I missed my 4 year TEFc-day!
Yup. That's right, I've been stalking all y'all for over four years now! And I have no regrets about 'wasting' four glorious years here. How could I regret making friends that I can rely on when I'm feeling down? Reading and playing with everyone in the Forest always put a smile on my face, even if my lil doe runs from everyone, lol.
When I stepped into the Forest on December 23, 2007, I didn't know a soul. I was one of those many scared fawns that didn't want to mess up and seem like a total noob because I didn't know what I was doing. The running part hasn't changed for my oldest character, but I feel like I can approach anyone now and be able to have confidence in myself that I won't and can't mess up. I think this.. this learning experience has helped me in my real life, at least in a small way. When I came upon the community in April, I lurked and lurked and lurked. For basically my first few years apart of it. I again went through the process of gaining some confidence in myself and now know I can speak my mind here without a terrible backlash that I always thought would happen.Thanks to TEF and TEFc, I've changed for the better.
I know the Forest isn't the same as it was four years ago, but things happen and things change. Eventually, I think we'll find some balance between the drama llamas and those who are ready and willing to leave. I miss quite a few people who have left and I still wonder if they'll come back, but I've made friends from those who have come to the community not too long ago. This game that we all love is different than what it once was and I hope to stick around long enough for it to be a totally peaceful and relaxing place again, even if that takes a few more years.
