This is interesting to come across because I was talking to my boyfriend about OOC deer the other day because there are different ways to play them. You can play them with that disconnect of in-game avatar and the player, where you know you're playing a game, but you can also play them as yourself, completely as if you were in the game.
How do you use this character? She seems to be more of an interpretation of yourself, if I understand correctly, but I'm just curious. I've been wondering on how to play my own OOC.

Obviously, they're their own character of course but I can't deny they are connected to me a little bit. I'm still kind of figuring out how to describe her but I would agree with your description- she's an interpretation of me. sorry if any of that is confusing alkdfj

All of my characters have one thing I struggle with (which is why I'm sometimes scared to death about people knowing about my characters and therefore my struggles lol ;; ) but I have to make them abstract enough that I can't identify with them too much and get all teary eyed the moment they so much as stub their toes.
It seems like a challenge to have a character like this! I want to try..

And oo, I can understand where you're coming from. Interesting you should mention the struggle part... because that's actually kind of what this doe is about. The other two characters - Mariposa and Tog- are, for the most part, pretty positive characters. Both have their negatives and faults like any other, but most of the time they're focused on their uplifting aspects and how they overcome these obstacles.
But this ooc/ic character of mine is.. a bit more raw? More focused on being 'stuck' in those struggles, and how it really feels like for me. It's hard to explain (I could write, and probably will write, an essay on these three characters holy shit) but in so many words... Mariposa is who I was, Tog is who I want to be, and "bayleen" is who I think I am/how I see myself (and it so happens that my self-view happens to be more negative, hence she is therapy deer). I could go on to clarify.. talk to me on skype about it lmao.

I wonder what causes the difficulty, because there are so many unpublished authors out there who write exclusively about the adventures of their self-inserts inside of their chosen fandom worlds, and they enjoy it a lot. Perhaps it might have to do with the amount of wish-fulfillment that is then included with the -insert..? I don't know.
Aha yaas, hmu on there whenever, I just usually don't hit people up because it may say "online" but they're actually busy (because there's that glitch with someone else I know on there so there can be miscommunication sometimes).
And yeah, I used to do that a lot-- mostly through roleplay, though (one time I created a version of myself in a harry potter roleplay, so that was oodles of fun actually lol).

Really, the only reason Bayleen has a lot of depth to her is because she is some form/representation of me, so I put a lot of thought into how I want her portrayed, etc.. But that doesn't mean everyone has to do that with their chars. Some of the simplest characters make for the best ones! It's all a matter of preference ^^
