On a particularly chilly day in the Endless Forest, something amazing happened. The Twin Gods added a new feature to the Forest - a great tree, shaped only by vines that coiled and wrapped around themselves. The tree was known as the Wirewood Tree, and it became a source for the gods to store and use some of their powers.
Around them, many of the deer gathered to watch the event unfold. Michael and Auriea were fine with the audience, but as soon as a good enough group were present, they made an announcement:
"This tree, unlike the various places we've provided in the Forest, is only meant to be used by us. We ask that you please do not touch this tree, because it can curse you. If you let us do what we need to with the tree, we promise that we will reward you all with a new place in the Endless Forest for you to play and use."
The group understood. They weren't the kind to mess with things the gods didn't want them to. Little by little, the deer broke from the crowd and went their own ways, and soon only a handful remained to watch the Twin Gods do their work.
About midday, Michael and Auriea stopped and looked at the remaining crowd. "We will retire for a few moments. Please make sure that no one touches the tree.", they asked, and soon they vanished before their eyes.
There was a moment of silence then. The deer watched the tree, their minds wandered a little. What was it used for? What would happen to them if they were cursed?
One fawn decided to test the tree. He approached the new structure in front of the crowd, who all at once scolded him and tried to call him back. The little one was too curious about the tree, and before they knew it, he put a hoof on one of the vines.
At first, nothing happened. He looked back at them, "See? The gods were just making it up!", he said. But then, little by little, the vines of the tree unraveled. The deer saw the tree fall to pieces, and within it, a glowing light burst out that enveloped them.
The following stories tell of their experiences. Were they dreaming, or did their tales really come true? That is for you to decide.
Dumb question, but should I have a little 'preview' of some of the ideas I have for this series, or do you guys like surprises? I'm going to try to make each story different (setting it up the way I did gives me a lot of freedom on what to write ) based on random ideas I had.
Again, I apologize that the stories will be short compared to some of the ones I've written lately. I've had a lot of stuff going on with school and real life so I'll do the best I can with this series.
Now that I think of it, I could always write more than 15 stories. That is, if I can COME UP with more stories XD.
I think I have 15 so far (was going to drop one of them because it was too much like some of the others). Might tack on a few more chapters if I choose to do so.
Definitely tracking this~!! 8D Quad, I think this is an absolutely lovely idea and so sweet of you to write stories for other deer like this! I've read them all and I think they're all so unique and very very well-written <333 This whole idea is just so original and I totally love everything xD
Tracking! ^^
have fun with this.
This sounds amazing
