Many of the deer in the Endless Forest honored and worshiped the Twin Gods, knowing that they were always protected under their watchful eye. They thought that the Gods' presence would be just as endless as the Forest itself. They waited anxiously for the Autumn to come, so they could once again meet a great zombie whom we call the Big Zombie Deer or BZD. The BZD hated the little deer, and often threatened them if they came close. He longed to be free from his chains, so he could stay on the land for an eternity instead of trapped for months of each year.

Little did anyone know, but the BZD himself was a god deer much like Michael and Auriea, but one of evil intent. The Twin Gods used their forest magic to keep the BZD under control, and he succumbed to their will, letting the little deer cast spells on him that in return transformed their bodies to look like his. They still were living, but had the illusion that they were of the dead like the BZD was.

One musty day, two fawns decided to play a game of tag on Twin Gods' Hill. One of them noticed something strange on the ground. He scratched at it with his little hoof, and found an old tome that was written in a strange language. The little one tilted his head at the artifact, and curiously he and his friend dug it out. The thing was circular like a wheel and looked just as old as the Twin Gods' statues, and the two noticed that it let off a strange glow.

"Let's take it to the Pond and wash it off. Maybe it's just dirty.", one of the fawns suggested. The two tried to lift the heavy stone, but as soon as they were able to get it to move, it began to roll down the hill. They shrieked in horror and tried to stop it, but it was too late - the tome rolled off and crashed into one of the stones of the Birch Forest. The tome shattered, and as the debris lay on the ground, the two heard something else happen nearby.

The Twin Gods' statues began to crumble. They were horrified, running to find their mothers and knowing they had gotten in trouble.

Many other deer came to the hill, all in shock that the statues had fallen apart. As soon as many of them gathered, they started to see their pelts, antlers, and masks wear off. Even the pictograms between their antlers vanished. The Endless Forest was losing its magic, and this caused a great uproar among the now nameless deer there.

Then things got worse, the sky turned black, a thick fog rolled in, and rising from the rubble was the BZD. Now freed from his prison, he unleashed his fury on the helpless deer there. He bit into the first deer he found, Reverend Jelly, and feasted on his side, ripping a chunk of his flesh off. The Reverend suffered and died there, then came back to life as undead deer, and immediately sank his teeth into the next deer. The deer gathered at the hill panicked as one by one they were bitten, the BZD's infection spread quickly. Every stag, fawn, and doe in the Endless Forest suffered this day, all were bitten and chewed on by their fellow deer, and soon became zombies under the rule of the BZD.

With the Endless Forest's magic fading, the zombie deer were able to break free from the seemly 'endless' land, entering into the forests of man, and spreading the zombie infection to every living creature they could find. Their hunger for flesh would never be satisfied, as both human cities and animal habitats perished.

It is too late to run. The zombie deer will be outside of your window soon, coming to trap you and feed on your body just like they had on each other.

May the Twin Gods have mercy on our souls.

First, I am amused that I read this, refreshed, and found that you had added the bit about Reverend Jelly. You get obvious bonus points for that. Laughing out loud

Second, holy crap, two little fawns start the Zombie Apocalypse. I LOVE that. And I like how it begins so innocently and playfully - the end of times starts with a game of tag. One of the key things with making something have impact is to contrast it with something more normal and, in this case, much more pleasant - and you do this very successfully. At the same time, I love the parallel with the game of tag and the spread of the zombie infection. It's a nice touch. Additionally, I like how it spreads past just the Endless Forest, and the stakes are raised across all species.

Very lovely Quad. <3

Yeah sorry, i didn't see the 'bonus point' thing until after I wrote it, and then was afraid that would happen that you would have read it before I included it in, but anyway I was happy to write it. Had that idea stuck in my mind for a long time and just needed the perfect opportunity to write it.
