Morto ponders the question

Morto ponders the question before responding with "On a regular day I usually spend time lurking around the forest. Sometimes just relaxing, sometimes seeing new faces."

"Oh, that sounds rather

"Oh, that sounds rather cool." I said with a smile. Out of curiosity, I wanted to know if he had supernatural abilities, as I knew that the Forest was a magical place and that most of the inhabitants had some. "So, hum...do you have any magical powers?" I asked. "Sorry for the question, but I am just curious. I saw many creatures around here using magic."

"Uh..." he pauses to think

"Uh..." he pauses to think about this. "I'm not sure.. Maybe? I've never tried to use magic before." Morto was always fond of the idea of magic, but never quit mastered it himself. "The others here, though, they can.

"Me too!" I exclaimed,

"Me too!" I exclaimed, smiling. "Look!" I focused to lift the lantern using my small - still growning - antlers, but quickly dropped it as I was not powerful enough. My magic was just beginning to arise. "Well... I guess I am still too young for that." I said. "But I can do something with it, at least."

"Oh! That's better than

"Oh! That's better than anything I could do." he said with a small laugh. "I'm sure your magic will be very strong someday."

I kept the lantern close to me. "Surely." I replied. "But for now, I am going to practice the weak I have."

I looked around before standing up. The fireflies were still above the patches of flowers but the walls and the collapsed building were still making the place even darker. "Do you mind if we walk for a bit?" I asked Morto. "The Forest is really beautiful tonight, so why not wandering around?"

He rises to his feet,

He rises to his feet, agreeing. "Yeah, sure. Let's go." he says, taking a few steps out of the deteriorating walls and into the gorgeous, dark forest. "Want to lead the way? I don't mind." Morto says from right outside.

I took the lantern in my mouth and followed him. "No, thank you. You know the Forest better than I do. Even if I was born there. You shall be my guide for tonight!" I said the last sentence loudly in a manner of determination before I lowered my head along with my ears and tail, realizing it. "I-if you want to..." I added to not make it look like it was an affirmation or an order and not a choice, feeling a little embarrassed.

"Alright. This way I

"Alright. This way I suppose?" he says starting to walk in the direction of the Playground. Morto shrugged off their somewhat demanding tone, understanding there was no bad intentions. As they walked, he gazed at the sights of the dark Forest with big, red eyes. The goat was glad to see bats swooping about. "The forest seems pretty lively at night, doesn't it?" he remarked, seeing nocturnal creatures all about.

I kept following the goat,

I kept following the goat, holding the lantern in my mouth. I stayed close to him, almost at his level. I looked around us to watch the Forest. Suddenly, I felt the wind strongly rising in our direction, threatening to take away the leaves of the trees. For a brief moment, I got scared. But I quickly felt safe with Morto as I was walking closer to his side. His unatural features led me to think that he could protect me in case of danger. Just when he was remarking, I looked around once again to see the bats and the fireflies, as well as some creatures - deers, canines, rabbits and such - in the distance. I smiled.

"Yes. Yes, it does."

He detected slight fear from

He detected slight fear from Arkœrova in her body language, so he kept his tone steady and calm. "I love seeing the already magical Forest like this." He walked like any regular goat would, except his long tail swayed slightly behind him. His entire demeanor was calm, and relaxed, being very comfortable in Arkœrova's presence. Morto smiled at the sight of the bats continuing to fly about.

"Me too." I responded. I was

"Me too." I responded. I was starting to relax, glaring at the moon and the stars up in the sky. They reminded me of a conversation I had earlier the day with Stareyes. "Morto?" I started to say. "Do you...believe in wishes and dreams?" I was not really sure of why I asked. Probably because of the chat with Stareyes. I was curious of how many were still having faith in those things.

Morto pondered for a moment

Morto pondered for a moment before giving his response. "Yes. For some, yes. I mean.. I haven't given it much thought, as I don't have any particular ones for myself. But for others, I believe it's possible." he did not question the reason behind her asking the question, though he was alright with questions such as that, or anything else which would be seemingly out of the blue.

"Oh..." I was kind of

"Oh..." I was kind of disappointed by the answer, yet I understood. Many would have such faiths when they would be desperate. This was my point of view. I used to believe in those things. Would I ever believe them again one day? Perhaps not.

The Playground was now in sight. Or at least, we could make out the shape of the rocks in the dark. I headed first to the biggest rock and put down the lantern before looking up to the sky. Shining stars. And a beautiful pure full moon.

"Look at this." I whispered, more to me then to Morto. "It's so beautiful."

(( what colour is Arkœrova's

(( what colour is Arkœrova's hair and tiny antlers?? im drawing a thing ))

The goat climbed on top the largest rock. Upon hearing Arkœrova's words he looked up, his ears pointed upwards. "They're so bright!" he says staring at the sky. Morto then sat down on the rock, folding his legs under his body.

I grinned and chuckled. Stars were one of the things that I loved the most. Sometimes, I wished I could fly up there and touch one.

After a long while, a whisper came to me. My Creator was awaiting me.

"Well..." I began to speak while getting up. "I have to go now. Thank you for the company, I liked spending some time with you. Hopefully we will mean very soon."

I smiled and said goodbye before leaving to a quiet spot to lay down. I closed my eyes as I was falling asleep, I left the Forest from within a black smoke.

(( late response whoopS. But

(( late response whoopS. But yeah, that's fine! c: ))

Morto smiled back at the creature and nodded. "You're welcome. I will keep an eye out for you in the future." The goat caught a glimpse of the black smoke that Arkœrova disappeared in, but he did not question it, as it did not occur to him. He then stared his way back towards the Ruins.
