How do I Scan Art and Such

Yeah, I'm pathetic. My sister has a new scanner, and I'm going to use it to maybe scan some drawings. I think I know how to scan them. But what happens after that? Does the drawing pop up on screen? How do I put it on here, or Devart or something?

Well after I tell my scanner

Well after I tell my scanner I'm done scanning it saves it to a folder called "My Scans" and I can view it there. Then I can upload it to my DeviantArt account just like any other piece of art and such.

That's what my scanner does, though I don't have to save mine to a file I actually have tons of other choices for where to save it (I can save it Microsoft Word if I want to lol)

That´s pretty much it, the

That´s pretty much it, the scanner scans the picture and saves it... but I´d recommend that you edit the scan a bit in photoshop or something. It may depend much of the scanner, but atleast my scanner likes to make pictures usually "too sharp" so the lines look bad and it may be too light in colour, so adding contrast usually helps... And the pictures are often sized too big for screen (at least to me) so it is a good idea to make them smaller so you can see them better.
