Mates/Lovers at first sight?

Is there such a thing in the forest?

I don't think so. I believe spending time with someone and knowing them for quite a while only lays the first stone on the building (:

But, what do you think?

No one will be bashed or hated or thought wrongly of just because of their opinion, so please don't be afraid to post.

I do believe in love at first

I do believe in love at first sight. As in real life as in TEF.
I do not believe in mates/lovers at first sight. It's quite different to me <3..

I believe in love at first meeting, not first sight.
For how can you love someone you have not met? That is just my opinion.

I believe true love/relationships come awhile after.
TEF and real life.

Ah! But that's quite

Ah! But that's quite different! No, I believe it is impossible to have a meaningfull relationship with anyone/any deer without building it up. You can love at first sight, but that does not make you a working couple yet.
But I guess that is more an annoyance as a philosophy, right? There have been alot of people who "mate" their deer with the first "doe" or "stag" they meet. It has annoyed me, but if that is how they want to play, I won't bother them.

While I do not entirely

While I do not entirely believe in love at first sight, I do believe that there is a certain "click" that happens when players meet. Then they begin to converse with each other more, and then it turns into either love or a solid friendship.

Edit; Oh, my apologies, I thought we were talking about the players. As far as a characters go...I would have to say the same.

I go with the "love at first site" it just seems more romantic then just picking a random doe/stag.

Mates at first sight? no.

Mates at first sight? no. Love at first sight? No.
But, on the first meeting, chemistry, which can be used to build a lot of things. When Seed met Nevilly, I knew there was going to be a bond of some sort.

I believe in a certain

I believe in a certain attraction to someone during your first meeting, but love at first sight? No.
I feel the same applies to the forest, I don't think you can meet someone and just say, "We maytes fo' lyfe nao."

Relationships are difficult and usually take time in the real world, why not in the forest? (:

I believe in "crush from first meeting". It doesn't mean love will come of it; it means there is an attraction.
Love at first sight doesn't really work in TEF because, despite spells, we all look the same anyway.

So...love at first:
Sight? No.
Interaction? Maybe.

Mates after first sight or first meeting?
No way.
Unless the first time you meet is extremely long and you get to understand the other deer's personality completely. Get to meet many of their friends/see who they hang out with and get to know them too.

A mate should be as close as a best friend first. Otherwise, being together will be extremely awkward.


What some people fail to understand, I think, is that becoming mates is equivalent to getting married. It's not dating. Dating is more temporary/easier to end. It's not permanent like marriage/becoming mates.
Unless you're going for realistic deer behavior, which most people don't seem to.



And wow, did I type too much. Sorry about that. XD; I hope I was clear in what I think at least.

it's difficult to describe

it's difficult to describe what i believe.

I believe that there a few people in the world, who are just right for you, and when you see that person, or one of those people you know....so i suppose...yes i believe in love at first sight, and i think that can happen with characters as well.

Well.... I believe that there can be connection at first sight (like that 'click' you're mentioning). However, I also believe that it can't be love until the two get familiar with each other ^-^ Comfortable doing whatever and understanding everything they do.

Well I guess it's possible, either virtually or in real life. I think each person has a sort of energy that gets attracted by one's another energy and it just... happens. Even if it's not mutual or the right relationship. On the other hand it can be mainly physical attraction and the psychological side can be just interpreted by intuition. So... yeah, try to understand my opinion at the same time I try too bwahaha. (I'm kinda trying to convince myself / try to explore my true point of view )

I do believe in it, only because Quad and Mazey kept running into each other and eventually decided to become mates.

I'm just a little nervous that people are going to see Quad and be like "OMGYOU'REMYMATE!!" and he replies with "...I have a mate already..."

I really miss Mazey too

Nah, ours wasn't the very

Nah, ours wasn't the very very first time. It was more like the 4th or 5th time we ran into each other and later she posted her feelings on here. It was kind of funny because I was curious about someone else (turned out they consider their deer to be male, which I had no idea), so that was the "he is torn between me and another" part, but in the comments it really happened.

I guess this really wasn't "Love at first sight", more like "Love after meeting over and over".
