We got more snow today, and because part of the way had rain mixed in, the stuff from last week became "good" again, so there was a nice amount of the white stuff to work with. 8] I had to make a snow-deer before I lost my chance again. Took 1 and 1/2 hours.
Closer shots below. =]


Salty and unwanted pine cone had to be placed there.











Face details were drawn in with a twig. Some staining from a pine cone bit is stuck on his nose from me trying to put a nose on him that way. XD Kind of a successful fail.

At this point in time, his left ear is missing. XD; I didn't expect them to stay on long anyway.
The antlers were also beginning to droop.

I'd try it with our snow as we have TONS of it here, but it's all been thawed/frozen/thawed/frozen/thawed/frozen until it's nothing but one enormous statewide chunk of ice. < .____.; > snowdeer are no good here. >:U

That is so very cool! I made a snowdeer once, years ago, but it wasn't this detailed and realistic.

The old snow had turned into

The old snow had turned into dry powdery stuff so it was useless, but it didn't become a chunk of ice. O.o
My legs started to hurt from how long I was crouching down in the snow, and it started to get hard to feel my fingers and toes. |D Glad I was wearing two pairs of pants.
I wasn't gonna half-ass this though, in case we get no more snow like this for the season. =]

I had to be very careful and

I had to be very careful and gentle building up the neck. I would support it from one side while applying more snow to the other.
The head...I couldn't even build it on the neck itself (I tried, but it kept threatening to fall, so I literally teared it off). I built it separately (sans ears) before putting it on the neck, then applied more snow to blend it with the neck and keep it on. I needed to add more snow to the neck, too, to support it more. Then I built the ears separately, only creating the basic shape, otherwise they'd be too thin. Placed each ear, and supported them with more snow, one at a time. (But that didn't do much good for the one that later fell. XD)

I would've made something else, but my fingers needed to defrost (even with gloves).

i actually tried this yesterday but unfortunetly the snows to fluffy like plus the fact iv only ever played in snow like 3 times in my life doesnt help hehe

The head was the biggest challenge. The muzzle kept wanting to fall apart when I was making it. |D But thanks. =]
