MEANWHILE, in hell..

The exterior

No one species, is a combination of countless creatures - mostly notably deer, horse, snake, and fox, in that particular order. Devoid of a typical nose, has two thin nostrils along a long, slender muzzle. Pupils are black and thin - cat-like, surrounded by vibrant cyan irises, which are in turn backed by deep black scleras. Mouth is cyan in flesh, home to a long, slender, (usually) sheathed forked tongue and a number of jagged teeth. Primarily carnivorous, has a set of eight molars - four on each side, two on the top and two on the bottom jaw - for plants and fruits, etc. Primary teeth are meant for hooking, gripping, and tearing into flesh and muscle. If damaged - broken or otherwise removed - reserve teeth will push down through the gum line to replace them. Has two piercings on his lower lip ("snake bites") and a single on the fork in his tongue. Undetermined amounts in his large, fox-like ears - switches them out often. Always wears silver metal.

Front hooves are typical deer hooves - cloven without any particular features to speak of. Hind hooves are horse-like, minus the split and covered in light feathering like heavier draft breeds. Tail is also reminiscent of his equine genes, as is essentially his entire hind end. Overall build is very thin, slender, and athletic, built for speed and agility. Surprisingly fleet for a creature his size, and is always quick on his feet. Has a very thick forelock that tends to sweep down his muzzle and over one side of his face, usually the right. It tapers off quickly into short, jagged, upright "hair" along the back of his neck that cuts out entirely a few inches above his shoulders.

Inner workings and origins

Forged in the hell of his home world by the devils Mephisto and Lucifer; the princes of Lust and Pride respectively. Took after Lust as his primary sin, and developed into an Incubus. Was raised by Mephisto and charged with the duty of escorting souls to heaven or hell based on their purity. At the time, the princes were still attempting to maintain tolerance between themselves and the council of Archangels in heaven above. Would soon command an immense network of psychopomps, ensuring that souls reached their final destinations correctly as the Earth took shape and function.

As such, has been in existence since nearly the dawn of time itself. Capable of sensing the souls of the departed, and those soon to be - drawn to them in an almost hypnotic sense. However, contrary to popular belief, is rarely able to predict when the death of any one individual may take place.

His recent re-introduction to a social scene has awakened previously dormant emotions in him, such as sympathy, (sometimes false) empathy, and similar feelings. While he will always be rather desensitized to death and all that surrounds it due to his charge and experience, his new relationships with mortals have softened him to the ideas of mourning. After losing a child of his own, began to view it in another light entirely. Having surrounded himself with immortals and ageless creatures, had very rarely - if ever - experienced a death on a personal level until having stumbled into the forest. Views it as the source of an extreme breakdown, upon which, he took a leave of absence in order to repair the damage that had been caused both to himself and to those around him.

After the murder of Mephisto by Lucifer in an attempt to rise to power over the remaining princes, inherited his father's estate. Took over his role in hell briefly for a sum of three years or so while a suitable replacement was trained and settled in. Had little time to think while playing double duty, and during this time, embraced more of the Lust in him that had laid quietly in his subconscious in order to fulfill the tasks that would have otherwise been under the control of his late father. Returned to his role as the Harbinger of Death for his home world once the new prince of Lust was situated properly.

These days, spends an equal amount of time in and out of the forest.

Genetics

Mephisto † - The former prince of Lust in the hell of their home world. First father, deceased.

Lucifer - The prince of Pride in the hell of their home world. Second father, disowned - murderer of Mephisto. Ascended to rule over hell.


Family

Harlequinn ♥ - "Harley", "Harlesquid". The doe for whom his first son was named. During her initial death, buried her at the tree that would come to be the home of Pandora, Malikorin, and their children, and then others after them. Held onto the little skull mask she wore, wearing it around his neck for some years. When she returned in another form - along with her first son, a little fennec fox cub named Flint - he returned the mask to her and became something of a father to her child. A complicated relationship of complex and conflicted feelings, nothing short of an emotional roller coaster. In the end, bound himself to her and claimed her as his mate. Adored endlessly.

Harley - Blood son from Leviathann, adored.

Amelia - Blood daughter from Leviathann, adored.

Capulet - Blood son from Emdeaur, allied in the hell of their home world. Adored.

Sabastien - Blood son, allied in the hell of their home world. Adored.

Serum - Blood son, allied in the hell of their home world. Adored.

Adele † - Blood daughter, stillborn 13/04/2012.

June - Grand-daughter through Amelia. Thinks she is the result of a rape by Thane, but could never bring himself to blame her for it. Adored.

Honeyfur - Adopted sister, gone. Missed dearly, will always hold a special place in his heart.

Phobos - Adopted brother, gone. Missed dearly, will always hold a special place in his heart.


Allies

Umay - Once viewed as a sister, his closest remaining relationship. Silently harbors a deep-rooted lust for the lioness, but has never acted on it nor intended to. Greatly admired and respected, very affectionate towards on a platonic level.

North - Associated with Umay, viewed as a friend. There's room to grow in this relationship. Wishes to know more, given that they've spent very little time in each other's company.

Jorogumo - A close friend, once held affections for. Gone, missed dearly.

Leviathann - An ex-lover, subtle affections remain and will always lay dormant for the doe.

Inali - An old friend, held affections for some time ago. Fond of her to this day, in spite of her scarceness.

Evelys - Had been the cause of the death of her mother, Evania. In spite of this, had grown close to her and once shared her company quite regularly. Viewed somewhat similar to a sister or daughter, a paternal feeling that sustained itself deeply no matter how she matured. Adored and missed dearly.

Lume † - Ex-mate of Umay and the father of many of her children. Was once very close with and adored. Deceased, missed dearly.

Shay - Daughter of Umay and Plague, very fond of. Quick to seek her company when present. Viewed as a charge of sorts.

Rui - First son of Umay and Lume. Views as a charge of sorts. Adores, gone? Missed dearly.

Kody - Once was much like a brother to him. Still loved and adored to this very day, missed dearly.

Shineri - Once was much like a sister to him. Still loved and adored to this very day, missed dearly.

Seth - Son of Kody and Shineri. Fond of in spite of his scarceness, and viewed as a charge of sorts.

Jahi - Daughter of Lume and Umay. Views as a charge of sorts. Adores, and would protect at all costs.

Solei - Daughter of Lume and Umay. Viewed as a charge of sorts, adored and would protect at all costs. Deceased.

Rojan - Son of Lume and Umay. Views as a charge of sorts. Adores, and would protect at all costs.

Aurora - Associated with Kody. Fond of, views the doe as a friend and would like to see them grow a bit closer, fate permitting.


Recognized

Illrose - A friendship that has since faded, but he retains fondness for the doe. Friendly around.

Dampir - A friendship that has since faded, but he retains his fondness for the stag. Friendly around.

Ryuu - An old friend, slightly distant but always thrilled to see. Missed, scarce.

Alani - A familiar face with promise. Curious about, would like to know better.

Lats'vel - A friend of Umay's. Met on the battlefield some years back. Curious, albeit a bit unsure of.

Thane - Despised. Once an adopted nephew, now disowned. Under the false impression that Thane raped his daughter, Amelia. Endless hate and fury towards.

Akuji - Once a fierce enemy, now only bitter memories and lucid nightmares. Once wished death upon the beast, and relishes his - and many others' - desires made reality.
