I went on a field trip with one of my classes this weekend. I just got back, and I'm really sore
.
We went camping in the Talledega National Forest near Mt. Cheaha in Ashland, Alabama. We also went to a garnet beach and a state park called Tannehill.
Garnet Beach:
Wonderful place! There are garnets all over the ground. Believe it or not, the "sand" you see there is actually mica schist rocks! So for an hour we got to collect garnets! I had a lot of fun with this, and made off with...
that many garnets!
High Falls Park:
Campsite -
I thought you guys would get a kick out of that.
My tent
. I forgot to clear the spot I put my tent on so when I went to lay down, I ended up laying on some pinecones
. I had to lift the tent up and pull them out later.
Various Forest Shots (a few of them are "artsy") -
Rock Formation -
Waterfalls -
This was a very steep trail, and on the way down I slipped. Didn't get hurt but my pants now have a big brown stain on them from moss and stuff that I landed on.
Tannehill State Park:
All of these were taken on a big slope that we had to climb up. I only went halfway because my asthema was acting up, so I pulled out the camera and got these.
The lower part of the slope. (The part I climbed)
The upper part of the slope. (The part I didn't climb)
And various forest shots:
Anyway, that's all of the pictures I took. I had a lot of fun on this trip, and hope to visit these places again.
Oh by the way, I got a fawn plushie at the Tannehill Giftstore for a souvineer:
Maybe I'll call it Pent
And just for kicks, here are some grayscaled photos:
Oh, my! Those pictures are
