Mmm... Forest

I love the smell of fallen pine needles warmed by the sun and the sounds of birds singing happily overhead. Fills my little fawn heart with joy.

Today was a wonderful day. I ran, I danced, I changed Eli's pelt many times.

I think dancing was my favorite! Smiling

I'm still trying to learn how best to communicate with the other dear. I'm so young and new! I hope they don't find me too cheeky! I wonder if they mind us fawns practicing our forest magic on them?

Perhaps tomorrow I will run as far as I can as fast as I can! I just love to run.

A Day Like Today

I find my mind wanders sometimes. It happens at the oddest times and suddenly I am in another place far from the forest where I have all these duties and responsibilities! It is such a relief to wake up in the forest where all I must do is run and dance and play.

Other deer must think I am crazy though, maybe I am...

First Day

Today I awoke in a meadow. I knew not who or where I was. Of the time before I had only a faint memory, like shadows that cling to the corners when the sun lifts up her head.

As if drawn by some other force I galloped through the tall grasses and the towering trees, roaming on and on until I came to a place where two tall stone statues stood. Moved by their might I bowed low.

I am a deer, I realize, and the thought brings me such joy I rear up and do a little dance. Deer nearby join in. My heart is aglow.

Later, as I explore the forest a great stag approaches me. I am nervous but stand tall, I want to meet new friends here. He nods to me and a great light over comes me and all at once I have candles adorning my head as he has his antlers. I raise my self up in gratitude as her gallops away. Candles, these are much better than plain old flowers... thought the flowers are pretty.

It begins to pour down rain but I do not care, I must run about and play! I dance with many deer, eat mushrooms and nap in a fairy ring. I wake up and am able to turn my friend into a bat. This makes me laugh.

Finally, when I am too tired to go on I find the hollow tree and, reflecting upon my day, I curl up for a good long sleep.
