The stag circles the doe, carefully hiding the deep, unhealed wound on his right side. He feared it would frighten her, like it did most other deer. He usually didn't mind it, but now he kept it hidden.
"Hello, Elyana" he said, taking a step forward "I hope I'm not disturbing you? He, he."
The doe said nothing, just watched him steadily.
"I am deeply fond of you, Elyana..." the stag continued quietly "That is why I've come down to meet you. I've been watching you, Elyana. I truly admire you. You're courage, your bravery. I... I like that. You and I are quite alike, my dear. Both sharing the same twisted fate. We both have wounds from our past..."
The stag side stepped, allowing his deep, long scar to be visible. The doe flinched, but did not look away.
