Skokey spent the next day bashing his antlers against the larger Birch trees. Fenqua looked from a distance, she was starting to worry if he was going into a relapse. Large red flower petals tumbled from his antlers every time he struck a tree. He continued to do this for several hours.
At one point, he stopped. His head was still against a tree, and he just glared at the ground. Fenqua gingerly went up to him. "Skokey... Are you alright?"
"No, I'm not alright." He leaned his weight against the tree, "I don't know what to do..."
"I'm sure she'll be fine."
"I don't think so, Fen. They're horrible creatures, she's probably dead by now!" He lowered his ears and tail, "It's all my fault. I should have driven those things away."
"It's not your fault, Skokey, you know that."
"Then what am I supposed to do? I can't just sit here and do nothing!" He rammed his antlers against the tree again, a small flurry of petals flying off his antlers. There weren't many left.
"You should go after her then." A voice came by, one that was slightly familiar.
Skokey turned his head and studied the stag. He had a blueish coat, with a Masquerade mask. His pictogram read "Yorres". Skokey remembered him from some time ago, they had a very brief conversation. He never thought he would see him again this soon.
"Yorres. What are you doing here?" Skokey curtly asked.
"I heard what happened. You seem very confused, Skokey."
"Yeah, I am... I'm not sure what to do."
"I think you should go find her. What those humans did should not go unnoticed. You should find her before it's too late."
"How can I find her? I don't know what it's like out there. There's more chance of me being killed as well."
Yorres turned his head in the direction of the edge. "Yes, but what about your sister? Are you saying you aren't willing to rescue her?"
Skokey looked down and lowered his ears. He had almost forgotten about her in all his complaining. He wanted to bring her back, but didn't know how. "Yorres, how could I find her? Is there a way?"
Yorres shook his head slightly, "I'm afraid only her scent could guide you. And I'm sure it's long gone by now."
Fenqua made her way over to Skokey and leaned her head against him, "What will you do?"
Skokey looked at her in concern. He rubbed his face against her after a few moments. "I don't have much choice. I'm gonna go after her. Maybe there's still a chance that she's safe."
Fenqua sighed with a worried tone, which made Skokey feel a little saddened by his decision. He wondered how much it would hurt her if he ended up being killed out there. Yorres nodded, and offered to lead him to the edge. Skokey accepted, and the three of them proceeded.
Yorres stopped at where the Birch trees began to fade into thicker bunches of pines and maples. "Well, here it is." He looked Skokey in the eye, "I wish you best of luck. And may the Twin Gods watch over you."
Skokey nodded solemnly. He was about to leave when Fenqua pulled his ear, "I'm coming with you."
He shook his head, "No, Fen. I can't let you be in danger. Stay here."
"But I want to find her too! Humans took away my parents, I want to punish them with you!"
"I never said I was going to punish them, I just want my sister back! Now please, Fenqua... Stay here. I don't want you to be hurt." He held her to him, "I don't want the possibility of seeing you die. Just stay here."
Fenqua was getting angry, but as soon as Skokey embraced her, she calmed down. Reluctantly, she nodded, "Okay... I'll stay. But please, Skokey, be careful..."
Soon the two of them parted, and Skokey disappeared into the thicket. Yorres tried to calm her down, but she politely excused herself and ran back to the Playground. It seemed so empty there, she wasn't expecting anyone to be there. But there was a stag standing tall on the boulder. There in the red light of the setting sun was Vessel, waiting for someone to come back. Fenqua and Vessel had met many times before, and they became pretty good friends. She slowly walked up to the boulder, and Vessel jumped down to the ground to meet her.
Fenqua sighed, "He's gone now. Into the other side. I just pray he'll be alright."
Vessel nodded firmly, trying to assure her of his safety. The sun was steadily creeping downwards, and the light became darker and darker. Vessel's thin frame inched closer to her, he tried to comfort her as best he can.
"Vessel, I know what you're trying to do. And I thank you for it, but I just can't stop thinking something aweful's going to happen to him." Fenqua tried to keep tears from rolling down her cheeks, but to no avail.
Vessel turned his colorless eyes to the ground for a moment, and then went over to Fenqua, and embraced her. He had no idea how to comfort someone without words, and this was the best he could do. Fenqua accepted it though, knowing he was trying his best. She sobbed silently, slowly calming down as Vessel stood motionless. He had never seen a doe cry before.
Fenqua calmed down enough to speak, "I'm sorry, Vessel. I shouldn't be crying. I... I'm just so worried..."
Vessel nodded at her, showing that he understood. They still stood there for several minutes, Vessel was becoming a little uncomfortable being this close to Fenqua. He knew she needed comfort, and decided to stay as long as he needed. The sun eventually slid under the horizon, and the last beam of sunlight disappeared. Fenqua opened her eyes as she witnessed what happened next.
A large array of blue mist was emitting from Vessel's body. At the very moment the sun disappeared, he started to change. His eyes became hollow, and started to leak blood, turning his drawn face pale. His coat turned from a fine tan to a dark blue, the large red squiggle turning to many different yellow dashes and spots. The only thing that didn't change was his antlers. Fenqua studied this for a few moments, watching as his face changed and his pelt dissolved to look like another.
Vessel looked at her, incredibly ashamed of what just happened to him. He looked away and lowered his ears. He tried wiping the blood trinkling down his face, but it didn't stop. Soon, he backed away, and tried to hide his face. But Fenqua came over and nuzzled him.
"Vessel... How did that happen?" She asked in awe, but Vessel was too ashamed to answer. "It was beautiful." She smiled sweetly at him.
He raised his head a little, amazed at what she had said to him. He blinked his hollowed eyes, but still looked away. He didn't know what to do. He sighed, and gave Fenqua a nuzzle before taking off. Fenqua followed him, and discovered that he was going to the edge of the forest. They both stopped to where the trees changed suddenly.
Vessel looked back at her, trying to tell her what he was doing. Fenqua seemed to understand and nodded. Soon, Vessel also went through to the other side, leaving Fenqua all alone again.

yeah, this is kind of strange, but i was being... *ahem* persuaded to write another chapter. and so i did. i know its a little short, but i needed to write it anyway. and dont get any ideas about Vessel and Fenqua! you know Vessel has a hard time expressing himself. man i totally forgot about that set... also, im giving every guest at least two chapters, so Yorres will make another appearance
anyway, the next chapter will definately be better, but i have to think it out a little more. and the chapter after that... oh man, i think youll like it. XD
I really liked this one..
