I stood frozen to the spot, all the muscles in my body were tensed. My hazel brown eyes were wide looking like little hazel pools. I couldn't beleive it, infront of my was a forest..and it seemed endless. My little hooves struck the ground and I moved off at a run my powerful hind legs working away as i tore across the grass.
I stopped, staring at my new discovery...
A beautiful pond , hidden by trees was infront of me. Its dark blue waters were dotted with lillypads, the lillies flowers had opened their long white and pink petals stretching out for the sun. Green and blue dragonflies darted about, their transparent wings glimmering in the rays of the sun that found their way through the dense canopies. Around the edge of the pond were willow trees there long branches drooping down towards the water.
I suddenly realised how thirsty I was, I plunged forwards and lowered my head to the water, drinking. It tasted clear and refreshing.
Thats when I heard it. The hoofbeats in the distance, my ears swivelled around catching the sound, the hoofbeats got louder and the water on the pond began to ripple. My eyes were staring wide in amazement as several deer charged out from the forest straight past me and onwards. I was lost and confused and decided to follow them, they were pretty fast but I had all the enrgy of a newborn fawn and I caught up with them as they stopped to rest in a fairy circle.
The nearest to me was quite a small deer, it had a red pelt and peacock feathers seemed to be growing 'naturally' from around its skull, it turned its head towards me and I realised it was wearing a mask. It was the face of a human woman its lips poised in an 'O' shape, its cheeks blushed. I looked up and tried to read the pictogram above its head, I couldn't understand the word completely. The small deer stepped forwards and nuzzled its neck against mine, then bowed. I bowed to. The other deer turned to look at me, they were all fully grown, their beautiful antlers stretching up and their necks curved in a proud way. The small red deer's head began to glimmer, then I felt my pelt glowing with a bright light. I looked down to my side, all the brown fur on me had gone. I looked like a butterfly! Two of the deers fell onto their backs as if They were laughing. I joined in . The red deer looked to me then settled down, I did to and after a minute I felt a power within me. I stood again and looked to the red deer, my pelt began to glow and I stretched my neck towards the red deer, then its pelt began to ignite before changing to a black colour with a white belly. The red deer bowed , then ran off into the forest. I lifted my head and let out a long call, 'Thankyou, Friend'
