Not a deer, but a star that has fallen and taken the shape of one.
Recognized as male.
Not living, but very much alive and capable of death.
Young as stars go and a bit naive.
Untrusting of most, fears capture and avoids touch.
Still learning the habits and mannerisms of deer. Might not understand some body language.
Recently learned how to dance, but prefers to do so alone.
Likes children, but doesn't always understand them.
Hasn't yet grasped complex emotions.
You can't harm him... unless you catch him. Very few can keep up.
Runs. A lot.
Currently only shows physical affection towards one deer, an unnamed fawn.
May be seen around a creature known as Daruma.
He is friendly, but flighty. Don't expect him to sit for long.
When he is red, he has cooled for dormancy. Does not rest for long or very often. Vulnerable.
Often found high in trees. Likes elevated places.
Will chase and flee from deer in play. Flight is also done out of fear.
Visits the pond frequently.
May be considered vain, but he's a star and very aware of his beauty.
Sits in sunbeams.
Speaks with a strained, but gentle voice. See movie for more voice samples.
Has his own grade of wisdom.
Will likely outlive most deer in the forest; lifespan could be millions-billions of years.
Highly curious.
Sits still for longer periods if he feels safe.
Not fond of spells, but may cast them, anyway.
Does not eat.
Less inclined to run from approaching fawns.
I'm tracking this, he seems
I may look like a deer, but

He sighs. I have not. It must be...terrible. His brown eyes study the other.
"It is." The Beast murmured
"They explode and while it looks, at a great distance, glorious...it is an unpleasant, unkind fate. They devour themselves out of fear." The fires of his eyes hissed and guttered in the rain, steam and smoke pouring out of his head.
"But there are worst ways to go." He surmised quietly, even as all those small stars shivered.
"Much worse."

The nameless deer nods,
He shakes his head, clearing his thoughts. Well, welcome then, young one. I do hope you will accept my company if I should find you.
Lazily, his head inclined,

I would love to..." She settles down, waiting.
Oh, yes, very. Everything
The sky is vast and beautiful, just as you know it to be, but much more. It is very easy to take for granted, too. Without it, there would be no stars or clouds or birds to fill it with, would there? It seems even more grand from down here! My brothers and sisters are so small...
"Oooh. Like the stars for
That sounds so beautiful. Does the earth even compare...?" She sighs, lowering her head, then looks up. "Do you miss them?"
Why compare? Things are too
... yes. I do. Stars belong with stars, you know.
"True. It's all beautiful.
"I'm sorry...I hope you get back up there someday." She looks up at the tiny pinpoints of light. How strange that one was in front of her.

Seems like a waste of something so beautiful.

Stars are meant to be seen!
A chuckle, and a true hope
Few words had been spoken before more true than that stars are meant to be seen.
No, I don't think they will. Earnestly said, a nod.
A smile.
There is one... He carries
He carries them, brothers and sisters, in grand horns that stretch high into the sky. Should I be caught, what would my life be?
"Oh, I do deeply apologize if
But I hope you could understand I was running with you, not so much chasing.
Are you shy?
Beautiful things are often shy...
I could tell you were running

I don't need your apology,

"I hope to someday see you within the forest! Perhaps it is time for this girl to go back to wishing upon the stars.."
I hope your wishes find you,
A frown, a rare occurrence.
It is not my place to say.
I will say, though... The smile returns. Had it really left? All shall go well whilst you shine.
Now, it chided playfully. You said you don't take to staying still too long. You don't mind company in moving forward. I will join you, when the time calls for it.
It is very quiet. The absence of even that whispered voice and the billions of tones that lie beneath it was felt when it was quiet, but maybe that wasn't a surprise after all.
(No subject)
"Thank you, kind one. I do
What a morbidly fitting
I like to see others run with me! I don't tire like you do, though. I may stop and sit, but I will soon be moving again.
"So... that was not a dream.
I may visit again, if you
Perhaps you'll see me.
Beautiful, I'm tracking this.
