I'm not sure why this caught my eye, it just kind of did.
I reallyreally like it. I love the detail of the line-work and the subtle cross-hatching around the nose and eyes.
It's lovely! Well done!
@ Lady ~ Gahh, thank you so much~! ♥ It is pen, actually; I tend to sketch better with ink because for some reason I usually make fewer mistakes. XD Thank you so very much! I love doing expressions, so that means a lot...and same with the antlers! ♥ I still have to stare at a reference while I draw them though, or at least for antlers with points. Those can be frustrating! D8
@ Shimmy ~ Aw, thank you so much, hun! ♥ I absolutely love cross-hatching; it's my favorite kind of traditional shading, and so that means a lot~ ;_;
Amazing! Very expressive and distinctive style. Cartoonish, you don't see that often here. I really like it.
What particularly caught my attention is the perspective of the antlers. I wish I knew what I was doing as well as you do haha. Also, the crosshatching on the farther ear, very nice form.
Oh, and the nose-bridge. I really like the broad, flat form.
Thank you so much! ♥ Oh, geez...no, you should see me try to draw pronged antlers, or god forbid, moose antlers! I am so glad that Liam has sleek horns, lol! The perspective still throws me off sometimes, though, but after I redo it several times I kind of get it right. XD; Thanks! I adore cross-hatching; it's so fun~
Mm, yes...I have no idea why, but I love drawing flat noses like that. Plus, I figured that a human nose would probably look strange on him, so I made him more deer-ish than human~ c:
I'm a big fan of more deer-ish faces too, so I approve of Liam's broad nose as well.
And I use tons of reference when drawing pronged antlers too, especially the far antler, the receding perspective always throws me off and I have to look at refs to get it right. Nothing wrong with that!
I love this rough sketch
