Within the course of time in this forest he had found several things... love... hate... betrayal... it was many of those things that had forced the giant into his reclusive ways for the past year. Locking away all things that had hurt him, locking away those emotions that had brought him the greatest pain that no weapon... no hoof or antler could ever deal to him. Suffering, it was a word that the blue giant had always felt and always dealt to those who had always managed to get too close... those who had tried to be friend him without his consent, and really anyone who had approached him would often just be met with the silence of a cold hearted creature.
A low snort came out of the giant, slowly making that somewhat long walk from the edge of the pond to the massive rocks in which they would be waiting for him. Had it really been almost five full years since his birth here in this forest? He had lost track of such things, his memories perhaps finally starting to find out with the progress through these years. Of course, several of those deepest, darkest memories had been forced into the darkest pits of his mind to avoid the pain that came with them. Pausing in his walking he craned that skull down, leaning it back and raising one of those hind legs up scratching at the thick flesh that attached itself to the back of that jaw.
Relieving the itch he drew his attention back and began to move again, yes... dark memories of a past that was never to be seen again. A low sigh escaped him... five years... fours deaths and one near death. Two of those deaths came from the sickening emotion that was called love... the thoughts of such a thing got a thick growl from him, and a mighty shake of that head. Those other two times were his body going into a deep hybernation... a death that would result in the mending of his body, a rebirthing as everyone would call it. To die like the pheonix and be reborn from those ashes to come back bigger, better and greater than before. The giant was a beast of evolution, with each death came greater knowledge... with each death came greater power... and with each death came greater resistance to things that hurt him before.
Carefully the blue beast made his way around the rocks... coming to the side that was lowest to him and looking up towards the mossbed in which there were three figures there. Paranormal, ghostly beings... it was no wonder most of the deer that would often frequent these lush grounds had avoided the area over the course of the previous two months. No one wanted to come near a haunted area, where ghosts would chase them away or haunt them until they left. A deep snort came out of him and slowly he brought one of those taloned paws up, claws digging into the rocks as he pulled that still battered and beaten body onto the ledge before walking up near the moss bed in which the three spiritual deer were sitting.
Those crimson orbs in those deep black sockets would stare between the three... falling to the smallest of the entire group. Her... the start of this all... Catrin. Sweet, innocent... young and beautiful. She was leeth, lean and overly frail in that appearance. It was clear that by looking through her once could see just where the giant monster got his coloration and feathers from. Catrin was beautiful, so very beautiful... with that deep navy blue coloration to her pelt... those beautiful and so very innocent golden eyes that matched the galaxy of stars that pelted her fur. While not as beautiful or elaborate as the crown of feathers that her child bore... she held the draping feathers of the peacock at the back of her head. The long, lush tail feathers draping down the back of her nack and gently blooming out to the sides to cradle along her cheek bones, small spikes, brilliant and bright blue at the crown of her head were just before those feathers sprouted.
Crimson orbs would slowly drift to a side... capturing the next spiritual creature there. His brother... his twin... his flesh and blood, everything that was the opposite of him and more. A low snort came from the giants unamused nature, his brother was everything that he was not. Friendly, loving, caring... it was no wonder that there was just such a heavy bitterness between the two. Nightmare never liked his brother, despised him... loathed him ever since the day that they were born. Where he was seen as the Devil, his brother was seen as the Angel... when he was seen as the Darkness... his brother was seen as the Light. And it wasn't shocking that so many would see the other stag like that. A pure white coat, holy as the heavens itself was what he was covered in... thick and long, white silky fur... a sight to behold really. It seemed as though that beautiful fur was gifted to him from the heaven's themselves. Both of the giant stags bore skulls, where Nightmare's as deemed more to look like a monsters with how it evolved to how it was now... his brother's bore a striking resembelance to that of their father.
His brother lacked the beastly appearance of the two however, while Nightmare's held both dragon and some strange creatures qualities wrapped around in it to form it's grizzly appearance. No, it held a regal... elegant sense to it, dragon like... demonic but also holding more deer like qualities than anything else. His brother lacked the feathered plummage that both Catrin and Nightmare shared... instead crowning his head was deep, and crystal white antlers that resembled much like his fathers. Both bore the antlers of those ancient deer that roamed the lands before going extinct... Irish Elks, powerful... prehistoric creatures of the past. Where most would be intimidated... Nightmare just snorted and didn't pay it much mind in the least.
What he was paying attention to, was the large brute that was behind the others... while his brother was roughly his own size, and Catrin was not much bigger than someone of Herla's size... but the brute behind them outsized Nightmare by at least two heads. And it was rare that something, or someone outsized the giant blue monster. This beast was his own father, the one who had soiled the innocence of Catrin and made her commit the ultimate sin by loving something as Demonic and Cruel as him. But deep down inside... Aeron showed a deeper, and less demonic care for the fragile doe. The demonic monster was much like his son, in a way he never held any emotions other than those found in a cruel monster... but yet he did display the things such as care, kindness and even love. Aeron loved his family, loved his mate... and cared deeply for them.
If he didn't he wouldn't be there now, he wouldn't have spent the previous nights walking with his only living son and talking with him. Slowly the demonic beast walked out from behind the two spirits. Unlike them, he was alive... living and breathing much like the son before him. Between Aeron and Catrin it was interesting to wonder just how the blue monsters brother came to be. There was not a sign of white in Catrin... and Aeron was almost completely bone... the only patches of flesh and fur were the entirety of his neck, which was coated with thick and shaggy black fur... and the bottoms of his legs, from the hock and down to the molten blood red hooves. In the past the giant held a more natural head but with years the fur, and remaining flesh had slowly decayed away... leaving the skull as the only thing remaining. A grizzly looking skull, while Nightmare's was smooth with the only sharp edges being on the crowning horns... Aeron's was spiked beyond belief... along the entire bottom jaw... jagged fangs sticking out in sections, it did resemble something draconic but it was hard to place just what it was.
Much like Nightmare's brother... Aeron held a massive rack of antler's resembling the Irish Elks of the past. His however were carved... decorated with deep etchings in the antlers themselves.
As the giant approached, Nightmare took a step back and shifted to a side to watch his father... growling softly for a moment. This was going to end today...
Aeron paused beside Nightmare, head raising up as he looked to the other out of the corner of those voids in that skull... then his attention turned towards the two spirits and a low snort came out of him
"Do as you will..." He muttered, turning away from looking to the two figures... really, this would have to be done and with the things that his son has suffered through the course of this entire time leading up to the day of his birth it was the small bit of help that a father could ever give. Lifting that head up for a moment he dug one of those hooves into the ground before hearing the blue beast beside him roaring out.
Despite the remaining injuries on his body, and the pain that was springing back to life in him... those hind legs would lung the monsters form forward and with one sweeping motion of that massive skull there was a splatter of crimson hitting against the rocks. Crimson glowing formed up from those sockets as the giant swung that skull to a side, casting the shredded frame of the doe down to the ground below. Shaking his head the giant shifted before moving around and slowly sliding down from the top of those rocks, coming down beside the shaking figure. To kill a ghost... to kill a spirit... more so... to kill the one that birthed him... most wouldn't approve of such an disgusting act.
But... this had to end... snorting some, a large cloud of that dreaded black smoke came out of that battered and beaten skull before it lunged down... gripping the small does frame into those jaws and earning hard cries from her... his ears laid back some as the beast shook Catrin's spiritual body ragged. It was violent... it was cruel... it was cold hearted... but there was something in that beasts skull that showed some form of sorrow for what he was doing. Hissing out the blue giant swung his head to a side before letting the spirits form drop onto the ground... while it was likely strange that a spirit could be ripped and torn apart what was normal about Nightmare and his family. Snorting softly, Nightmare lowered that massive skull down and nudged it under the small does chin, a low whine coming out of him before he drew away.
His attention turned to a side as he saw Aeron's form walking beside him... a low growl came from Nightmare before he glanced back up to the moss bed and shifted shaking that head. A heavy breath came out before the giant had lunged forward and rammed into the other figure... earning a sharp shriek from the creature that was his brother. Hissing, those jaws clamped around that thick furred neck and Nightmare slammed the other stag down just inches before the back edge of those rocks. Snarling some the brute shook that skull of his tearing into that flesh, and shredding it apart.
Violent actions weren't held back when it came to his brother, the other had caused him to suffer so much in the past. The blue monster violently shook that head, clawed at the spirits body and was tearing into him without mercy at all... but what came from such violence was his blind response to the sudden bristling of fur... his body slipping away from that thick navy blue coloration to that of purity... the white of his brothers. Shrilling out Nightmare lurched away in agony and shook some growling out as he took a step back. Smoke bellowing out of that skull for a moment as another shriek was emitted from the beast there, the fur slowly fading back to that thick navy after several moments... black liquid dripping down from the fur onto the moss covered rock.
Snorting deeply, a thick cloud of smoke came out from that gaping hold at the front... another roar emitted up from him before that body lunged forward again, slamming right back into the form of his brother as that fur transformed back to a sheer white coating, burning every inch of him... Nightmare hissed out from that pain that came from it before the two forms hit the ground behind the rocks. Roaring out some, the blue beast rolled to his feet... a thick pant coming out of him as he pushed himself up huffing out a breath through one pant.
Shuddering for a moment, the white in that thick blue fur slowly forming back to being that navy blue as he stood there. Nightmare shifted and gritted his teeth before digging those claws into the soft soil of the ground, tension building up in that bleeding body of his. The glow in those thick sockets long gone as that monsterous growl came out of him.
Climbing his way back up onto the rocks Aeron's ears flicked forward some when he heard that screaming roar that came from Nightmare... Catrin's form having vanished from it's resting point on the ground which was nothing but a large pool of crimson blood. The demonic, skeletal stag carefully walked over towards the edge where blood was running off... glancing down to see another splash of the crimson liquid flying up as Nightmare plowing into the form of his brother. Another flick of those ears came as that skull turned to watch... watching his son destroying his brother... snorting some Aeron stomped one hoof on the ground as Nightmare slammed the form of the white brute into the side of the rock before watching as that figure toppled down to the ground
"Hmmm..."
Panting heavily, Nightmare shook his head... the black liquid pouring from his mouth once again as he made his way over to the shaking figure as it was getting up. Lurching forward, those jaws clamped around the blooded up white fur of his brothers neck... and a violent shake followed... the blue beast once again being coated in white fur as he continued the actions. Shaking that head madly before he felt the final struggles stop... tightening his grip for one last shake, Nightmare slung the form down to the ground before collapsing down himself. Panting madly as he laid there before forcing himself up to his feet and slowly stumbling his way around the rocks to the side where he had climbed up before.
Glancing up, Nightmare shifted and took a step forward before hissing deeply... he wasn't going to be able to even climb such a simple step up. Whining out from pain he slumped down laying his head on the edge and just resting. That glowing red orb following the movement of Crimson hooves as they moved past... and then disappeared out of sight. Nightmare sighed deeply and just ignored the presence of his father, who had gone to tend to his brothers demise. But he didn't get to rest that long when he felt shoving against his backside and was being forced to his feet.
"Get up to your spot..." Aeron muttered using one of those massive antlers to give Nightmare the push up onto the rocks. The skeletal stag following and keeping the blue giant braced until he got to that bloodied moss bed, watching as Nightmare collapsed down back into a heap
"You're done... you did well..." Shifting he glanced up for a moment shaking his head, Aeron sighed... the blue beast beside him was likely to be questioned... why was there so much blood around on these rocks? What happened to him? And where was the spirit of his mother? Questions that could be answered later
"Rest..."
Shuddering some, Nightmare hissed out... the holy white of his fur slowly melting away to leave black stained navy blue behind... his breathing far worse than it had been previously. There was not denying that this giant was in an immense amount of pain, but... it was good pain, a pain that let him know he was still alive and was going to recover with time now, that his deeds were done... he had done what he needed. Sent his mother to be at rest... sent her to be at peace in the heavens above... and sent his brother to the same place. They would be at peace now... they wouldn't suffer anymore.
Aeron watched carefully... before slowly walking around... lowering himself down and laying beside the form of his son. Glancing out and watching the hills in the distance... his attention turned to Nightmare, that breathing had him worried but he couldn't do more to help. Lowering that bulky skull down he nudged the side of Nightmare's... a father's care really in the motion
"Happy birthday... my son..." The demonic stag let out before standing to his feet... moving to the side and rearing up, roaring out... a roar that was similar to Nightmare's own... a call, a sign... something that would likely bring those that knew the mighty beast was there
"You have proven those loyalties to me... that you belong here... rest, and grow strong..." Aeron muttered before stepping off the rocks, walking along the soft ground and making his way in the direction of the ruins. Leaving Nightmare, to those that were dearest to him, those that he knew would come to be by the beasts side.
