Interact with Ikoll [open to all]

Hello pals!! I missed Ikoll and tbh I hope you did too.

This is his bio, if you would like to learn a bit about him. I really, really want to get him re-acquainted with the forest, so I figured the easier way to do this would be what I did my first round in TEF and make an open roleplay. Anyways, here's a start!!
__
A light breeze blew through the thick birch forest. It rustled the loose bark and leaves of the tall, almost-eerie white trees. The grass at their feet even waved in a such a way oddly similar to the shore of the Pond. Rabbits and mice skittered about the brush, picking through seeds and morsels for something to eat. Birds hopped from rock to branch, from to and fro, to snatch up worms and bugs from the soft earth. Life was abundant in the birch haven. Though the afternoon wasn't particularly warm, the bright sunlight that pierced through the canopy of leaves created attractive heated spaces for any cold creature. In one of those patches lay one of the coldest creatures of all, Ikoll--or so he thought. "This sucks," he mumbled to himself. "At least in the homeworld I could wear socks or something." With a groan, he rolled himself onto his back and stared up at the clear sky through the opening in the treetops. He had just gotten back to the forest, but with so much different, he was almost too overwhelmed to go see it all--until the weather warmed up, of course. But, as the stag watched the branches rock back and forth, he found himself plagued by insufferable boredom and rolled back over and onto his feet. Time to explore the place he missed so much. With a renewed vigor, Ikoll trotted further along into the white forest, hoping to discover some new faces.

Of course, you can also use discord (Proud#1860) to have a more intimate rp with him or any of my deer--I don't bite. I can make this group or just reply to individuals, whatever.

A new face he'd not find, but

A new face he'd not find, but perhaps an old one would do. She was walking with deliberate caution through the birch woods, careful to reach out her nose and make sure nothing was blocking her path before moving on. Her steps were ginger and silent as a result, and her beige pelt blended in with the tall grasses. The only thing that gave away her presence was the brilliant red crown of feathers that crested the back of her head and the string of curses she'd utter on the rare occasion she did bump into something.
Though for all the forays she made into the birch forest, she never expected to bump into Ikoll- which is exactly what she did. With her head down beneath the grasses as she searched the ground for something, her feathers were hidden from view. And with Ikoll being downwind, she hadn't scented him before they came upon each other- though it'd been so long since they'd seen each other, the buck was but a faint and fond memory.
Her head was to the ground as she sought the scent trails of rabbits, hoping to hunt some to bring back to Medusa and the rest of the family. And so engrossed in this task was she that she didn't notice her old friend trotting by until she ran into his side. Uttering an 'oof!' in surprise, she jerked her head up, ears flicking toward the stranger as she tried to reorient herself. "Sorry!" She said, her feathers a little ruffled in embarrassment. "Didn't mean to knock into you."

So engrossed in his trotting

So engrossed in his trotting about in the sunshine, the stag barely noticed the sounds of careful steps or rustling grass approaching him. He had already assumed that no one else would be around, since he hadn't seen anyone yet. Even less did he expect the object that bumped into him. "Hey!" he exclaimed. "Watch where you're going, Feathers! Wait...feathers?" Ikoll was taken aback. In that particular moment, the breeze caused by the jerking of his head brushed the two feathers tucked behind his ear in front of his face. He refocused his eyes to the crown of feathers before him. A match. He knew these particular feathers. In the next moment, he recognized the voice that had just apologized to him. "You're shitting me," he muttered under his breath to himself, in complete disbelief. There was no way it was her. It'd been so long, and the chances were so low that--"Cydae? Is that you?" A wave of excitement rolled through him. It had to be her.

At being berated by the

At being berated by the stranger for an honest mistake, her ears pinned back against her neck with nervousness, the doe taking a couple steps back. The voice sounded vaguely familiar, but the fear of arising conflict was a bit too strong for her to remember. When she heard the change in his tone of voice, she narrowed her eyes, her ears rising a bit in curiosity. Who was this deer and why did they know her name? "Who's asking?" The doe replied, ready to run should the situation call for it. Her family was more fight than flight, but with her size and impairment she couldn't risk a battle with a stranger of unknown size and stature. "Look, I'm sorry I ran into ya, I wasn't watching where I was going, that's it. I mean nothing against ya and it's really no big deal."
Her mind was going a little too fast for her to keep up. If she'd only taken a moment to relax, the voice would have become clear to the doe, but with the tense air right now she'd need to hear his name for the connections to click.

The Farmboy was taken aback

The Farmboy was taken aback by the agitation that met him. Was he wrong? It sure looked alot like Cydae. Wait a second... Ikoll racked his brain. Did he do something awful before he left? He couldn't remember. Maybe leaving was the bad thing that he did. Was she really that pissed at him? I mean, he knew he was great, but for sure she found other friends. The stag twitched an ear and formulated a response. "Hey, ease up, dragonbreath," he said coolly. "It's me, Ikoll. Didn't forget about me, didja?" Though it could be inappropriate for the situation (when didn't he do something inappropriate for a situation?), he chuckled. Why was she being so threatened by him? After spending the last four years in his home country surrounded by his momma bear of asister and absolute hero insert eyeroll of a brother, he would've killed to see his closest companion again. But, apparently, those feelings weren't mutual. Perhaps he'd come off too strong, a problem this wild extrovert had faced in the past. "Look," he explained, "I'm not upset, Cydae. Ya don't have to apologize to me."

The doe blinked, apparentally

The doe blinked, apparentally stunned by hearing him speak his name. "Ikoll?" She hesitantly reached her head forward, touching the fur of his shoulder with her nose as if he was a ghost that wouldn't be there to touch. "I thought... I-" she didn't know what she thought. That he had died? But his body had never turned up for her and her family to bury at the Ruins. That he'd run off? Up until recently, she had no knowledge of a world outside of the endless forest. Her ears lay gently back against the wilting crown of feathers, her head lowering slightly. "I thought you were gone."

(I do!!) Pain. Like he

(I do!!)

Pain. Like he hadn't felt in years. His golden eyes watched her feathers wilt, and with them his heart sank. Ikoll felt his own betrayal strike him. He had left without a word. Without a note. Nothing. Like a spectre, he'd disappeared without a trace. There was not a single afterthought in his mind to notify Cydae that he had left. For five years he was gone, playing family games back home--watching his sisters kid, being his his brother's wedding, caring for his ill father. All those years and not once had he ever thought: "Maybe I should've told her where I went." What if she spent a long time mourning the death he really didn't have? Or spent nights cold and alone without him? No, that was selfish thinking. She had a family of her own now. At least she turned out fine without him. He was happy knowing that. "Cydae" he sighed. "Cydae, I'm so sorry. I never told you. I-I... I left and I never said goodbye."
