Okay, well, if you were in highschool its so much easier to dress up as crazy stuff because 1. Everyone's doing it, 2. No one cares, and 3. There are so many spirit days going on no one knows if you are just dressing yourself or spirity ^__^

Well, you are in junior high. (good luck 0_0) Confidence was a huge issue for me. I had no self esteem at all. But when you are confident and hold yourself high you will get away with it. Just believe in yourself. Thats what I did ^^

TIP: why not phone up one of your friends and see if they are dressing up too? It always makes you feel better when someone else you know is doing it... just in case ;3

My mother used to call me a mime because I never talked, and I still get that way sometimes when people argue; I shut myself up in every way and just go on mute. It's really not the best tactic, especially at school. You need to stand up for yourself.

I am not kidding when I say this--honest to God and on my life--but Jack Sparrow cured me. I loved him so much I started acting like him, started thinking like him, and that meant I had to be witty and a lot more social than I had been. And I was happy to find that I got more friends, I was happier because I was just more open with the world, prouder to accept things. I was the Phantom of the Opera last year for Halloween and everybody loved it; I didn't think I'd enjoy the attention but everybody does. Everybody loves a little attention. And I know that sounds snobbish and preppy but it is true: even the most antisocial people need eyes on them at least once in their life.

rofl I dunno, I guess I'm just trying to say you really shouldn't be afraid. I'm an extremely brave person, and maybe you aren't, but I'm hoping you will be. We have this spirit day where I have to dress up as a Chinese person, so if you do this, I'll do that. I'd love to hear that you went as a hippie. You picked that outfit out and you're not going to waste it, right?

And if you're the only hippie, so what? The teachers and other students will look up to you for being brave and school-spirited enough to be so. You'll stand out in a positive way; people are going to wish they were you because you have this amazing costume, and they might talk with you, they might think better of you.
