New way to improve framerate?

I recently was having trouble with my cursor disappearing behind my Chrome window in Windows 8 on my touchscreen laptop. Today I found out that disabling the hardware acceleration ( settings > advanced settings > uncheck box for 'use hardware acceleration when available' ) solved the issue. I then logged in to the forest in windowed mode and found that my framerate was 10fps higher no matter where I was.

Not sure if it works, but I think it may be correlated.

Just thought I would share.

Hardware acceleration on

Hardware acceleration on Chrome? I am not sure if it effects the game at all but it does not hurt to try at least because the fps is always stuck in 17-20 frames... I feel it might help when both programs are running at the same time, but lately we are finding weird ways to fix performance issues with TEF...

Hardware acceleration means to use your computer's gpu to enhance performance overall for that program.

Right, which is why I think

Right, which is why I think it helps to improve framerate in TEF when running in windowed mode. Most users running in windowed mode also browse the internet at the same time.
