Just thinking.... (RP&interactions)

Spyrre's picture

....would anyone be interested to try some RP with my deer? =3

Bio

Rules:
1) To begin, use the intro below, or write a scenario yourself. You can also ask me to make a custom start if you can´t think of one and don´t like the one below, but don´t expect something very epic if you leave that up to my brains. I have nothing against action though, you have a permission to make the situation something more exiting if you´d prefer something else than just a conversation. Just keep things in good taste, and it´s all cool.
2) Deer-characters are preferred, since my deer does not leave from the forest. If you´d want to choose a human/something else character though, you can do that, if that character is somewhere in the Endless Forest. Just be prepared that my deer will probably be afraid of that kind of characters.
3) If you have a violent character, keep in mind that my deer isn´t aggressive nor has any special abilities. I don´t forbid fighting or action, but don´t want her to be beaten to death either. Use your common sense here, or if uncertain, ask. =)
4) Any form of RP is allowed. Feel free to draw sketches if you wish, and I´ll try to draw something back. I´ll also try to keep my answers about as long as yours, if my english-skills will allow that.
5) Have fun. I don´t take roleplay-drama or even my character very seriously, so sense of humor is allowed. =)

Intro 1:
The wind rustled gently the leaves of blueberry-bushes as it swept through the thick vegetation of the Blue Bowl. Though the place had looked quite deserted from afar, there was a glimpse of something bright and red among the calm sea of blue and green. If watched more carefully, there was also movement. A small deer grazed in the thicked, not seeming to give much thought to it´s surroundings. Poppies were hanging from its smallish antlers, and a grinning skull-mask covered it´s head, but otherwise there wasn´t really anything threatening in the small animal. Most of it´s - her - attention was in the food for now, and even though large, tattered ears flicked lazily at the rustle in the leaves, she didn´t raise her head untill she would notice someone coming closer. The berries were too tasty to leave all of them to the birds...

(May be adding more intros to choose from later if needed)

A small tremble let a few

A small tremble let a few drops fall off of the young stag's fur as well, even allowing his feathery "antlers" to stand up a second before falling back down against his neck, soaked as they were.
With a worried expression and rapidly changing pupils he looked to the moody skies, dark and ominous, his heart beat so fast the mini beside him could probably feel them...
"Y-yeah, you're... you're probably r-right..." He said, not really having listened, as he lay his head down, suddenly appearing so much smaller than her. He really had just grown into adulthood...

Animals. He was an animal. He

Animals.

He was an animal.

He shook off the unpleasentness of that statement with the same ease of swatting away a pesky fly. He felt tired and groggy enough in this damn hot weather.

"No." he said simply. That wasn't true. She was wrong. Sososo wrong. He lowered his head into the water for a few seconds, letting it clear his head (and a few impending tears) before speaking.

"Do you have anything important?" he asked, mentally slapping himself for how unconfident his voice sounded. He wanted to change the subject, to go on to something else or to drop their meeting entirely to an and flee.

@Kiraki: The fawn seemed to

@Kiraki:
The fawn seemed to have a lot of energy in it, even more than the little things usually had. The red deer watched it whirling around amused, stepping a bit away if it seemed like it would crash into her again. The word "family" got it´s attention for a moment, and it stopped looking confused. She was a bit surprised that it didn´t know what a family was, figuring soon though that the fawn might be alone after all. Poor thing.
"It´s... well, someone who takes care of you" She explained, but was interrupted by a sudden, impulsive dash of a fawn as it suddenly forgot about everything else hearing that one magical word. Eh, it seemed to have even worse attention-span than she did, and the mini wasn´t really very patient herself when she didn´t have anything too serious to think about.
"H-hey, wait! Where you´re--!" Well, there it went, dashing into the shadows. The mini stared surprised after her few seconds, rushing then after the fawn, without really thinking why she did it even though just a moment ago she was suffering of annoyance, thirst and insomnia. The fawn wasn´t only impulsive thing around here, it seemed.

@Chicken:
"Awh... don´t worry about it." She repeated with a small smile, feeling sorry for him, and nudged the stag again. There wasn´t really much she could do to make him feel better, he just had to get used to weather like this eventually... or worse, sometime, they were lucky now since the strom wasn´t right on top of them. The mini sniffed, slipped then the skull-mask from her head to the ground and turned to give his neck a gentle grooming to comfort the nervous stag.

@Ginger:
"...oh." The little bit of cheer disappeared soon from her again, and ears drooped back down. Of course the mini didn´t know the exact reason for the stag´s unhappiness, but apparently his ma-- er, partner in the forest with him wasn´t enough. He missed his old family and life, didn´t he? She was a bit sorry that she had asked, but didn´t apologise since the question wasn´t meant to harm. She didn´t know what to say that would be some kind of use, so the small deer stayed silent, looking like a puppy that was just caugt at chewing someone´s shoes; not really regretting what she had done, but upset by a reaction it raised. It seemed to be pretty easy to "infect" emotions to her, if someone around her was being unhappy, so was she.

It was Jergens again, who continued the discussion and the mini raised her gaze again from the waters surface.
"Anything.... important?" She asked, thinking what the stag meant by that. Important what? Something, or something to do?
"I... don´t know. I guess not." She thought a while before answering, still a bit hesistating tone in her voice. She didn´t actually HAVE anything, did she, she just.... was. Actually, did he intent the question like this or not, it made her frown slightly like something disturbed her. She just wasn´t sure what it was.
Chickenwhite's picture

This seemed to comfort him

This seemed to comfort him immensely as he looked at her with a smile warmer than anything before, a deep breath of what seemed like relief going through his system. And after a second or two, the shaky stag lifted his head to return the grooming, even nibbling playfully at her ear once.
"You're... You're really pretty without your mask..." He said, too innocently for it to be flirting.
Kiraki's picture

Kiraki gave a little squeal

Kiraki gave a little squeal of delight as she realized the doe was following her.
”Play! ” She called out to the doe, almost as if to remind her to keep following.
She quickened her pace somewhat, moving into a kind of energetic skipping movement, but not quite fast enough to break into a run. It was dark after all and she had no real idea of where she was heading, not that she usually ever had, since she was mostly chasing things.
Without a clear path or direction in mind her movement was quite unpredictable as she darted in random directions. Moving slow enough so that the doe could see and find her in the dark, yet just slightly too fast to catch.
She glanced behind her to see if the doe was still following her, and just as she did so the tiny fawn suddenly vanished from sight, shortly followed by a loud splashing sound.
It seems they had ended up by the pond after all.
Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: At last he seemed

@Chicken:
At last he seemed to begin getting his thought away from the ominous weather. She smiled, happy to see him feeling better, flicking her ears, though his compliment made her tilt her head a bit, like the mini hadn´t expected it. She wasn´t really taking it in a wrong way though, just not sure how to respond. Apparently she wasn´t very used to receiving compliments.
"Uh, well, it kind of got into the way" for some reason she felt a need to explain, as she was quite used of her heavy mask. Under it, she wasn´t nearly as intimidating as the grim expression of the skull over her face might make her look. Then she smiled again and continued the grooming seeming quite amused, not really bothered.
"You´re nice yourself! I´m sure you´ll get used to this place, it´s actuallya a very good forest." She chuckled a bit, glancing then a bit more seriously around.
"Is your family here somewhere too?" The mini asked, apparently thinking that the stag was so young that he might need older deer still to help him, until remembering the possibility of all the mysterious orphan fawns around. Huh... maybe it would have been better to not ask... He felt awkward enough already.

@Kiraki:
So the two small creatures dashed through the dark forest, managing somehow to not run into a treetrunk for now. The mini tried to keep her eyes on the fawn and focus to run without falling at the same time, but even though it made her a bit more clumsy that she usually was, she managed to follow the randomly around jumping thing. She wasn´t a graceful runner anyway, probably partly because of the large, clumsy mask on her face, and the fawn would have been a lot faster than her if it had ran at its full speed. Her hooves staggered slightly as the red deer slipped because stepping on a tree-root, but managed to avoid falling and still continued to chase the fawn. Energetic little thing, wan´t it? Actually, it was quite fun to have a good chase, though she hoped that they would have had this game at the day-time instead. Not seeing well where they were going made her still a bit restless.
"Be careful, where you´re-- " She tried to call after the fawn gasping the air between the words, but finished the sentence with a surprised shout instead as the little thing vanished suddenly with a splash. The startled mini almost tripped on her feet again, stubmling then quickly after the fawn. She had no idea that they had run into the pond after all... It hadn´t fallen in the deep-end of the water, was it? Could something that young swim?

The stag gave a melancholic

The stag gave a melancholic smile.
"I... don't really know..." He said, still grooming, but resting a bit at a spot behind Spyrre's one ear. He sounded sad, but not like someone who'd lost their family, rather more like someone who knew something was missing, but they didn't know what. Something they knew they ought to have, but they, for some reason, didn't. It sounded like... he couldn't remember.
Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: "Oh.." Her ears

@Chicken:
"Oh.." Her ears ears drooped slightly, and the smaller deer was silent for a moment. This WAS a good forest... but a very weird one, at times. She knew that even though ordinary fawns were born to parents sometime, there were also people just appearing from somewhere, also some who had been something else than a deer before. She had no idea where they were coming from, or how, though. Did anyone here know? Probably not.
"Well, I don´t either." She said then with a small smile.
"But I have some very good friends. You will get some too with sime time. That´s almost as good, isn´t it?"
GingerNut's picture

He put his face back under

He put his face back under the crying idol's falling tears, antlers glistening with water droplets. This deer... There were many deer in the forest who were previously humans, but this one... This one was not one of them, it seemed. Yes, the forest made you forget, but this deer was completely clueless about almost everything Jergens was trying to tell her.

"Let me rephrase that, girly..." while he still didn't know her gender, Jergens was thinging of Spyrre as a female. Like it or not. "Some ONE important to ya? It don't have to be a partner, y'know." he shook the water from his head, cursing as one of his cumbersome antlers banged against the idol. Jebass! That hurt!

"Why are wearing that silly skull thing? Seriously..." he muttered, not really caring if he offended her. He had never liked the skull mask, always thought it looked too damn emo.

Chickenwhite's picture

To this, the young stag

To this, the young stag smiled warmly.
"Yeah, you're right. And I already have, so... uhm, I, well, I don't really think I miss my parents." He smiled in slight confusion, while gently removing a tic from Spyrre's neck. He was surprisingly good at that, it didn't even hurt!
Spyrre's picture

@Ginger: The small deer

@Ginger:
The small deer seemed to watch with curiosity as he banged his antlers against the rock... again. Huh, seemed like he could have used a bit smaller antlers... She was about to point it out, but changed her mind, answering him instead after a thoughtful flick of tattered ears. Now she was a "girly" to him then? The mini let that detail bother her as much as the calling her "man" before, though.
"Well, I have some very good friends. That´s pretty much all I have." She said then, stretching her front-hooves. She didn´t have really some ONE, rather few more, though some friends were closer to her than others, of course. It was still a good thing, wasn´t it? The question about her mask made her glance the stag again. He sure had lots of weird questions, didn´t he?
"Why? Why not? It´s not any worse than the other masks there is, is it?" Not offended still, she only had the hint of confusion in her that seemed to stick on her expression most of the time they had talked. She wasn´t that precise of her appearance anyway, which could probably be seen of her always a bit messy fur.
"...sometimes it gets a bit in the way, though. It´s kind of clumsy." The mini lowered her head to remove the skull with the help of her right hoof, and shook then her head from side to side like a wet dog, contend to get the weight of the large mask off of her. Still, she didn´t seem to mind using it.
"...speaking of... There´s no rocks at the pond, want to go there instead? The water is also deeper." She added the last sentence after a small delay glancing at the stag who was obviously feeling quite uncomfortable. It probably wasn´t too hard to figure what she meant, after a look she made in the direction of the idol. Of course she wasn´t serious, the small joke wasn´t meant to really embarass the Jergens and his clumsy antlers, the mini seemed to have some a bit blunt humor to her sometime and it didn´t really occur to her that someone might get angry over such a small thing. It was a nice thing to do to suggest moving to better place if he seemed uncomfortable, wasn´t it?

@Chicken:
"It´s good to hear that. You´ll be fine there, then, I´m sure!" She nodded again, relieved that there apparently wasn´t such a bad past behind the skittish young stag... maybe he was just naturally shy, then. The mini had already developed a liking to this deer, even though they had just met, and would probably had been upset to hear bad news of him. She was pretty quick in considering strangers as her friends, it seemed. She sniffed slightly, and turned to scratch contently the itching spot in her neck with her right hind-hoof where the nasty bug had been.
"Thanks, I couldn´t reach that thing well myself." The smaller deer sighed and stretched a bit, before she turned her head to sky again. A bolt of lightning flashed again, though still far away, rumbling as it disappeared again. Maybe it was just drifting past the forest, as Spyrre had predicted?
Chickenwhite's picture

And even as Redd smiled at

And even as Redd smiled at her remark, he still flinched at the lightning, giving the sky an anxious glance, but shrugging it off best as he could with a calming sigh.
"Y-you're welcome!" He smiled sweetly, a bit of his nervousness returning and cracking through his calm facade, if ever he had one.
"P... people tell me I'm... I'm good at not hurting..." He laughed, not really being able to find a better way of phrasing it. Appearantly, he wasn't all that good with words...
GingerNut's picture

He tilted his head (left

He tilted his head (left antler scraping against the rock as he did so) and watched watched her take her mask off with... very visible relief.

"Much. Must better. Now I can see what the hell ya really look like. Hiding yer face behind a mask... Not very pleasent, don'tcha think?" he grinned. Sure... He wore a mask as well, but at least it didn't cover his eyes or mouth.

"They just weird me out, y'know?" he left his opinion of skull masks at that. He just didn't like them. At all.

They looked like something that came straight out of a Hot Topic store, really. He wouldn't tell Spyrre this, of course, then he'd have to explain it.

He turned a bit too switly and his key antler smashed back into the poor Idol's side. "Ow! Goddamn Jebass..." he uttered a string of curses under his breath and looked at her with part amusement, and part annoyance.

"I'll live. If anything, I hope they tear off. Stupid things always getting in the way..."

Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: Damn that nasty

@Chicken:
Damn that nasty lightning! She flattened her ears and snorted at it, as it would have scared the unwanted weather away, nudging then again at the stag´s neck seeing his nervousness. Too bad that the weather couldn´t be bothered.
"Yeah. It´s better like that than the other way around." The mini pondered, smiling also, going probably with her thought a bit farther than just removing ticks even though that went a bit over the subject. She didn´t really get the aggressive deer, even though some of them had their reasons. They bothered her still, it was indeed good thing that there was more peaceful creatures sometime.

@Ginger:
"I don´t really mind." She stated, reaching then to some grass that hanged down from the slope and chewed on to them. Without her mask, she really wasn´t a grim sight at all with her large eyes and ears. Such dramatic item didn´t fit in with the rest of a lot lighter features, but that might be one reason why she liked it. Somehow it felt safe when she was feeling uncertain of something, even though the mini wouldn´t admit that to anyone. Another reason was probably her a bit weird taste with things, even though she usually didn´t give such things very much thought. Some thought that things such as this were scary, but not her. It seemed to take a bit more to actually scare the mini than just appearance. Usually, atleast.
The damn grass was being quite stubborn with her, though. After a moment of struggle, she managed to rip the plant off the ground, and sat munching on them while flicking her ears to Jergens as he hit his head again.
"Don´t say that! Wouldn´t it hurt even more?" She pointed out, nodding then slightly hesistating as he wasn´t interested of moving away from the idol. Well, hopefully he really wouldn´t break his antlers off like that, that would have been awful.... Suddenly she seemed to remember something.
"Oh, anyway! You should be careful at the pond, if you go into the deep water. There´s some... thing in there sometime. I saw it! Don´t know if its dangerous, but it´s quite big." The mini exlaimed, glancing behind her to the direction of the pond. She didn´t seem to like the "thing" that she had apparently seen there.
Chickenwhite's picture

And to this the stag smiled

And to this the stag smiled in slight confusion, leaning into her caress gently, reminding Spyrre of nothing but a big squirrel-baby, hungry for the affection of its mother.
"I... suppose so?" He tried, not really getting what she meant, but agreeing with the over-all intention of the sentence. He then chuckled slightly.
"Sometimes... it's almost as if I can't hurt people at all... N-not that I want to, it's just... impossible for me." He said with a slight chuckle at the end of this small personal quirk. A quite welcome quirk indeed, but still a quirk.
GingerNut's picture

He watched her eat, a little

He watched her eat, a little creeped out to be seeing a human faced deer eating grass. Yeah, he had seen it many times before, but every time he saw it... It just made his skin crawl...

"Yeah, but then they wouldn't get in my way anymore. It's not like I fight much. I wouldn't miss em'" he chuckled uneasily. He did fight, but only when it involved either someone he really didn't care for, or someone who was hurting a deer that he had taken a liking to.

He raised an eyebrow at her weird comment about "the thing in the pond" and smiled a bit more.

Hmm... I wonder...

"I have no idea what yer talking about, but is it a littler thing than ya think? Red? Weird duck bill? Little black feet? Yeah, that's Olay." he smiled a bit more warmly now and placed his head under the tears again, simply adoring the feel of the water.

"She's my sis. Wouldn't hurt a fly, don't worry about her if that's what yer talkin' about." he shrugged.

"It could also be a fish or something, too. Ya never know."

((Oh God I'm sorry for adding in that shameless platypus reference))

Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: "Hmmh. With a

@Chicken:
"Hmmh. With a antlers like those, I don´t wonder." The mini grinned reaching to poke his feathery antlers with her nose. Of course she was joking and not really making fun of him, as she gave the stag a friendly smile. Seriously, it would have been a bit more dangerous to be so helpless if it weren´t this quite serene place where the deer lived... only, as peaceful the Endless forest was most of the time, there were its own dangers, in a form of less friendly deer rather than real predators. She had luckily avoided most of the troubles herself, but witnessed some quite threatening fights. Most of the deer were friendly, but not all of them and she knew it even though was quick to trust in seemingly nice strangers. It didn´t matter to her much though, since none of the dangerous deer she had spotted had ever been very subtle in their intentions. She had been fine all her time in here, so could he, right?
"I like feathers.. they are so much softer and lighter than antlers. And who needs huge antlers if you can run fast, right?" She stated then, nodding confidently.

@Ginger:
The mini wrinkled her nose a bit, not very convinced that tearing off one´s antlers would be a good idea in any way. Well, she had antlers too, even though a lot smaller than his, ans she didn´t use them for fighting either... well, not usually, she didn´t like to fight and was bad at it. Anyway, a thought of breaking them made her shudder slightly. It had to be painful... though Jergens wasn´t very serious about this, luckily, was he? She mumled something, swallowing her meal, and stopped to stare at the stag eyes wide as he pictured a another "thing" in the pond.
"Ohh, no no, its big and green and scaly and likes to sit in the bottom and stare at you." She shook her head, but seemed to be more fascinated by the thing he had spoken of than the possibly more dangerous one.
"Really? That one I haven´t seen! Your sister´s a duck?" In any other place, one might have questioned why he thought that his sister was a duck or something "duckish", but Spyrre didn´t seem to wonder that much, rather she was very curious of it. There were many animals here, and many deer were orginally something else than a deer, so why not those non-deer things also be born here as something else? It made sense to her. Enough, atleast.

((Heh, it´s fine, now she´s just being very curios about "the red duck". =) Oh and the "thing" she mentioned was the water-monster-thing played by Alpedille. Spyrre saw it once, and she´s even more paranoid with the deep water now. ))
Chickenwhite's picture

Making Redd smile and laugh

Making Redd smile and laugh slightly at her teasing remark.
"I know, and antlers just get in the way of everything!" He chuckled, shaking his head slightly to get some if not much water out of his feathers, making them stand up a bit more. He didn't appear to even be aware of potential danger in the forest. He seemed like a thoroughly innocent and nice being, as if the world hadn't touched him at all... But as Spyrre looked closer, she would come to realize that this was far from true, as concealed behind Redd's mask, three long, nasty-looking scars framed his pretty, blue eyes.
GingerNut's picture

((Sorry for lateness. Busy

((Sorry for lateness. Busy putting up yet another pointless story blog xD;; Ooh, I thought that might have been it. Wasn't sure though x3))

Jergens thout about how she described... Well... the creature from the black lagoon, basically. he flicked back his ears glanced over at the pond uneasily.

Well... That was just one more thing to worry about, then. What if it got Olay? She wouldn't be able to protect herself if it wanted to eat her or something.

He decided to set it aside and not worry about it. After all, his sister was fully capable of protecting herself.

"Well... She isn't really a duck... She just has a bill like one... And she has fur, not feathers. And a weird beaver tail thing..." he found it surprisingly difficult to describe her. What was she, anyway?

"Uhm... she calls herself a 'haaayus' or some crap like that..." Olay's garbled speech was still a mystery to him. Really, the only word he could understand from her billed mouth was 'Herhens' and 'hoher'. 'Jergens' and 'Brother'.

Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: "I have no idea how

@Chicken:
"I have no idea how the ones with the largest antlers even move. If I had ones like that I would be falling down and getting stuck to the trees all the time!" She laughed thinking the poor deer who carried those huge red antlers around, but now that she thought of it, she didn´t remember seeing anyone ever getting in trouble with them... Well, one time there was someone who--- The mini lost her thoughts suddenly as her eyes caught a glimpse of those quite large scars on the stags face. She blinked, a lot more serious and concerned expression appearing on her face.
"Are... are you hurt?" She asked worriedly, before realising that the wounds weren´t actually fresh ones. They looked quite nasty though, especially so close his eyes. What in the world had happened to him?

@Ginger:
Her eyes got even more wider, as he described the duck-thing more, it was not a surprise that if Jergens as a ex-human didn´t know what animal it was, she knew even less. There were insects, birds, squirrels, rabbits, frogs and fish in the forest with deer and she knew what wolves and some other ordinary animals were, but that was pretty much how far her knowledge with exotic animals went. The forest´s version of the Loch ness-monster was nowhere near as exiting as that... furry beaver-duck.
"Ohh... Never knew there was some animal like that!" She exlaimed in fascination, glancing then in the water like hoping to see the weird creature pop out somewhere. Mini was now determined to find that beaver-duck someday, even though she wasn´t very keen to go near the deepest water.
"She sounds nice! I want to see that... haays sometime! You´re lucky, since you have some family here with you!" Spyrre pondered, now with a slight cheerful smile. The stag wasn´t so alone here then, he had a family-member AND his ma-- er, partner! But, uh... why was he so troubled then? Some deer didn´t have anyone beside them who they had known "before", so it was quite rare to be so fortunate, as far as she knew.
Chickenwhite's picture

To this, he tilted his head

To this, he tilted his head in confusion.
"I don't think so... why're you asking?..." He blinked his eyes -bluer than any other eyes Spyrre'd seen in a long time- and even managed to raise his feathers slightly in question.
Kiraki's picture

Some more splashing was heard

Some more splashing was heard from below, shortly followed by some giggling. Kiraki was easily moving through the water, her long legs making her quite a strong swimmer.
Moving closer to the edge of the pond she kicked out until she found something solid to step on she lifted her self almost completely out of the water, looking upwards to try and find where the doe had gone to.
”Play! ” She called out with a laugh before diving back into the water.
Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: "...eh. Your...

@Chicken:
"...eh. Your... scars. I thought.." The mini staggered in her speech, shaking then slightly her head. Well, even though the wounds WERE old, or atleast not fresh, someone had still hurt the timid stag. That didn´t really feel very comforting and she was still worried. He seemed to be fine though, and didn´t look like being hurt otherwise.
"It wasn´t someone from here who did those, was it?" The mini asked after hesistating few seconds, looking around the thicket like expecting someone to jump out at any second. Who would be mean enough to do such a thing?! It might be that Redd wouldn´t really want to speak of the subject, but she was too appalled by the thought to think about how polite asking such a question would be.

@Kiraki:
It appeared, that as fragile the fawn seemed, atleast it was surprisingly good swimmer. The mini stared down at the slope as it splashed happyli through the water, feeling quite relieved when the first scare calmed down. She could swim herself, but the deep end of the pond frightened her, especially as dark as it was now. It was such a relief that she didn´t have to blindly jump in to save the fawn, though if it had been really in distress, she would have done it even though of her fear. The mini sighed, and trotted then around the water to the more shallow end, and walked in the water with few playful jumps. Seemed like the fawn was STILL not hurt, even though it rolled down the higher slope.
"Allright, lets play then" She agreed with a chuckle, and pranced through the water-weeds, though staying away from the deep water and giving it a suspicious glance from time to time. The fawn got her playmate then... had she by the way even asked its name, she realized suddenly. The mini-deer had been too busy with being confused and chasing the little one that she had forgotten completely.
"Do you have a name, or should I just call you ´little one´?" She asked when the fawn got close enough, still splashing playfully around in the water.

Spyrre~ ((Ugh.. late...)) He

Spyrre~ ((Ugh.. late...))

He smiled. "If ya wanna meet her I can just call her over. Hell, she'd enjoy the company." he chuckled pleasently. Jergens had always had a close relationship with his little sister, something most siblings didn't have.

At her comment about lucky he was to have family, the red stag looked away for a moment, and then back at her with a pained smile on his face. "Yeah... It's... Nice... To have family around..." the thought of his older brother made him visibly cringe.

"I'm happy that I got to be so damn lucky..." he mumbled.

A small pause of silence, and then he asked, "You have family around too?"

Spyrre's picture

@Ginger: "Really?" Her tail

@Ginger:
"Really?" Her tail gave an exited wiggle as he offered to call his unusual sister. The mini was very curious to meet this creature and nodded her head eagerly. She wasn´t just wanting to see a weird animal, though that no doubt was quilty for large part of her exitement, but also meeting a new, potential friend which happened to be a sister of Jergens. There wasn´t really been happening much in the forest for a while so experiencing something new was quite a rare treat to her.
"Yes! Or, of course if she wants to come!" Smaller deer exlaimed with a big smile, tilting then again her head with puzzled expression at the stag´s mumble. Would that have been even bigger surprise, if she heard him to have even ANOTHER sibling in the Endless forest!
"Why not? You´d not want her around?" She questioned. Jergens had seemed happier when talking about his sister, and now suddenly he was so tense again. Spyrre raised her ears slightly surprised at his question about HER family, and seemed to stop to think for a moment.
"No. I don´t think that I even have one" The answer was followed by a another shrug, with a tone that she might as well have been talking about the weather. Eh, well, she didn´t seem to be taking such a thing very hard, at least. She probably was a little older than she seemed though, even though being almost a same size as a fawn.

But the response she got

But the response she got might have been worse than she expected, for the stag looked around at himself - his hooves, back, legs and tail - and then looked at her in question.
"uhm, which ones of them are we talking about?..." He asked with a small, innocently confused smile.

@Chicken: There was MORE than

@Chicken:
There was MORE than just those? Her eyes widened, as the stag informed her that the ones on his face weren´t the only ones... and if his motions told anything, there seemed to be a LOT more. Of course, there were lot of scarred deer and she knew few of those, so the mini wasn´t really too timid about them. But those she knew, fought sometime (which of course bothered her, but it wasn´t anything she could really do anything about) and were nowhere near helpless. They could take care of themselves, it was the case of this very young, clearly shy and friendly stag being hurt that way which shocked the smaller deer.
"What happened to you?" She asked after a moment of stunned silence, and sniffed him again carefully to see how bad his wounds were. Fortunately, as far as she saw, he didn´t seem to have problems with moving around before, but that practical detail didn´t really make this case any less disturbing.

Following the doe as she

Following the doe as she moved towards the shallow end of the pond Kiraki swam all along the edge of the pond, but staying deep enough to be able to swim. As soon as the doe started splashing around she rushed into the shallower waters to start splashing around herself. She was quite delighted that the doe was playing with her, not many followed her when she ran off to play, and even those that do often do not have the energy left for continued play after.
Upon being asked her name she stopped splashing around and turned to face the doe. She had some understanding of names being important as everyone always asked her about it. Giving herself a little shake and spraying fine drops of water everywhere she wrinkled her nose a little in concentration before carefully pronouncing her name.

”Kiiii-raaaa-ki.”

Giving a small a quick nod as if to confirm that it was indeed her name she giggled and bounded off into the water again, splashing water all over the doe. She was having far too much fun to think of asking the doe’s name in return.

@Kiraki:
The question got the fawn to stop pramcing around for a moment, as it seemed to have some troubles answering. Well, it did have a quite limited vocabularity, so it wasn´t that surprising that it still had problems wit pronouncing the words. But there it´s patience was finished already, and the child, apparently named "Kiiraki" or something similar, bounced in the water again. The red deer gave out a amused laughter at the fawn´s games, nodded then as a sign of undrestanding and hopped after it trying to splash water on the fawn in return. It would probably get a bit chilly afterwards because getting drenched at middle of the night, but it didn´t really matter yet.
"I´m Spyrre" She told in middle of their game, even though the fawn didn´t seem very interested. Oh well, it was good manners to tell one´s name after asking someone other´s, wasn´t it? Not really expecting Kiraki to answer, the mini took a playful lunge towards the fawn as if trying to push it over but avoided her at the las moment and dashed into the reeds laughing. It was really no use to try to talk too much to a child that energetic who would rather play, was it? Instead, she flattened her small body behind a large tree trunk lying in the water, to see if the fawn could find her. She loved playing hide-and-seek herself, though this wasn´t the sneakiest hiding place she could have with her red fur.

((Hehe, she reminds me of that dog in the movie "Over the hedge". PLAY! <3

Oh, and to everybody, I´m sorry if I´m being boring here, not very good at thinking plot-twists... Feel free to throw in some obstacles/action/whatever if you feel like it. Even though my deer won´t probably like it, I don´t really mind myself in either way. =) ))

(Sorry for the slow reply, have been bit busy lately :3)

The tiny fawn was far too involved in play to pay much attention to what was being said, or to introductions being made for that matter. It was a lot more fun splashing around then trying to figure out words.
Kiraki dived beneath the water at Spyrre’s lunge. Surfacing afterwards after a few seconds, she had lost sight of where the doe had gone.
Craning her neck she tried to look around for her, but it too dark to see very far. Not sure where the doe might have gone Kiraki stuck her head beneath the surface to look around incase the doe had followed her under the water. After a few such unsuccessful attempts she starts to hop closer to the edge of the pond, looking for any potential hiding spots. She stopped and pounced at every possible hiding spot she could find, getting closer and closer to the place where Spyrre was hiding.

Kiraki figured out the game pretty soon. The mini laid in her "hide" grinning to herself while listening the noise which the fawn made trying to find her. It was getting closer, and would probably soon think about looking around the log, though still it sounded like the fawn was jumping around in reeds. Spyrre waited some time in silence only her ears moving, but after a while if the little one still hadn´t found her it would begin to feel quite cold, lying still in the water. Oh well, time to give it some clues then? She wasn´t playing this game to "win" anyway, just purely for fun. On purpose she raised her head a bit so her antlers could be seen over the log, and froze then again for a moment until peeking over her hide to see where the fawn was. Then she dove quickly into hiding again, giggling silently at herself.

Kiraki was still bouncing around in random searches when she spotted a hint of movement to the side of her. Quickly swiveling around to where it had come from she spots the log not too far away from where she was standing. Letting out a small giggle she crouches down low and slowly starts to creep towards the log, sloshing around loudly in the water as she does so, but seeming quite oblivious of the fact.
She snuck closer until her face was almost touching the log before leaping clear over it with a joyful squeal.

”Spyyhhhuurrre! ” She calls out happily in mid air, not getting the name completely right but clearly having paid at least a little bit of attention to what the doe had been saying to her up until now.

Let's face it, Jergens was a show-off. Granted, he couldn't perform his talents here without some thumbs and a good, wallet filled pocket. But he could still act cocky when it came to his weird-ass sister.

Hey, he loved Olay. He really did. After all, she was one of the few in the world that actually bothered to give a damn about him.

He tilted his head in confusion at her question before widening his eyes in understanding. "Naw, I don't mean her... Um... I'm kinda havin' some problems with my brother right now." he stopped there. Obviously refusing to go on. Aveeno's homophobic tendencies were not one of his top ten favorite subjects to talk about.

"Here. I'll go get her. Sit tight." he hoisted himself out from under the idol, once again painfully bashing an antler into it's side before bounding off, the ground vibrating under his heavy hooves.

It didn't take long before he came back, a little red bundle perched atop his head, like a makeshift hat. He walked slowly, making sure that the fuzzy thing on his head wouldn't fall off. He slowly bent his head down to let her slide off his forehead, her little eyes shut.

Sleeping.

"Wake her up if ya wanna talk to her." Jergens said simply, plopping himself back down under the Idol's tears. "She was sleepin' when I found her."

@Kiraki: Ohhoo, sounded like

@Kiraki:
Ohhoo, sounded like she had been found... Spyrre chuckled to herself listening the splashing sound getting closer, trying to silently creep sneakily few steps away of the spot she had peeked before, her side still against the log. Maybe the fawn could hear her moving, but in the name of the game she tried anyway.The mini was actually expecting Kiraki to walk around the large log, but instead she suddenly heard a happy shout from above just as the fawn leaped over the obstakle. She looked up in surprise, only to have a fawn land on her.... or almost on her, atleast. Again. This time, it didn´t come in such a surprise, though. And another surprise, seemed like the fawn had listened what she said earlier anyway, and even remembered her name. Spyrre yelped, trying to roll away from the attack, but ended up on her side in the water trying to avoid the fawn landing on her antlers.

@Ginger:
(You´re welcome! I just liked drawing them. =3 And of course I don´t mind if you want to bring in other characters too. =) )

"Oh?" She tilted her head also as Jergens mentioned his brother, flicking her ears to him curiously. Probably the mini would have been curious enough to ask more and been even more surprised for him to have almost the whole family in this forest, but when offered something more interesting to be exited about, she pretty much forgot the whole thing for now. She was going to meet the duck-thing! The green eyes widened again from exitement, and even though told to wait the little deer couldn´t keep herself completely still. As the stag stood up and trotted along the river to get his sister Spyrre pretty much sprung to her hooves and took also few steps towards the pond, untill found her patience again and stayed by the idol stretching her neck to see what he was doing. She didn´t want to scare the "duck-thing" (yes, she had ended up calling it that since she couldn´t make out the real name to it, even though Jergens had told it. The duck-thing was so much easier to remember than a... "haaayush" anyway.) so it was better to wait for Jergens to bring her, wasn´t it?

When the stag was coming back, Spyrre got almost disappointed thinking that he had not found the creature, until spotted the weird lump of hair on his head. Was THAT it? Even though being determined to NOT scare the "duck" the mini couldn´t help but take few prances forwad and stomping her tiny hooves out of exitement with a expression of pure wonder on her face. Still she didn´t leap at the small animal when it was set down though, instead the mini lowered her head and crept slowly closer sniffing it then carefully.
"She´s... so small. I thought she´d be bit bigger" Spyrre wondered in a slightly lowered voice, taking then a almost shy step away, hesistant to disturb the sleeping "thing"... not getting her eyes off of it, though. Maybe she wasn´t the most polite deer there was, but at least she tried to be considerate of others. It wasn´t nice to wake up someone you didn´t know, wasn´t it?
"She´s cute" The mini exlaimed after a moment of examining, wagging her tail with a smile.

Jergens just grinned at her comments, a weird sense of pride flooding through him. "Yeah, she's a cutie..." he muttered, and gently nosed her with his face, waking her up.

The duck-billed mammal rolled over to her side, her bill opening and closing in a series of sleepy 'clicking' noises before she opened her beady black eyes. The first thing she saw was Spyrre, a stranger deer. She squealed and rolled herself back over, instinctively waddling over to the familiar scent of her brother. Her eyesight was pretty bad, so she relied on scent.

"Gr-r-r-r-r-r-ro-o-ow..." she squeezed her chubby little body between his front legs, growling like a tiny puppy. Jergens bent down, grabbed the tuft of her fur behind her neck and sat her down back in front of Spyrre, talking all the way.

"Come on Olay, she won't hurt ya, say hi." he coaxed her, lightly nuzzling her back. The beaver-like creature stared up the stranger with wary eyes before finally speaking.

"Hai... Ahm O-ay... Yah owh ahth, ow, ight?" because her lack of lips, her words were severely garbled, but the basic meaning was still there.

Hi, I'm Olay... You know that though, right?

She looked skeptically when he attempted to wake the "thing".
"Oh... maybe she´s tired..?" The mini said, just before the platypus started to move. She blinked her eyes, flinching then slightly back as the small animal made weird sounds crawling then quickly at Jergens. Spyrre had never encountered anything even remotely like this, so she naturally had no idea what the noises meant, though the animal moving quickly away from her was quite clear sign. ...did that thing bite? The mini took quickly a step backwards, then froze to stare the animal her large ears slowly moving back and forth. Looked like she had unintentionally scared it after all. Huh.
She flattened her posture slightly looking surprizingly shy as Jergens picked his sister up and placed it again in front of her, unsure of if it disliked her or not. Even though the mini was friendly, she was also a bit socially awkward with people... or creatures she didn´t know.
"Uh... hello." Mini greeted carefully, blinking then her eyes in confusion as the creature spoke.... or atleast she thought it spoke, she just couldn´t really make out of it more than the first word. Spyrre glanced the stag uncertainly before answering at the "duck thing".
"Sorry that we woke you. He told me about you, and, eh, I was curious." Did it undrestand what she said...? It probably did, didn´t Jergens talk to it also? Better be polite with it anyway just in case.
"I´m Spyrre. Nice to meet you."

But the young stag just

But the young stag just shrugged innocently with a slightly apologetic smile.
"I... actually don't know... I guess I just, uhm... ran into some not-so-nice deer..." He said, giving a slightly forlorn smile and chuckle, though the pain of not remembering was obvious on his features.
And as Spyrre sniffed him, more and more small, thin scars showed up underneath his thick, soft coat, which had been hiding them up until now. They were all very thin, but the whiteness of them suggested they had been really quite deep. None of them were recent, though, which, in its own way, was even more upsetting; that meant he'd acquired all of them when he was still a fawn.

If anything, Olay was the more intellgent of the two. Unlike Jergens, she had actually gone off to college... and high school... After all, Jergens didn't even get the chance to finish elementary schooling.

The giant red stag simply rolled over and closed his eye, keeping one open. His ear occasionally swivled around their conversations. It had cooled down a bit, evening coming on now, so he didn't feel the need to sit under the Idol's tears anymore.

The platypus would have smiled if she had had lips. Instead, she clicked her bill in approval, obviously pleased.

"Ah hihe ho heeth hoo Hyyhe!" she purred, slowly waddling closer to her, delicatly poking her bill against her leg.

It's nice to meet you, Spyrre!

She shot a little glare back at Jergens before turn back to the other red deer. "Ih ahighth... I hon hindh." It's alright... I don't mind. She fearlessly came up to her now, her flat bill nibbling at her fur, delicaltly grooming and preening it.

Very polite, this platypus was.

@Chicken: He didn´t know? The

@Chicken:
He didn´t know? The mini couldn´t really undrestand how one could forget something like that, but after some thought, it might be better that he didn´t... If the horror of being beaten up by some very nasty deer would be still fresh in his mind, would the stag still be as frienly as he was now? Probably even more timid and traumatized, atleast.
"Some horrible deer indeed! Why, I should kick them in the face if they were here!" Spyrre grumbled with an angry snort her ears flattening. It was very rare for her get angry though, and it didn´t really last long even now as she was getting concerned of upsetting the stag. Her ears didn´t rise up again, but the expression changed from irritation to slightly sad, and she sighed giving him another nuzzle.
"You poor thing.. Well, they´re not here now so whatever it was, it´s over. Better to forget it, right?" She probably shouldn´t ask more of this, if he didn´t want to speak of it himself. The storm was still rumbling silently somewhere, but the rain seemed to be getting thin.

@Ginger:
The mini blinked again at Olay, as she made more of weird noises. It was probably saying something, she figured, but she still wasn´t sure what. There was some words in all the clicks and gurgles though, she just had to figure out what they were. Well, atleast the platypus didn´t seem angry for what the small deer could tell and it wasn´t running away from her anymore. She gave the duck-billed creature a slight bow as greeting, stopping then to watch puzzled as it poked her legs. Uh, well, maybe it was friendly, since it didn´t hurt so it probably wasn´t trying to bite her... Spyrre glanced at Jergens again noticing that he was dozing off in the stream, bending then down at the little creature with a smile. Whatever it was saying, she WAS cute. The stag didn´t really seem like being very interested for now, so she gave her attention to the fuzzy, red animal which was even smaller than her.
"Uh, sorry, I can´t... really undrestand much what you´re saying" The deer said with slighty quilty tone in her voice, sitting carefully down next to her and sniffing her soft fur. Curiously she observed creature´s round features and somehow quite adorable face, looking then at large stag and then at platypus again.
"I haven´t seen anyone like you before... never knew you could end up here as something like that! You´re really pretty!" She stated exitedly wagging slightly her tail from side to side. Yes, there was many kinds of creatures in the forest, but nothing like this one so far.. the forest was a weird place, indeed.
"...maybe it would be better if your brother was like that too so he wouldn´t be hitting his antlers everywhere." Spyrre added soon, with a grin. She was quite liking of this creature so far.. hopefully it had some kind of sense of humor also.
Chickenwhite's picture

To this, the timid stag

To this, the timid stag smiled heartely, glad to get further away from the dreary subject of his past. He didn't like discussing things he didn't know about... And he affectionately returned the nuzzles from Spyrre, his coat already drying up from the rain.
"Yeah, right? A-and I kinda have the feeling that... Heh, this sounds silly, but... I kinda have the feeling whoever they are... can't reach me here..." He said, his smile growing hopeful, relieved and somehow mysterious as well...
GingerNut's picture

Only a few deer were able to

Only a few deer were able to understand her garbled speech. Very few, so few that she could only think of two that could understand her almost perfectly. Aveeno could only vaugely comprehend her speech, but Rosine and Crybaby seemed to fully get what she was saying.

Still, it always frustrated her when she found that almost noone understood. Jergens only understood a few of her broken words... Which was even sadder.

At the deer's comment, her little eyes welled up with tears. So yet another deer was unable to decipher her speech... A little gurgling sound escaped her throat.

Jergens sighed and hoisted himself up, walking over and gently nudging his sister's side, a small little frown creased on his lips.

"Nice job, Spyrre... Ya made my sister cry." he grinned despite himself. Olay tended to cry alot anyway, it was no biggie.

Spyrre's picture

@Chicken: She tilted slightly

@Chicken:
She tilted slightly her head at him, but let then a smile appear on her face again.
"Well, if they´re from outside, then you should be safe here. It´s not that easy to get in this forest." Spyrre pondered with a small encouraging nod, even though she was still reminded the dangers of this forest. But it wasn´t so easy for just everyone to walk in, wasn´t it, so it probably was true that the deer responsible of Redd´s wounds would have some trouble to find him again if they for some reason would want to.
"There´s also a lot of good deer here who would protect you anyway. Bad deer get chased off if they get troublesome." She added, nodding again, quite trustingly herself. It was mostly a good forest anyway, with good deer in it. surely everything would turn out well, wouldn´t it? A smile on her face got a bit more optimistic again.
"Don´t worry. You can rest a bit if you are tired, I´ll keep watch for you."

@Ginger:
The reaction she got out of Olay wasn´t the one she had expected. Spyrre had thought that she said only good things to the duck-creature, but suddenly it started to look quite unhappy. She blinked, not at first realizing that the platypus was indeed crying, but her expression turning soon into shocked one as the stag "scolded" her and sprung again on her feet.
"Ahh...! I´m sorry! I didn´t mean to!" She exlaimed anxiously eyes wide, and looking extremely quilty of... something she wasn´t even quite sure of. But it had to be something that she said, why would Olay feel hurt otherwise? Eh, the mini didn´t really seem to deal well with suddenly crying people even though Jergens didn´t seem to be too bothered by it.
"I didn´t... Whatever I did, I´m sorry!"

The red stag overdramatically rolled his eyes at her. "Please... She cries every hour. Not a big deal..." he muttered bitterly, a smirk curling over his lips.

Olay herself sniffled a few more times and once more bumped her bill into Spyrre's leg, chittering sadly. "Ih honth her hoth..." she clicked. Jergens pricked his ears, nodding a little.

"Um... She says that it isn't yer fault." he translated, looking at the smaller anime to make sure he was right. She bobbed her head up and down furiously in return.

"Ah ehth had... Whaenh heerh hanth unherhandh..." she explained, beady eyes fixed on Spyrre's face. Jergens nodded, looking back at her.

Kiraki had not planned ahead as to where she would be landing and came crashing down on top of the poor doe before tumbling off with a splash into the water as her momentum carried her. Her head quickly broke the surface with a giggle as she kicked at the water, attempting to try and find her way back onto Spyrre’s side where she had initially landed. She managed to toss her fore legs onto the doe and stay hooked onto her with them but her back legs were still dangling in the water. Looking up at her she grinned broadly.

"But Y'know, I found it quite easy to get in here... I just ran..." He said, the blue of his eyes flickering pale-white for a moment.
There was something unusual about those eyes, like they didn't really belong to him...

@Ginger: She looked back and

@Ginger:
She looked back and forth between Jergens and the platypus in confusion, the sudden panic fading away again. Her eyes blinked soon in undrestanding as the stag translated the billed creature´s words to smaller deer. So THAT was what it was about?
"Oh... So that´s why... It must be hard when they can´t undrestand you." Spyrre reached down to nudge the small animal with her nose empathically pricking her ears. Her emotions seemed to switch around pretty quickly without any trouble.
"But you seem to get it well to me! And I can learn, and everyone else, right? Don´t cry!" The first sentence was directed at Jergens, as the last one was for Olay. She was now trying to cheer her up, determined now to figure out the speech of the duck-like animal. The mini sat down again, looking expectantly at the two with slightly wagging tail.
"Let´s try again! I can figure it out!"

@Kiraki:
It was a good thing that the fawn was quite small and light creature, since otherwise having it land right on the mini deer´s side could have hurted a bit more. Now it just slightly kicked her as it fell over it´s targed, ending up splashing in the water again. Well, atleast Kiraki had a soft landing. Spyrre gasped air few times, rolling then laughing on another side to look where the fawn had gone. Rough play it was, but she didn´t really mind.
"You found me! You´re kinda good in this game!" She exlaimed with a chuckle as Kiraki climbed again from the water.
"You want to play again? You can hide this time, and I´ll come looking for you?" Now that she thought of it, she had never played hide-and-seek in the dark before...

@Chicken:
"Oh?" She blinked her eyes again, not really knowing what to say to the stag as he told how easy it was to him to get in here. He had just... ran? Somehow she had expected it to be a little more complicated than that... but she actually didn´t really know. The mini herself had always been here. She had no idea where she came from, or how she got here, she just.... was. It wouldn´t be that upsetting otherwise, but the thought of that everyone, including predators or evil people could just come in as Redd had... No, there had to be some reason to it! Otherwise everyone could also leave as they wanted, right? And no-one had not really gotten out after getting in the forest, as long as Spyrre knew. Someting in it disturbed her slightly, but she shrugged the feeling off. Sounded kind of like... a trap... but, it wasn´t of course, it was a safe place for inhabitants of the forest, wasn´t it? Yes, she wanted to believe that the Forest was a good place. It had to be.
"...well, maybe it was because the Gods saw you needed a safe place, and let you come." The mini said after thinking a moment. She wasn´t really very religious, but she didn´t need to, since it was a fact that there was two gods dwelling in the statues on the steep hill. She had seen them herself.
"They won´t let just anyone in, right?" Something in his eyes caught suddenly her attention for a moment, it was like they had... shone white for second. The mini flinched in surprise, but the flicker was gone. She peered at him, but then didn´t say anything but reached for some more blueberries as casually as she could. She had to be just seeing things.... No need to bother the stag about it.

(Whoops, the last one turned out a bit too long... Sorry if my character thinks a bit too much. ^^; )
