umm... just a little forwarning... this might be a little... i dunno, adult. its a very adult topic at least. so... yeah XD

It was mid-day, a little past noon. Three does sat in the shallows of the Pond in a line. Fenqua sat on the left, Fulu in the middle, and Aspen on the right. Fulu stared into the shallows with a grave look on her face. Fenqua and Aspen sat there to comfort her.

Fenqua sighed, "You know, Fulu... This isn't abnormal."

Fulu sniffed, and said with much strain in her voice, "Then how did it work for you two?"

Aspen and Fenqua looked at each other. Aspen looked at the young doe sitting between them, "It's not like it happens instantly... Some have to keep trying. You think I got pregnant on the first try?"

Fulu glanced up at her, "Apparently you didn't have to try very hard..." She looked back down at the water again, "And you about you, Fen? You got it instantly..."

Aspen raised an eyebrow at the doe across from her. Fenqua shrugged, "What can I say? Your brother and I have had the best luck since we met..."

Fulu sobbed a little more, Aspen looking at Fenqua again, telling her that it wasn't helping. Fenqua looked down and sighed.

"I wish there was something we could tell you... You know, to make it all right..."

Fulu calmed down enough to talk again. "It's okay, I get it... We just have to keep at it... I thought after two months I would be pregnant by now..."

Aspen nuzzled her, "Don't worry, Fulu, it'll come when the time is right. It'll come soon, don't you worry..."

Fulu nodded, and Fenqua nuzzled her this time. "I'll pray for you, okay?..."

"Okay... Thank you..."

Not too far away, Skokey and Zilant were sitting under his willow home. Skokey looked at the three does conversing, feeling Fulu's sadness through that uncanny sibling link of theirs. Zilant stared at the water, keeping silent.

Skokey took in a breath. "You know, this is actually kinda common."

"Yeah..."

"But you know, you just... keep trying. Some does have a hard time getting pregnant. Some get pregnant just like that." He tapped his hoof on the ground at the end of his statement. Zilant only nodded his response. "Don't worry." He nudged the dark blue stag, and smiled. "It won't be long, now. I can feel it. Something about her tells me it'll be soon."

"How do you know?"

Skokey looked at his sister again, his smile fading down to a smirk. "Call it brotherly intuition."

Zilant shook his head, "I don't know, Skokey... What if she can't have a baby? What if she's... unable to?"

Skokey furrowed his brow at the thought, "That's pretty rare..."

"It's still possible."

Skokey shot him a look. "It's only been two months, Zilant. Don't be considering that yet."

Zilant nodded again, this time looking at his mate. He saw her being comforted by the two does, he know they were giving her good advice. He noticed them standing up, and walking over to where they were sitting. Zilant stood, followed by Skokey, and came out of the willow leaves. They were still a ways away, when he felt a quick rub on his shoulder.

Skokey scuffed his shoulder against Zilant's. "Keep trying, bud. You two will get there. You can count on that." He gave him a warm smile.

Zilant smiled in return. He soon met Fulu, giving her a good nuzzle for comfort.

Fulu nuzzled him back, "We should keep trying..."

"I know... I know that..."

Fulu nodded, and still leaned against him, trying to get that last bits of tears out of her eyes. Fenqua rejoined with Skokey, standing by his side, while Aspen stepped back a little. Aspen, Fenqua, and Skokey bid their farewells, and left the two alone.

"It'll be soon." Zilant started, offering a smile to Fulu. "I can feel it."

Fulu looked at him, smirking slightly, "How do you know?"

Zilant looked behind him, and returned his gaze to her. "Call it... intuition..."
