean kick if need be, with agile legs also suitable for speed.
quite noticeable are axel's spiked, hair-like tufts, which protrude from the top of his head and run the length of his swan-like neck. almost like the spines of an echidna, this 'hair' is quite solid in its overall makeup, the spikes being stubbornly in place. even when wet, after a quick shake, they will bounce back into their original places. axel's eyes are a toxic, intense green, framed by slithers of black markings (almost like eyeliner), with a single inverted dark purple triangle teardrop marking beneath the rim of each eye, proceeding down both of his strongly pretty cheeks. carved into the curve of his right shoulder, just shy of his withers, is a rip-jagged number eight, a mark of his previous rank in the organization, printed out in roman numerals (VIII). crowning his head between slim, pointed ears are two lengthy gazelle spears, needle-points tipping tapered skewer shafts, dangerously sharp and able to pierce most things if need be.

axel is, without a doubt, a very hard-to-read character. bold, spontaneous and somewhat outgoing, this eccentric individual's persona suits his unique appearance far too well. axel attracts attention very easily-an arrangement he rather enjoys. he has a somewhat adult sense of humour and a suggestive demeanour which, teamed with an affinity for flirting and teasing, can lead to interesting results. despite this, though, the flurry gets along extremely well with fawns and the young, and can be quite the 'babysitter', taming his oftentimes inappropriate attitude or, indeed, allowing it to brush swiftly over the heads of his more youthful comrades.
however, it must be kept in mind that axel is quite an accomplished actor, able to manipulate and mislead very effectively-what he seems is, in most cases, not what he actually is. quick-thinking and sharp, he has a mischievous mind and is very intelligent, as well as being highly proficient in regards to evaluating others and their thoughts and motives. at times, he can be cryptic and skilful with his words (for example, he has a tendency to cleverly skirt about the truth to avoid speaking of something he would rather not). cutting wit, cunning charm, and a large sense of drive (when he has a desire for something, he will stop at nothing to get it), teamed with an occasionally volatile temper, make axel extremely dangerous unless you have caught his interest or gained his loyalty. sly and slick, he is certainly no stranger to betrayal and deceit. without a doubt, axel can be very ruthless, 'heartless' even-an accurate term to use, considering his lack of heart which lead to his 'nobody' status. unable to feel made axel a hazardous being in his previous life, and his same absence of heart in this state renders him no more safe, if you ever give him a reason to become a threat. it is difficult to ascertain where exactly his loyalties lie.
regardless of this darker side axel is, largely, a rather likable being. also worth noting is his bond with fire-axel is a pyromaniac and has a nothing short of supernatural power over flames, or 'pyrokinesis', which could give him the upper hand in battle. occasionally he can be seen about, lighting things up just for the entertainment value. his control over fire is tight, the two sharing a blazing tie to one another and, given good reason, it hasn't been uncommon in the past for the flurry to make everything go up in flames. with this in mind, it is no surprise that axel is not at all too fond of water.

A close friend of hers called her something similar. She couldn't help but smile at the moniker.
Still, she was no fool. She would be friendly and playful, but her eyes and ears would always be alert. His stiff seating seemed to be rubbing off on her though, and she flicked her ears, keeping herself busy.
She did that a lot, it seemed.
His little phrase quirk cracked her face again with another smile. She found it hard to keep suppressing them.
Some just bring out the better half of her.
Axel. Nice to meet you. Lacie is my name.
She responds strangely flatly, though her tone was beginning to warm up more. It wasn't that she was rude, per say; she simply found herself standoffish when awkward.
She jerks her shoulders a bit, in what could best be interpreted as a shrug. Her greys glance towards him from under her helm, interested, but equally wary.
I just happened to be caught in a better mood than usual. I had some energy to spare anyway. It usually takes quite a bit to spur me to play.
Her tone returns to a "matter-of-factly" style, as her eyes wander to the crowd in front of them.
Xigbar, Larxene, and a fawn Marluxia. A giggle bubbles up from the back of her throat at the sight of the irritated fawn, the way his Poppies dangled awkwardly between his ears.
Another month, and they'll be dangling from jagged, gorgeous tines.
A hue of gold flickers in her left eye, thoughts churning endlessly; only to remember where she was, and who she was with, exactly.
She shakes her head, freeing herself from her thoughts.
You have quite a talent with that fire of yours.
Sure, it was a rather random thing to say, but anything to keep her from going back inside her thoughts was good enough.
(I recommend getting the entire CD actually. It's one of those rare CDs in which I can't find a song that I don't like. And if you do, I'd also recommend Drifting, Art of Motion, Practice is Perfect, and When She Cries. Those are some very good pieces as well &hearts And, you're writing is awesome, I was smiling the whole time I was reading it! &hearts)

Really, the days were starting to wear on him... the demonic, multi-limbed stag tracking along through the forest and grumbling silently to himself. To many, it would seem awkward for any deer to be tracking about in what the stag was in... heavy... but gorgeous robes. The boarders of the collar embroidered with Golden designs, Celtic Knots in style as they flowed along the sleeves and the entirety of the black silk that covered his form.
What would likely catch notice for anyone however was that those curved antlers were ablaze with flames. The crackling and snickering in the air as they wafted through the gentle breezes that would slowly blow along. That however was not the only thing aflame as from between orange furred brows was the mass of flames that erupted up in a blaze of glory above his head, flickering and carrying down to the back of his head where it dove off into a brilliant, bright orange silky hair that dangled along the entire side of his neck and hung down almost towards the forest floor.
Bangs drifted up from the side of his face, a few little rooster tails hanging up towards where hair melded with fire. And slowly those blazing, orange and yellow eyes would drift to a side where he would look towards anyone whom would come towards him to give him a greeting. The delicate markings of his face shining for a moment before his head would slip and he'd shake it some in boredom before laying down in one of the bright sunbeams. A heavy sigh erupting upwards from his lips as he closed those eyes of his... his body was still in turmoil from traveling from the Grand City of Melekure in hell to this place "Just a couple more days... and I should be able to walk without putting myself in pain..." The stag mumbled, not really paying attention should anyone be around to hear his voice.

The voice was surprisingly strong. Young, but sturdy. It was as if he had been speaking this whole time. Ryuu stared at Axel in a way that perhaps was wiser than his few days should have allowed, waiting for The Flurry's attention to focus onto him.
