lazy updates sob but I'm glad I'm actually updating a character for once

Woke up without falling snow, and was immensely relieved. Soon joined by Esll, whose company helped alleviate some of the heavy weight of his negativity the night before, which he appreciated even though he was fairly certain Esll wasn't aware of the positive effect of his presence. Dared to fall asleep in the hopes of not having a nightmare, and when he awoke, the Monarch had been replaced by a small Latch. Glad to see the youth, and shuffled closer. Learned his name, and exchanged words that left Malikorin feeling considerably better. Grateful for it.

Later Esll returned, and then Noelle joined them. It was clear to the monochrome stag that things were not how they once were - although sitting with both the green-eyed doe and the Monarch in peace had never been something Malik imagined would happen, he inwardly shrugged - where he once might have attempted to figure out the source of it, now was perfectly content with moving forward with how things were.

A couple trolls appeared and bothered Esll - at first did little, hoping the lack of action would bore the invaders, but they drove Esll off and Malikorin thought it would be best to aid him, so pursued them. Eventually lured the remaining stranger away from Esll, Noelle, and Latch - didn't want to traumatize the boy in his method of disposal of the irritant - and ended its reign of terror once and for all. Returned with a subtly smug look in his eyes, pleased to have seemingly impressed his company with his victory, and settled with the three.

Feeling far better than the night before, indeed.

P r e v i o u s l y - Was doing quite well... and then it started snowing.
Currently a quiet mess - though at times, not so quiet. Feels a myriad of negativity as a result of resurfaced past memories triggered by the snowy weather, and isn't handling it very well. Could return to the human world, but is convinced that if he can tolerate the snow long enough, he may be able to break the cycle. So far, failing miserably.

N o t e s » Gonna try and work on CSS that will suit him a lot better than this, and re-do relations aGAIN because some of them are rly inaccurate like don't even look at it because it hasn't been updated in a year

Ok^^

Watching the butterflies soar above the ground a doe walks through a patch of illuminating purple flowers. Sniffing the air as she treads through the delicate flowers she smells the sent of a male, a stage she knows, but who? The doe stands still, questioning where the familiar sent came from. Taking a deep breath of crisp air she speaks. "Who's there?" She say's timidly.

Apparanza's picture

A sharp, olive-colored gaze

A sharp, olive-colored gaze strayed not from the doe before him as he approached her after her question. Malikorin shook out his antlers, a leaf or two spiraling towards the ground. He had been sitting for a while between his trees, and fallen asleep there. It was not uncommon for him to wake up and have to shake out leaves that had fallen onto his antlers. The stag stopped once he was about a yard away from her, not saying anything.
He knew she was Angel. Would she remember him?

By Leuvr

The doe growing more aware of

The doe growing more aware of the familiar sent, not being able to locate it's host she ask her question again, louder she thinks. Talk louder so whoever can hear. Who....Who's there?" The doe says trying to talk as loud as her timid mouth shall allow. She starts treading towards the sent, Unsure of what await's her. Ready to run, or fight be it a threat to her. Her skills would allow her to gallop fast enough away from danger, but knowing her pride she might not allow such a thing as running away from a threat.
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin made a slight eye

Malikorin made a slight eye roll. Silly doe. If he were a stag with malicious intent, he would've given her a reason never to forget him again. However, it didn't bother him nearly as much that that she didn't match his scent to his name. His pupils did constrict into slits, however.
"Malikorin," he finally said, taking another step forward towards her.

By Leuvr

The doe stops, twitching her

The doe stops, twitching her ears. She sighs with relief, "Malikorin...I know you...Your name is so familiar..Can you come closer?" She ask, wanting to see his appearance. Still a bit uneasy with the sent, and sounds she hears her ear's drop down close to her skull like head. The doe walks slowly towards the stage she can't see, wondering if she's going in the right direction or not, she treads onward in the direction she believes he is at.

Malikorin sighed and continued walking forward until he was in clear view of the doe. He stopped, and nodded once. That was his greeting. No lavish bows or anything - he knew her scent already, too, and she seemed like she was all right so no need to check on her with a sniff.
"Yes. We met a few days ago, if you recall."

The doe watches him walk into

The doe watches him walk into her view, her eye's never wondering. She curtsies to him in respect to his nod. Angel recognizes him, now glad that he wasn't a threat she plops her ear's back up listing to what the stage had to say. Yes I remember, you where the kind one to sit with me, right?" Her memory was not as good was it was when she was a fawn, but fractions of it where still intact.

I have to go, can we continue this tomorrow when I get on? (:

Riza sat beside Malikorin in

Riza sat beside Malikorin in what she considered as awkward silence with the small tree between them. It didn't help her insecurity that her green coloring stuck out like a beacon against the white, even as some snow slowly began to collect on her fur. Even if he wasn't, Riza always felt as if Malik were staring right through her and could see all her intentions and doubts. She didn't bother to look to see if her hunch was right. Making eye contact with Malikorin might drain whatever courage she had gathered to come here in the first place.
With the turn in seasons had come a change in the green doe. Her belly was starting to clearly signal her second pregnancy, only made more obvious by the fact she had no winter coat to speak of. Surely Malik had noticed that, along with her wanting to speak with him yet not having the courage to begin speaking.
But this was part of the reason why she had sought him out, for he seemed to see everything, and whatever opinion he did give was blunt and unbiased. At least, she thought so from the few true conversations they had.
But, Riza supposed she had nothing to lose. It was useless to try and save her pride around him, as it seemed he didn't value such a thing very much.
She didn't move as she finally spoke, "Malikorin... May I ask you for an opinion?"

(Bah, my paragraph form makes me want to punch babies. But I guess that just means I need to do more >| Have a fail opening post.)

Horrible memories. That's what the snow brought. Cold, indecision, disgust... sorrow. A sense of freedom, but a sense of being held down as well. Too many emotions for Malikorin to handle, however slight they might be. He would never forget what - who - caused this. It was probably a good thing he hadn't seen any of his brothers today. There was a chance they would have only made things worse for him, intentionally or not.
Riza's company, however, had been welcomed even though he might not have shown it well. He needed somebody. He had even sat down by a few sleeping deer, something he would have never felt the need to do under normal circumstances. Earlier he had been found by an unknown mini deer whose energy and determination to stay caused him irritation, and caused him to rethink whether or not he desired company. In the end he knew he did. He needed someone. He felt numb.
Malik had easily noticed the other day that Riza was pregnant, when he had sat beside her sleeping form, and he was reminded of it again when she appeared today. Pregnancies made him feel uneasy for the fawn, yet another product of certain incidents in his past. He barely showed it though, if at all.
Malikorin could practically feel her hesitance and uncertainty. He didn't know what she was going to say, but he waited patiently. One ear swiveled in her direction and an olive-colored eye slid sideways to look at her when she at last decided to speak. His black pupils dilated slightly.
"You may."
He was grateful for this distraction. He couldn't deny that he was curious... What would she ask him about that required his opinion? He turned his head towards her a little bit, his sharp gaze still pinned onto hers.

Riza hadn't been sure what to

Riza hadn't been sure what to make of his initial reaction upon her approach. At first, she had thought he didn't want company, but he seemed to calm down as she stepped closer, leaving her even more mystified. And when he answered her question, she thought she felt some sort of tension break. Had something been on Malik's mind? She pondered the idea a moment before returning to the topic she had brought up. Even if she asked, chances are he wouldn't tell her.
She took a breath, hoping to get most of it out in one go, "My father, an entity who lives outside the forest, has called me for help. I don't know much more beyond that." She paused briefly, letting a melancholy look cross her face. "I don't believe he would call on me unless whatever is happening is serious, but if I left to find him, I would be risking not only myself, but my unborn child." She looked up to meet his eyes then. "The reason I am asking for your opinion is that someone close to me would probably want to keep me here until the fawn is born, at least. But, if my father really is in need, it's likely I don't have time to wait."
Would his opinion sway her one way or the other? Riza didn't know, but she just wanted to consult someone without risking losing her freedom to choose.

Malikorin was completely silent as he listened to her explain to him what she was thinking about, his gaze locking on hers when she looked up at him. So she was torn between waiting for her fawn to be born and going to help her father right away. He wondered what it would be like to want to help his father. The thought repelled him immediately, but he tried to prevent his problems with his own father to get in the way of his opinion for Riza. He shook his head vigorously to clear it, hoping it would pass off as simply getting the snow out of his antlers.
"Before tell you what I think you should do... I need you to answer a few questions first." Malik slightly narrowed his eyes in thought, his gaze flickering away from her to look somewhere else. "How far along are you?" He hadn't seen Ferin in a long time, so some time must have already passed. He also didn't know, since she was of a unique species, if it took more or less time to have the child. "Will it take a while for it to be born or not?"
He paused, looking back at Riza, waiting for her response before saying anything more.

(Appa, that is so amazing and perfect ♥ OKAY I'LL STOP EDITING THIS NOW OTL)

Indeed, Riza had merely thought the head shake to be a reaction from the snow, as most of the time it was nearly impossible to tell what Malikorin was thinking. Watching him shake made her more aware of the snow beginning to accumulate on her own head, and she twitched her ears to be rid of any that had stuck there. The cold was starting to get to her, and she played off a shiver with a slight shift, as if to make herself more comfortable.
"Yes, I suppose that would factor into the decision..." Riza looked down at the snow in front of her a minute trying to remember how her pregnancy with Ryuu had gone. "Ryuu grew very quickly in the womb and after he was born... But I believe this pregnancy has gone by more slowly. It has already been two months." She looked back to him again, much of her previous insecurity gone now. "Going by the way I've been feeling and my size, I would say I'm am not yet halfway. More likely a third of the way."

Malikorin frowned after she replied. That was not what he wanted to hear. He was hoping that the fawn would have taken less time to be born, so that she could give birth to it in the forest and then be able to go and aid her father while leaving the fawn in good care. Now he understood why it was such a difficult decision for her to make. "Hm." This snow did not help his thinking at all, but he did his best to think clearly. "Do you think your father has called you when whatever situation he's in is already serious? Or perhaps he is thinking ahead and is calling you before things will get out of control?" If Riza believed her father would call her before things became serious, then she might have more time to spare to give birth to her child. He thought of another possibility, if she thought that her father would only call her if things were already bad.
"And how long ago did your father call you?"

By Leuvr
OkamiLugia's picture

Riza sighed, feeling ashamed

Riza sighed, feeling ashamed she had let the situation stagnate this long. She may have had it on her mind ever since she was aware, but thinking had gotten nothing done. "I feel he would not call upon me lightly, and the fact that his message was so vague tells me something has gone wrong." But leaving would likely require her not telling her closer friends and family beforehand. There was neither a guarantee she would be of any real help to her father nor that she wasn't already too late, but what consequences would come from ignoring his plea if she could make a difference? "It has been nearly a whole month." A feeling of frantic urgency was slowly beginning to rise as Riza began to fear the worst. The possible gravity of the choice she had to make was finally descending on her.
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin made a single nod,

Malikorin made a single nod, gazing out at their snowy surroundings. An ear flicked to get rid of a flake that had landed upon it, and he tilted his head upwards a little. So it has been almost an entire month since her father had contacted her. He could feel her unease after she told him. "Then if that's the case, that your father would not call you unless things were already serious... I believe you must go. But." He looked down at her, and his head followed to face her. "You shouldn't go without taking someone else with you to act as your guard as well as protect your unborn child. If you're going into a dangerous situation and you or your fawn is at risk of getting injured in any way, you need somebody that can protect you. If your father is calling for your assistance, it must be out of his control and it's possible that he may not be of much help." He paused, still looking straight at her. "I would suggest you take Ferin, but he's... away. I'm sure you can think of someone else, if you think this is a good idea."

Riza held her gaze to his as Malikorin spoke, though she could not help but glance away a couple of times, as she wasn't exactly comfortable with the idea of risking the safety of yet another person. Though, she could not deny the very real possibility of needing protection. She narrowed her eyes when he mentioned Ferin's absence. It reminded her of their previous conversation on the topic, but she decided to let it go. Let him think what he wanted to.
"Yes, I think I shall go. And taking someone else... Probably would be a good idea." She frowned in thought. Just because it was a good idea didn't mean she was convinced to carry it out. Besides, there was always the chance that a tag along would only slow her down. But she was probably overestimating herself, given her pregnancy.
She looked up to Malikorin, "Thank you, Malik."

Malikorin found it faintly

Malikorin found it faintly amusing when she narrowed her eyes after he spoke of Ferin, but he decided not to say anything else related to her mate. Now was not the time for it. "Both your fawn and your father are priorities. It would be a wise decision to find someone to bring with you to make sure your fawn is safe while you aid your father." He never thought he'd use 'aid' and 'father' in the same sentence, but he was constantly surprising himself. Like the fact that he had chosen to help Riza make a decision instead of telling her to go and find someone else to ask. He blinked when she thanked him, and allowed his olive gaze to wander away from her. A subtle nod was made. The empty stag was not used to being thanked, but the words did not repel him.
"Good luck."

Riza nodded as well, before standing to shake some snow off her back while being careful not to get it on Malikorin. The attitude- or perhaps lack thereof- irritates the doe slightly. And yet she finds it amusing enough to murmur out a, "Touchy, touchy." Accendare's eyes watch him guardedly. "What an honour it must be to be one of those few.

The stag's words trigger a small chuckle that escapes her lips, albeit muffled. If she had eyebrows, the doe would have quirked one, a questioningly curious glance thrown his way. "So you consider yourself ill company?" Her tone would negate the question as merely a statement, but the inquiry is in her eyes. Not rhetorical.
Apparanza's picture

The stag knew his previous

The stag knew his previous statement had a slight hint of humor in it, but not even his muzzle twitched in an attempt to smile. Only when she finished saying her statement-question did he break eye contact with her and gaze straight forward. "I don't imagine myself to be good company. I find that I tend to unsettle others." Not that he had a problem with that. He did not dance, he did not play, he disliked talking a lot and little kept his attention. So yes, he did consider himself ill company.

The black doe watches

The black doe watches silently as he looks away, eyeing his large black antlers absently while simultaneously giving her full attention to his words. She is not surprised- his disposition is anything but normal. Then again, what is normal in a place like this? She feels she has seen it all. "That judgment is best left up to those around you, is it not?" Though not direct, the tone of her voice implies something beneath the words. Why so hard on yourself, hm? "Still," she goes on, "I daresay I've seen things more unsettling than you."

One of Malikorin's black-rimmed ears swiveled in her direction when she spoke again. "Perhaps." But surely, over time, one would begin to notice whether or not they are good company, he thought. He inwardly shrugged and after she finished speaking, an olive-colored eye slid sideways to gaze down at Accendare. "Then I believe we should get along just fine."

He hardly seemed convinced by her earlier statement, but the onyx doe didn't so much as bat an eyelash at it. Her concerns were not with what others chose to believe. When he mentions getting along, she stifles a chuckle. "I have no qualms with that. I believe we shall." A pause, when she realizes something. "You must have a name, unless you choose to walk faceless. I am Accendare."

His head tilted towards her ever so slightly when she introduced herself. Accendare. There was something about the name that he liked. Possibly the sound. "I am Malikorin." Green eyes keenly traced the odd tuft of hair upon his head, before following the teardrop pattern on his face. "A suiting name, I think." The black doe looks off as far as the fog will allow, before peering back up at him. Despite her snide remarks and wit, she herself was not much of a talker. Solitude does that to you. "What interests you so that you must watch others?" She does it too. Observing from afar, keeping her distance from groups. Yet still she asks.
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin remained silent in thought for a moment after she asked her question, turning to look ahead. "It's usually not so much interest as it is boredom," he replied. "The level of interest depends on the individual. If I know them, if I don't. Their appearance. Their behavior. Their reaction to noticing me - if it is positive or neutral, I will continue observing as I was or venture closer if I wish. If not, I will..." His gaze flickered back to her. "...become unseen." He paused before directing the question back at her. "Do you watch others?"
