A really nostalgic piece, it reminded me of my fawnhood as well, especially Manda's very first day in the Forest.
I was in the Playground area, and the first adult deer I ever saw was one with DotD pelt, real deer mask and peacock antlers. I still remember how the sight of it made me think of something that escaped from Egypt, I don't know why though.
But got to agree with Fly, it felt amazing to be accepted by the adults and just run and moo all day - I couldn't even understand why everyone was sitting or sleeping the whole time, haha.
Thanks so much for bringing all these fond memories back.

Thirding (it'sathing) what the others have said. Even though 'my' fawnhood ended relatively recently, I still find that I miss that original excitement and enthusiasm about... well, everything! Flowers? Instant adrenaline rush! Flowers of a different colour? Oh my God those come in purple too! O_O The first deer I saw, or at least noticed, was an owl-pelted one with peacock antlers. Suffice to say there were more than a few minutes of awed staring before I loped off, fearing I'd intrude xD Ah, the good old days...

@SD - I use Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 6.2.6 on my tablet PC to draw these. Currently the PC is a Surface Pro 2, but hopefully very shortly I will be upgrading to a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga. You can do these just as easily on a drawing tablet, though.
