AN EPIC STORY ~ CHAPTER FOUR - finished and illustrated!

Quad opened his eyes. He layed still for a moment, waiting for anything, and nothing came. He sat his head up and brought up the courage to examine this unfamiliar and strange environment

"Whe-where am I?"

He was surrounded by a giant wall covered in green moss. It smelled oddly of mold, and the air was a sticky mass of smog. He was laying on a thick blanket of wet leaves, and he realized the part of himself he had been laying on was soaked to the bone. With an effort, he hoisted himself onto four feet and shook off the water. He... was he in a sort of cage?

"Hello! Is anyone there?" He called out. His voice echoed through the space, dissapearing into the air. "Hello?!"

Suddenly, he heard a noise behind him, and turned around. There, as quickly as it had come, was a small fawn. It was covered in dirt, and there was an oddly shaped dot under his left eye.

Quad went over to the little thing, and sniffed it. Then it opened its eyes. It turned its head very very slowly to Quad, who stood there as still as ice.

"Where am I?" The fawn spoke, and Quad recognized it to be a female voice. It coughed and shivered.

"I... I dont know" Quad admitted softly, and helped to nuzzle the fawn to its feet. It stood on very shakey legs. Quad thought it best to sit down then, and let the fawn lean up against the mossy wall. He decided it would be best to gather up as much information as he could.

"What is your name, little fawn?"

The little thing looked up, and coughed. "My name is Sykora. Do you know where Martisol went?"

"Umm... no, sorry" Quad said gently to the fawn. Why was he and this little fawn together in a sort of plant-filled chamber? The little fawn sneezed, probably from the mold. "Are you okay?"

"Yes" Sighed Sykora, although she looked far from it. "I'm tired though... what happened?"

Goodbye...

I will never be able to come onto Endless Forest again in 5 days. My computer has been taken away from me, and I am sad, and I will have nothing to do... But yeah. I just want to say *teary-eyed* Goodbye to all of my friends *hugs everyone*

I shall miss you, and I have printed each and every one of my fanarts to look at while I sit on my couch (yes I have a couch for a bed in my room) of depression. There I will write bad poetry and try tracing the deer from my wildlife drawing book.

I... shall never see you again for five days. Goodbye.

CHAPTER THREE ~An Epic Story~ --finished--

-FINISHED. JUST TOUCHUPS.-

"Come on Sykora!" A young fawn bounced around happily through the forest. "Why are ya taking so long? C'mon, lets play!"

A once life-filled and peppy Sykora slowly emerged from the protection of a tree. She looked around fearfully, then to her friend. "Are you sure you want to play? You know... there have been reportings of deer being killed..."

"Dont worry Sykora!" Martisol said, nuzzling her friend. "I will protect you from any danger. You can count on me!" She reared up, as if attacking many foes at once. Sykora giggled.

"Okay. Try to catch me!" She ran along the playground, jumping from rock to rock as she used to. Martisol giggled and laugh as she tried chasing the little bullet in and out of little secret hideouts they had found together at the playground. They ended up falling off a rock into a clump of leaves at the bottom, and laughed until they couldn't breathe.

"Martisol," Sykora said, looking up at the cloudy sky.

"Yeah?"

"Lets be friends forever"

Martisol let out a roar of approval and wrestled her friend to the ground. "Race ya to the ruins! Last one's a wrotten mushroom!" She sped off towards the ruins, Sykora right on her tracks. The wind whistled past her, encouraging her on, but Sykora was becoming quickly tired.

"Wait! Wait for me! Slow down a bit!" She panted. Whew. Why was she so tired?

"Wanna rest?" Martisol looked back over her shoulder to the fatigued Sykora.

Sykora nodded, reliefed.

"Okay" Martisol said. She watched her friend settle down in the middle of the path. "I'll be right back!" She walked along the track to the ruins, where she had hid her secret pinecone she had wanted to show Sykora from before. It was huge. And she knew it was special. Walking down the path, she heard a faint cry, and then a thrustle of grass. Martisol's ears pricked.

CHAPTER TWO ~An Epic Story~ -finished

Atiq awoke with a start, the image of a lifeless and clearly dead doe haunting him from his dream. Beads of sweat were streaming down his forehead, and he was shivering. Quad, beside him, was fast asleep. Rutilus, on the other side, was also asleep, although he was usually a light sleeper.

Occasionaly Atiq would get visions of his early childhood abandonment, just screenshots of what happened, but never before of a deer he had never seen before. He shivered. Quad beside him stirred, and Atiq thought it would be best to not disturb his two bunkmates, so he silently made his way out of the tall grasses into the early dawn. There was fresh dew upon the leaves, and the morning doves were cooing softly.

Atiq stretched his sore muscels and took a quick dip in the pond to relieve himself of the persperation his dream had caused him. A frog croaked nearbye. The image came back... of the dead doe... what does it mean? Atiq shook himself off on the dry soil and sat down, waiting for answers.

Atiq got dreams of death all the time... mostly from his early childhood, as stated before. But something about this time really hit him hard. Something about that doe...

"Hey Atiq!" Roared Quad, his zombie antlers drooping from sleep. "Your up early today. You okay?"

Atiq shifted his gaze to the young stag. Should he tell him? Or would he simply make fun of him. Maybe he could give it a try.

"Quad," Atiq started, "I had a dream last night..." Quad sat down beside Atiq.

"A dream about what?"

"There was this doe, and... and" He couldn't bring the picture back to his mind. He sighed helplessly and rested his head on his hooves.

"Okay. So you had a dream about a doe. Is that it?" Quad couldn't help but let out a sly smirk.

Of course Atiq noticed. "No no, it was different... She.. she was dead. It... it was horrible" He shook his head, as if trying to relieve the thought.

AN EPIC STORY ~CHAPTER ONE~ --illustrated!

"ISISS!!" yelled a fawn, no more than a few days old and already running and jumping around with the others. The young deer skidded up to Isis, one of the does who enjoyed watching the young ones play, gossiping with the other does or even participating in with the Fawn play.

At the moment she was just emerging from the cave of does, a place where only female deer attended to enhance their talents and doeish qualities.

The fawn, flying through the air towards the unaware doe, was named Sykora, and had been transfered to the Cave of Does when her mother had died while giving birth to her. Sykora was cared for by the many childrenless does there, and very much enjoyed all the attention she got.

Wam.

Sykora bombarded into Isis, creating a curiously loud sound. The two deer sat on the ground where they had fallen, dazed for a moment. But of course Sykora was quick to recover and started jumping around the confused Isis.

"Isis! Isis! Isis! Guess what?"

Isis the doe lifted her head to the eager fawn. "What on earth was that for, Sykora?" She got up slowly, and shook the twigs and dirt off her pelt, eyeing the fawn suspiciously.

"Emiva told Lacey to come and talk to you!!" The fawn jumped around Isis.

"Emiva? Oh no." Emiva was the old, elderly leader of the Cave of Does, and usually whatever she had to say wasnt that optimistic. But why would she ask Lacey to come and ask her? Hm. Isis pondered over this thought, while at that same exact moment, Lacey come out of a clump of bracken.

"ISIS." Lacey puffed, clearly exhausted and fatigued. "I was looking for you everywhere"

"What is it?" Isis asked her friend, lending a helpful nuzzle to encourage what was to be said. Lacey looked into Isis's eyes.

"You have been summoned."

"Summoned! Summoned! Isis has been summoned!" Sykora danced around the two deer, clearly off in her own world as little fawns do when they dont know that there is danger about.

"It--its coming" She whispered under her breath, her eyes a desperate hue. "Its coming!"

"Shhh...shh... what is coming? What do you mean?" An older deer asked, her voice sharp and cracked at the end, the result of old age. The elder stopped, looking into the eyes of the younger doe. "No... not the..."

"Yes!" The young deer croaked, her eyes clouded. "It is! At last! It is here..." Her voice drifted off.

"No, come back to us Mio, dont let go." Another older doe stood up, her attention caught. She drifted to the young doe's side. "Breathe. And tell us what you saw."

The young doe breathed in a withered breath, and shook, a new eerie calmness clouding her voice. "I saw the eye of the plague, the eye of the body of the plauge, I saw..." she closed her eyes, as if it was painful to take in even the tiniest breath, "I saw death, mother" Tears welled from her eyes.

"No..." An elder doe whispered, nuzzling her daughters cheek. "It will be okay, it will all be-"

The young doe's eyes grew big, the full moon of her pupils allight with a new flame. She nuzzled her mother weakly back... and, with her eyes still open, breathed in her last barely audible breath, "Its coming."

And then she was gone.

The old crone of a deer looked from her daughter up to the sorrowful night sky. She spoke, quietly but dutifully, "Lacey." She swallowed to herself. "Bring me the deer that you saw in your dream."

A small and young brown doe emerged from the interior of the cave, great sadness clouded in her eyes. "All of them, Emiva?"

The old deer swallowed again and closed her eyes. "Yes. All of them. Isis, Shin, Atiq, Squeegie, and Lihl"
