The doe sat alone, her body quietly rippling, keeping flies off. She wanted to keep the peace like this forever, never breaking inside or beyond it. There was ruffled hiss from her, and she noticed a small doe staring at her. She coughed, embarassed, but stayed there, noticing the fog rolling into the ofrest, and knowing that could only mean one thing.

"The Zombie Daer is here, young one." She pronounced 'deer' with a gaelic accent, carefully making sure she tried to cover it, but failing miserably.

She stood alone, memorized by the changing weather ‘It was never like this back home’ she thought to herself, hoping she didn’t say it out loud. Her ears pricked to what seemed like a slight hiss almost. She had not come across any predators in the forest yet and wasn’t quite sure if there even were any but as her eyes lay upon the creature that it came from, she relaxed. She smiled at the larger doe and hearing her speak took it as an invitation to move closer, which she did.
“That he is and I am so glad. This is my first time being in his presence and he is everything I imagined” she smiled. She continued to look around at the fog. It was harder to see through but it was beautiful.
"What about you?" she asked returning her gaze to the larger doe "Have you seen him before?"

The larger doe scooted over

The larger doe scooted over to make room, her pelt full of dewdrops. "Yessum, but only once bef're. I wish'un he's was here when's I wh'as lass year, near-time to the rut. He wassum a strang'er deer than I 'evur did see! He's.. specuil, that's more'n I can say!" Her body was unaccstomed to the strange coldness of the dewy forest, but she promptly scooted closer to the smaller deer, who seemed better equipped. "Min'ds if I's use'n ya's?" There was discomfort in the larger doe's voice as she sopke these next words. "I'ms Alpha."

She smiled as she lay beside

She smiled as she lay beside the larger doe. Her larger stature meant more warmth. Not the same she gets from the big guys she spends most of her time with, but warmth nonetheless and this time she gets to have a conversation. Something she doesn't get with the guys. As the larger doe began talking, Shadow was taken aback. Never had she heard such a voice before. She had trouble understanding and it could probably be seen on her face, but she figured it out. She became curious about the different talking. 'Is it rude to ask?' she thinks to herself. Who was she kidding? She may not have totally understood everything but she could tell there was discomfort when saying her name.

"Your voice is different than I've heard before. Where is it you come from?" she asks, not ever being able to mind her business.

She waits for an answer before remembering to introduce herself "Oh, my name is Shadow. Nice to meet you Alpha"

"I.. er... I's from the's

"I.. er... I's from the's islands..." The larger doe winced, trying to forget the ugly images that cropped up, the hatred, the runners, the dogs. She scratched one ear, remembering the fateful day she lost her brother. That was over tow years ago, and she still had no idea why they had done it. Or what had done it, really. Her parents had abandoned her during a fire, and she had been left alone ever since, even when she found the forest.

"The Islands?" she repeated

"The Islands?" she repeated looking off into the distance "Gee. I've only ever been here, just outside the borders and... well... home" she adds. 'Home' she thinks as a small smile spreads on her face before she makes it disappear.
"You have family here?" she asks, looking back to Alpha. She could tell something was wrong with the larger doe so she tried another approach
"I don't have family. My mother passed a while ago. She was an older doe when she had me and i never knew my father" she says as if it's nothing.

"I's okay, don't go'n, litt'e

"I's okay, don't go'n, litt'e doe!" Alpha's voice was rather frantic as she looked at the smaller one. She hadn't had any friends up until her mating season, and even then, nothing had come of it. She felt lonely, now that Julian had vanished forever. "I's miss'n 'im." She was talking to herself, an odd habit that wouldn't go away.

She liked the feeling of

She liked the feeling of having a conversation with a doe. She didn't get that with the boys. She was thankful for them though. She always knew she had company when she was in the forest when they were there. She got up to stretch her legs before resting back down

"You miss who?" she asks getting comfortable again.
