-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Sam
Alias: Red
Gender: Female, but often mistaken for a male due to her mannerisms and appearance.
Favorite Food: Fried potatoes, sweet potatoes, broiled potatoes...
Size: #6-#10
Forest given abilities: (Yet to discover) Able to transform into a mouse at will. This form is used in order to discretely observe others and gather information. However, certain things will remain such as eye shape.
Written Description: Curved, sturdy antlers with a light amber-brown shade atop a mane of red-orange that seems to curve at the bangs, upwards. Thick fur along the neck and torso of a light, pink-peach shade fading into a red-ish maroon and dark velvet. thinner fur along the back and legs to provide quick movement and easy cleaning. Hard, rounded hooves of a deep dark maroon color, gradually fading into a light pink along the knees of her limbs. A pale face within the light, with sharp dark chocolate eyes. Round ears that have thick fur and blend into the mane and neck fur easily, and a short fluffy tail.
General Issues: She is not used to quiet, or the lack of bullets. Paranoid of loud noises and generally does not approach without caution. Will eye strangers carefully. Does not like to sit still unless necessary. Has a hard time backing away from a fight once engaged. Quick temper at times, but not emotionally driven. Might also resort to violence rather quickly.
Has had some time to considerably calm down, but will actively avoid de-drink plaates and other areas prone to sudden sound. Growing agitated due to not being engaged in combat and lacking knowledge about using what her current body has to offer.
I'll let em' hit first and see what I can do with that.
Skill Traits: Able to run long distances for a great period of time due to high amounts of stamina and muscle build up. Not a muscle head, but has a great deal of strength. Quick reflexes, very alert. Will use the environment to her advantage. Excellent at naming things. ((lolnope))
Personality (TYPE): ISTJ-A
Personality: Generally very observant and quiet, but will not always wait for someone to make the first move. A reactive person- very aware of her surroundings and likely to use them to her advantage if necessary. If caught off guard, Sam becomes instinctive and their body will move on their own. Their mind might not understand that they are a deer, but their body certainly does. This applies to flight/fight responses more than anything else.
Will observe strangers, but if she finds
you staring- she'll get confrontational. Depends on the way, but Sam is unfamiliar with behavior here and will more than likely be aggressive. Just generally dislikes eyes on her.
If fighting, she becomes incredibly competitive. May even see it as a game of hide and beat the shit outta you at some point. But if it's a fight she can't win, she'll probably retreat to lick her wounds and get revenge later. If threatened, she relies on instinct as an immediate response where knowledge is lacking.
Home World: A variation of the modern human world in a war zone. (WIP)
Life Span: Sam is a 23 year old human being with a life span of 100 years, and is mortal.
However, time in the forest passes much more slowly compared to her world.
important things to note are- when injured, sam will leak blood and
embers. Every now and then, she may have days of pure lethargy and inactivity due to black markings that appear on her body. They are not noticeable unless one parts the fur or gets a good look at her face- but these symbolize areas hit by a grenade. These symptoms increase when entering another world.
Diet: Omnivorous, but will stick to eating plants for now.

I better see your face at least once you red eyed old fart.)

As of late...
September 3rd, 2017
Took the full year carefully and focused entirely on keeping in good physical shape and figuring out what exactly was edible. Burned more calories than I could recover and had some sweaty, awful and painful nights through October into November. Avoided most social contact to observe rather than interact and network at the moment, to gauge who exactly in the forest was the most approachable. There were plenty of friendly, harmless beings, but some that looked tiny and harmless could be absolute monsters in private.
Still couldn't do more than open the hollows of trees to try and find items stored in them, and even then none of them were mine or my weapons. It seemed like the forest knew this too- kept changing what was inside each tree after a while. Other creatures didn't quite seem aware of that function that the trees had- that you could press a hoof or your forehead to them and draw things out, or create a nook to store things. Didn't use them myself though- never knew when the trees would switch on me and not give anything back.
However, in December- through the snowfall, I found something in one of the trees. Something meaningful to me.
A small arm band from my old uniform lay tucked inside, ripped and burned long ago. It had been rotting in there for who knows how long- hadn't been able to keep track of time at all because of how fickle this place was with time. Daylight could last forever, and then suddenly it could be night- or it could rain for what seemed like several days without really even flooding the 'paradise'.
Hair grew out a bit. Not quite shoulder length, but going to look for a way to cut it. Don't want to run around like some other nameless human faced spooks and trip all over it at some point.
Oddly never ran into the same folks twice, no matter how many times I circled around the looping forest. Nearly drove me out of my mind to not see even one familiar face, but that made it easier to just focus on keeping myself fit. Had a very hard time with boredom. No weapons to reconstruct, no weapons to fire, no training exercises- just practicing the same thing every day hoping my senses wouldn't go dull. January rolled in, and my antlers slowly began to grow back. Shedding tines in and of itself was a strange process, and it forced me to try and practice fighting without them.
Began to get used to the way the forest changed and eventually was on a regular diet of blueberries, mushrooms, any sweet smelling flower I could find (not poppies, freakin' gross) and whatever other edible looking fruits the tress would mysteriously offer every now and then. Frustration at not being able to fish or hunt due to the change in my digestive system. Found a carcass that was fresh and tried digging in, only to find myself gagging and heaving. Meat- my second favorite thing, was a no go. First favorite being potatoes. This place really didn't grow vegetables.
However, in the month of March that changed. My jaw constantly felt sore and I couldn't figure out why until one of my four new canine teeth cut my upper lip. Began teething at literally everything, ripping apart tree bark and branches. Meat actually began to look appetizing. Also grew stalking habits for smaller creatures- tried to avoid anything that didn't look like a small, normal rodent.
Whatever I was in this forest, it was having a hard time deciding what diet I should be on or what I should even be. Didn't really change much further until July, and could start eating both meat an plants. Despite growing in the canines a few months earlier, it wasn't any easier to get my stomach to agree with blood and guts. Spent august hunting quietly if I could. Not exactly easier to network or meet with others if you start eating their buddies.
Eventually came back to the place where I'd met Sir- it had been just about a full year with September beginning. I'd grown accustomed to just knowing what season and month it was, despite having nothing to tell the time. For all I knew, I was guessing- or my body knew better. Impatiently trotted around the place for a bit, scoping it out. Wherever 'Sir' was, he was busy. Didn't exactly miss his hard ass company, just wanted a familiar face. Something I knew.
Decided to hunt out one of the white rabbits hanging around by what the other spooks called "De Drink Pla'ats" and found some scented shrubbery with large leaves to try and hide the smell a little. Traveled back to Sir's old place and dumped the rabbit there.
I better see your face at least once you red eyed old fart.
Throughout the year, had been dealing with strong pains all over my body at random intervals. Jet black veins would spread over the area and in the night, disappear completely. This had resulted in insomnia and panic attacks for several months. Would get some flashes of an old life, old memories.
Managed to get what remained of my old arm band around one of my ankles, for some old sentimental bullshit.
Previously...
May-August
Spend the past two months keeping my body trained through excersize. Learned how to swim properly in the pond and did daily five round laps around the forest, using the trees and the rubble as obstacle courses. Been sticking to eating what the forest offers; berries and pine cones. The flavor gets really old after a while, though. Makes me miss potatoes. As luck seemed to have it, I didn't run into 'Sir' throughout that time. he was probably busy with other things. But I had to admit, I missed Bitey. They were fickle, fun company.
August 2nd-5th, 2016
Had spend yet another day training my body, practicing swimming in the pond and jumping over the gaps. had a shitty time doing it because the frogs and ducks just don't let up with their damnable noise. I could barely spend a few minutes in their without getting a stupid head ache.
I need an alternative. This isn't working."
After drying off and running around the forest for a bit, I saw a very familiar face. [i]How the hell does THAT one always show up? It was the spook with a spotted pelt. They confused the ever loving hell out of me. Couldn't tell what the hell they wanted half of the time. Sat with them in a mushroom circle and they seemed pretty happy using magic on me if I ever fell asleep.
Right back at ya'. We kept this up for a while, until I noticed something. We were slowly being surrounded by other spooks. Some kind of feline creature in armor, and two figures slowly approaching in the distance. Didn't know if these guys were that thing's friend, but I quickly made sure he knew I was leaving and bolted. Not having any of that. I rushed straight back to the pond, no matter how many damn frogs were croaking.
Tux came and sat a short distance away. I was pretty happy to see that cheeky dancer, but he looked kinda down. We talked for a bit and he taught me a dance move called "The Moon Walk". Not so sure about the name, but it did look outta this world. Of course, he'd been doing this for ages and flaunted it.
Maybe someday I'll get good enough to dance with you regularly.
Then when we sat down to rest, he started asking me about hobbies. Oh boy. I feel like I'm having De-ja-Vu. I told him about what I did in my profession, and I could see the look of fear in the guy's eyes. I don't think I'd ever met someone who was afraid of these things... kinda weird. Tried to lighten the mood up a bit, but some images briefly flashed in my head.
Yeah... I know why folks would be afraid. You lose a lot to those... guns. The mood felt pretty much killed. Got up to leave, blaming it on the frogs. And then he said it.
Toots. Guess he figured it out, huh? Did really know how to feel at the moment because I wasn't sure if I'd upset Tux, or he'd bothered me.
The next day, I was doing my laps around the forest and deciding to take a rest int he ruins. it was nice to get my muscles burning. I was about to doze off when some little
goat came up to me. What do you want, kid? And then they headbutted me.
Okay, I see what you're getting at. They coaxed me outta my sleeping spot and tried tussling with me, which wasn't so bad. But I could also see a
large stag and a little spook on the other side of the ruins where they were heading. If I remembered right, that blue bird had told me to avoid families or confrontations with them. So I was keeping my distance. The
kid seemed pretty happy messing with them, so I was about to just sit in the red flowers by a tiny idol when they came back. Seemed they wanted me to participate.
It wasn't so bad, hanging out with them. Lots of headbutting and roughhousing from the kid, with the little spook trying to figure out what or who I was. That large stag seemed pretty okay, but he only rough housed with the goat. After a while, the kid fell asleep and we all sat together. It was kinda nice.
And then suddenly, two other large spooks with two
other little spooks came up to sit with us. Did they know each other? Was this bring your kid to the debris and chill day? Seemed kinda shaky with greeting them and they left pretty quickly. Eventually decided to get my butt up and stop being lazy, giving the stag and his little spook a good-bye.
August 9th, 2016
I was on my usual run through the forest when I ran into a small group of spooks. And I mean SMALL. One that looked like it should have been full grown was the size of a little spook. But beyond that, they were very playful company.
Jumping. Jumping everywhere.
I'd spent a short amount of time with them and they were already into the forest-wide tradition of "BOUNCE UNTIL YOUR LEGS FALL OFF". Not that it was bad, but running was more of my kind of thing. However, while near a hill- we came across some
skull faced spook who was approaching. I wasn't too sure about them so I kept a good distance, but the smaller spooks seemed pretty okay with this guy.
SO after who knows how much jumping, we lost a member and went to find him again. But he didn't seem much for company.
Or maybe he got tired of jumping. Either way, he sat with us for a bit before leaving.
The smallest spook out of them seemed pretty keen on getting close, but that was alright. They were probably just curious. Though, not shortly after the kid fell asleep- boom, they vanished.
...
I was pretty confused, but seeing the other two react to it- this was pretty normal. or well, normal enough for them to laugh about it.
August 16th, 2016
Was making a good round through the forest. Hooves pounding the ground, no frogs or ducks in the distance... at some point I was absentminded enough to run past the giant oak. Bad idea. My head was ringing and I started bumping into
everything. Spooks, trees, rocks, I didn't know where I was anymore. It dissipated just as quickly, but I had somehow found myself int eh company of a small spook. Seemed to like my company, and it gave me a few laughs trying to figure out how to play with me. Decided to indulge it a bit. Found another small spook, as well as
some massive spook with a skull face. I had to admit, the ones that looked like that seemed more natural than the spooks with human faces. Walked around him to size him up before the little spook decided to play. It was pretty fun chasing them around the trees, but it seemed like this spook was a lot more into
chasing than being
chased. Stuck with him because as much as I wanted to leave him with that little spook, every time I went away it'd follow me. Great.
You impressed the kid a bit too much.
Eventually the little spooks left, and trying to follow the big guy just lead to him giving me cues to
get lost. Couldn't really blame him- wasn't quite sure
why I wanted his company either. Let him go and pursued further exercise.
I'd grown kind of exhausted from overdoing is with the running after a long while, and fell asleep near the crying rock near the pond. Though, something splashing int he water woke me up right after. Geeze, no rest for the weary? made my way around the rock to see some kind of
dog spook there. It was probably just thirsty or somethin'. Stayed up on the bank a good distance from it. What was further down the stream definitely caught my attention though.
Ominous, large, dark furred. My gut is telling me to stay the fuck away. Quickly crossed the stream and headed back to the large boulders.
