DisclaimerThe Child is not in the game yet. This blog is driven purely by written interaction at this time. This interaction will decide if she ever emerges.
Content will contain gore, violence, and explicit language.
xThe Child is not immortal.
Arrived by the swift blade of Denial.
A starving soul.
Immune to neither the snap of frost nor bite of hunger.
Her fate is in the hands of all who may pass her by.

The Den is dug deep and narrow under the twisting roots of a tree. Tunneling steadily down. A stench of mildew and decay greet a sensitive nose. The stench of Dog, of Deer, and of Man. To the keen ears, small, raspy breaths. A shallow whine of worry. To the keenest of eyes, the faintest glimmer of two small, peering eyes staring back from the dark tunnel.
Despite any ray from the sun, the tunnel gives only wet, sharp cold. Nothing larger than a rabbit may fit down the tunnel. Too long for arms, and claws. This is the Child's only defense.
What will you do?

Acacia. Brought her first food - blueberries. Remembers by scent.
Red Eyes. Intimidating and huge. Seems to want to help. Finds comfort in his strange language. Remembers by voice and eyes.

How about physical interactions like this?
perfect! A note here though,
If the young one sat back long enough, and had the ears to hear the nearly silent movement from within, she could detect the light movement of the Child. Though for nary a moment, and the berries would be gone, along with the scuffle of feet, claiming the prize deeper into the tunnel.
RED EYES peer hard in the
"?¶¶®¢…œ?†…µ±÷?ß?" he asks something, one can tell by the tone, but it's utter gibberish. To forest things, anyway. He suddenly shoves his snout into the tunnel, big nostrils flaring as he snuffles about for the little creature. Probably not the wisest decision to go snout-first into a hole one doesn't know the contents of, but his focus is largely on finding out what the little thing is.
After a moment's sniffing, the snout is removed, and replaced with a two-toed foot scraping slightly at the entrance. Perhaps if he could get a bit more space...
[If you don't mind much, I'd like to keep this RP separate from others since I think it will get a bit cluttered if 5+ characters are cluttered around the same hole in the ground. Rose... is going to get smacked, probably.]
Yay! Acacia will be happy to
Acacia will be happy to see the berries gone.
Yes, I'm thinking just small little interactions here and there rather than full roleplay, as far as Acacia is concerned. She's fascinated by anything younger than herself, as she's only a month old. It's like a little game to her to leave the berries and find them gone.
thelittleraven - not to
A small squeal, and wide eyes from the Child at the sudden loud. The intrusion of even such few digits. A clueless, fearful stare. Luckily, or perhaps not, the hole was long, deep under the very heart of the tree. Thick, ancient roots about the entryway - and if he were so determined, several days' digging past that.
By the slight shine of eyes, the head would tip side to side, clueless as to the words. Curious. But not yet strong enough to emerge from the makeshift womb that housed her.
acacia - Haha! That's where most of my muse is, unless something large strikes me, rarely.
Though I don't plan to let her out too soon - and no full glimpses for anyone. :> This is to develop my own patience~
I haven't written anything for quite some time.. Hope it is worth reading <3
Oh I am quite enjoying this.
Acacia will probably be bringing the babu some other food things to see what else it will take, haha. Of course she doesn't realize it's a baby. Being small herself, I'm thinking her idea of it is that something is stuck under there, so she has to keep it alive. Oh the mind of children.
acacia - The minds of
Bedtime for me now though - will reply to whatever comes after later on~
Thanks!! -Acacia returns,
-Acacia returns, delighted to see the blueberries gone. She sniffs around the opening a little, knowing -something- is down there. Should she tell an adult? Bring someone to help it? Nope! The little purple fawn trots off to a nearby tree, ripping some mushrooms off the bark. She brings them back and places them at the opening. She then noses them roughly, sending them tumbling down a ways into the tunnel. Backing off, she hides in some nearby brush to listen for any movement.-
There's a few more fruitless
"?÷‘?¡?????©ƒåµ®¶–$¿?..." The snout leaves the burrow for a moment, and keen little ears could pick up on something like a rustle. After a few moments, some sort of shriveled, dry fruitish thing rolls into the tunnel, stopping within the red thing's reach. He gives some sort of dissatisfied grunt and then a hard straining sound as his arm, long and slender like that of a horse, stretches itself to nudge the fruit over the bump it's caught on. He succeeds, and the fruit which actually looks a bit like a fat flower petal, manages to make it close to the little creature within. The sinewy arm retreats again, then one big, round eye rests at the mouth of the burrow, trying to watch for the little thing.
"??¢™•‰ß... ??¢™•‰ß..." He makes more strange sounds in a softer tone, gentle and somewhat soothing. The big eye looks friendly enough. Not overly predatory or intense, merely curious, with a little round black pupil darting about to hunt for movement. Certainly huge, however; the small thing in the den could baffle about the giant outside. But it seems he's a patient giant, and not planning on leaving so soon.
[Excellent! Also, I hope the symbol speak isn't unbearably annoying. ;_; ]
acacia - LOL "Nope!" Only
Only the steady flow of mildew and other general decay would meet the curious fawn's nose yet again - perhaps the faint smell of something burnt? A small whine to follow after the receding fawn the first time - but more questioning than anything else. Viewing the outside world through such a narrow window, so out of reach, certainly gave her a different perspective.
Once Acacia had returned, the Child would be still and listen, watching that curious window. As the mushrooms would be dropped, and pushed to tumble down into the tunnel, the Child would jump back - a scramble potentially observed by the fawn's seeking ears. They certainly were like radars, after all.
After the Child has convinced herself, with much arm-raised batting of the mysterious food, she would determine quite quickly it's purpose. Several delighted whimpers later, she would be hauling the large things deeper into her tunnel, and by the scuffle, was working on ripping them into smaller chunks to be eaten.
thelittleraven - nooo not at all! It's a wonderful touch, honestly. <3
Intensely aware of the strange presence at her door now, she would creep the slightest bit closer. Still only two wide orbs in the darkness, however, which occasionally drift backwards when startled or uneasy. Ducking at the strange voice of the being, though she had not heard much of any spoken language so far. Inquisitive, she would begin to creep a bit further..if not for the sudden surprise of fruit which would send her jumping back with a startled squeak.
The fear would be short lived indeed as the creature would send it the rest of the way, replaced with happiness and thankful squeaking as she would seem to drag it farther back into the tunnel. By the noises, she would try to bury it. By the shortness of the noise, she didn't try very hard. Instead, a small scuffle, and the eyes would again be visible - with an excited, questioning whine to follow.
The giant makes a startled
The fruit itself is quite plain, coloured a sort of browned pinkish hue in the dark tunnel, and a little spongy. It's wrinkly and velvety to touch, and smells... like an intensified version of the outside air, which our noses would call quite floral. It has another smell that our noses don't really understand, but to a weak young soul, it's incredibly appetising. The outside giant seems to have a good knack for what a little growing body needs, or perhaps he's just lucky.
"¥«®™¢?÷÷??–µ‘‰?!" He coos encouragingly down the tunnel, and his eyes squint up and his nose wrinkles in a smile. The giant then says, slowly, "Hei Tytha ruuna tyn, Muuod. To ruuna ty!"
He's addressing her gently, and he giggles at the end. Muuod. It's not the most creative name, but he decides it will do for now. Then he backs away from the tunnel, and those strange front feet tap the ground just outside. He wants to see if he can get her to come out, if only a little.
[Ahh, I'm so glad! The proper bit he said basically means 'My soul sees yours, Muuod. I see you!' The first bit is pretty much his peoples' way of greeting new faces. And 'Muuod' means small-one. The Child won't know, of course, but I thought I'd give you a little snippet! I'm really enjoying this. <3]
Sorry mine get so
Unaware of the new name, the Child would be far too preoccupied investigating the curious new fruit. Trusting the larger creature, as dangerous as this could be had he bad intentions, she noses it abruptly. She bats it around within the tunnel - by the sound of it at least. Moments later, she would sink her teeth into it eagerly - chirps sent just as eagerly in thanks, or perhaps excitement.
Ears pricked, and eyes still lingering on the entrance even as she tore into the fruit. She would pause in her - quite loud - chomping at his speech once again. Yet unknowing it is supposed to have meaning other than the emotion given by the tone, she would give a purring chirp towards the generous giant up above.
[Oh no, feel better soon!
Red hears her little squeaks and makes a short humming noise, so deep the ground vibrates slightly. The fruit is perfectly harmless with a mildly flowery, mostly sugary taste. Pleased to hear her eating, he turns his head away from the tunnel and rustles about again. Surely he can make that burrow a bit more homely. It's not very nice to just sleep in the dirt, he thinks. As she acknowledges him again, he gently pushes what seems like a sash or scarf into her den. It looks like something woven, but the fabric is soft and lightweight. In the light from the mouth of the tunnel, it seems to be white with red patterns. Something to keep her warm in the encroaching autumn. He doesn't mind parting with it.
With his final gift stashed safely in the den, the red giant nods and babbles to himself for a moment. The Child can hear him heft himself to his feet and see those claws just outside until he lowers his nose down and says, "®åå–†ç??‰“µ«?»œ, Muuod. ?¢?¥±–?ç†÷¥“?±?."
His teeth are sharp looking and shiny black when he smiles, but the face still seems a bit silly with the way his nose crinkles. With that, however, he hums some more and walks away, off to find a good place for himself to rest. He won't be far.
If the child had developed
Right after, there would be silence. A moment of pondering, perhaps, of nothing but the breeze outside, and then a big black nose would be carefully inserted in the burrow, flaring to better understand the scent that's brought him here in the first place. However, he understands nothing apart from the smell of humid earth. Some form of a sad expression could be observe in the movement of their muzzle, and he hums again, very slowly taking it away, maybe too confident - in general - of shoving their nose in unknown places. Alas, the stag cared too much about whatever life was in there that smelled nothing like the normal wildlife.
".What are you, tiny thing..?" comes from the new deer, followed by the very soft, much more careful stepping they were using to walk around the area for a bit. Yet another hum, followed closely by a delighted "Aha!" and the sounds of bushes being messed with, as well as some twigs snapping.
A few seconds later, the child may notice a few small raspberries getting thrown into the den, as well as a handful of fallen leaves being placesd in the first bits of the tunnel. The voice would come again, soft and somewhat excited - "Here you are." and then, without waiting to look if they are taken or interacted with in any way, the vibration of steps would start walking around a moment again - seemingly looking for something else.
(Ahhh I'm sorry if I'm very bad but tHE CHILD. THE CHILDDD. I HAD TO. ;^; Also my text refueses to color for some reason, will fix that soon)

Sorry for the late reply, you
thelittleraven - Chirps continuing in a long line between her chewing the fruit down to it's center, though seeing as nothing seemed to be taking her food from her, her two reflective eyes would again reappear from the darkness below. A bit closer this time, if faintly so.
Drifting back in the darkness at the sudden movement at the entrance once again, she would give her own squeaky 'rumble', mimicking the Red Eyed giant above. Waiting for the sash to get close enough to grab without getting too close to the light, two white, hairless, otter-like paws drag the fabric down into the tunnel.
A trilling purr as she would trot back into seclusion, dragging the scarf along after her. Certainly it was a beautiful piece - but lost to her eyes in the darkness.. Unfortunately it would not see the light for a long, long time yet.
That familiar noise of a word again. Following the giant's babble, the child would send her own nonsense back. Not words, though possibly mimicking the patterns of words. Yet to know the tone of a question, a small whine would pierce the darkness as the noise of the giant would drift away. Unbeknownst to her, not far.

A shrill white greets the buck. Having quickly learned that nothing but gifts can join her in her tunnel, she would creep forward curiously. Even as the muzzle would intrude, the shine of her eyes would be visible, though not as close as she has come to others before.
Words. By the shine of her eyes, the head would duck. A curious movement. Understanding nothing, but giving a odd noise with the same rise and fall of the question in return.
Always curious, her eyes never leave the entrance even as he would leave. As he returned and even more gifts were pushed through to her, she inches forward. Although at the time, unable to come very far up the last half of the tunnel itself - the slope much too steep for her just yet. As such, she simply waits.
aquilo - Thank you! <3

The noises in reply to the
He was aware seasons were going colder, it would soon start raining and even snowing more. The little thing wouldn't have that big a chance as it was now. (Although the stag is unaware of the Red Giant's scarf gift, at the time.)
At the end of said search, the hooves would come close again and something would be placed over the hole bit by bit - there would be the sound of twigs and branches snapping and rubbing together, maybe even the rustling of leaves. The buckwould work on it for quite a while, until he would lay down in front of the entrance and whatever he did.
I hope this helps you, a bit. It's going to get rainy and cold soon. I'll do more as soon as I can..maybe find you a blanket. " possibly unseen to the small one, he smiles. "And it hopefully won't ruin your hiding."
Now, the den would have a new feature - removable enough in case sunshine needs to get inside, propped on mounds of dirt or roots of the tree, the buck had made a makeshift 'roof' a few inches off the ground above the hole. In two layers of twigs and two of leaves, camouflaged by the fallen leaves around, it would offer protection from rain and snow, or so Zadda had hoped. He'd probably watch the structure a while, just in case it needs removed and does more bad than good.
Still, he lays there a while, wondering what else he could do. Furthermore, another few berries would make their way down the den's tunnel.
(Really hoping this won't hurt the child ;^; )
