The snow has fallen (poem)

On this day
The snow has fallen
The land has been blanketed
I walk through it, leaving my trail
I see the tree limbs hold small mounds
And watch the birds stare back at me there
And for a moment, I thought I caught a glimpse
Thinking I saw you walking in the distance
And I suddenly feel your warmth flow
You left for me a trail of hoofprints
And I follow it willingly to you
The snow has fallen
For us two

I've been very inspired by the snow while up here visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Georgia. I've been wanting to write something and this is what I came up with.
