Hi, welcome to the community! I think you'll like it here, it's a nice friendly place to explore and check in on.

The Forest doesn't have a goal, no. It's more a free roam, and open world, some might even say a living picture for you to adventure and have fun in! It's usually very peaceful, no fighting.

It's also a place to roleplay and create a character, but you'll learn about that as you go along. For now you just may want to enjoy fawnhood and have your own fun! Your fawn can always play with me if he's lonely: Click for my pictogram!

Toya is with you now little fawn. And yes, that was an aggressive deer we saw. Some are like that.

Stitches is very sweet. Toya will watch out for you though.

Aw. There are very few rude deer here, and if they are, it is usually part of their Role Play, and not reflective of the person playing the deer. -=usually=- people are always nice to fawns.

You already seem to have the hang of RP if you know how your Stitches feels and thinks. Have you considered making a biography for him?

P.S. you are very good at communicating how you feel in forest, I can tell Stitches was afraid of that crowd.

Theres no talking in the game actually. People make biographies for their deer so that people can find eachother and interact in the comments like we are doing. I clicked on your picto in the "map" Which is in the upper left menu on this site.

Check it out! You can see all the players in the game. If you click on one, it will take you to their homepage, if they have one.

Roleplay is like a mix of acting and co-writing. You and others take turns writing back and forth to build off each other and tell a more complete story.

This is the second time lately that I have heard of an adult deer attacking fawns. Even if they are in-character They probably need to remember that not everyone else is.

No problem! Its also our responsibility to new players to be more understanding. That blog takes a hard edge on it, but really, in my opinion, fawns should be able to get away with anything and I wouldnt take offence. That bit about politeness is just a guide on how to not step on less understanding peoples toes. You need to use the emote buttons to learn them! However, as far as Iv seen, you have caught on quickly, and are very good at expressing yourself!

Weather: yes. The creators of the game will sometimes show up as god-deer in the forest! Often this is accompanied by an amazing display we call "abiogenesis" and often the weather and scenery will change. THis can be anything from confetti, to snow, to rain! Sometimes we have giant mushrooms or flowers and other neat things, but it is temporary.

Those statues: Yes. Those are representative of Michael and Auria, the game creators. We had some fun bowing before them, the spell we got from that is called the "devout" spell.

Costumes: Unfortunately as a fawn, your set disappears after a bit. When you are an adult, it will stick! However, you can hit escape, go to the network settings, and save your costume! When it wears off, you just hit escape again and go to network, and "load" your previous appearance. As a fawn this gets annoying, so I wouldnt worry about it. As an adult, its nice in-case you lose your set.

Pausing: Nope. No need. Its all live, and nothing will kill you.

Candles: Candles are from an event (I believe). During Halloween, certain spells are available that are not available all the time.

Biography: The TEF guide has some good resources on creating a character, but for starts, just make a new blog entry, and title it with your Deers name. Then, all you need to do is start by giving a brief description of your character, and any other information you think would be handy for others to know about Stitches. Some biographies are very beautiful and have a LOT of stuff, some are very simple. Start simple, and just build from there. You can go to "recent posts" and see whats going on in the community, many, but not all of those, are updated bios.

Note: You do not have to make a bio to play the game! This is just an option for people who want to verbally interact with others in the community. It is a wonderful community though, a lot of good people here, and you can make friends by reaching out to others and role playing with them.
