Ideas please!

I'm looking for ideas from the community on how to stop a character from aging - as in they don't grow any older. I've had ideas like the gods making a deal, somehow killing the character in the real world then bringing them back, but I want more ideas - creative ones that I know you guys can think up. o:

Thank you for having the time to read this post. ♥

My first excuse is always "forest magic" lol.
MAYBE THEY FOUND A FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH. OR A SOMETHING-OF-YOUTH.
Or someone cast a curse or spell on them. Or they're just aging very slowly. Or maybe they are undead. Or they lost their spirit somehow and their body can't age without it. Or maybe they're a vampire. Or some other mythical immortal thing. Demigod?
Maybe they can only age under specific circumstances (i.e. in water, or looking at their reflection, or during night..)

Uh.

>u> So there's this species

So there's this species of jellyfish which is immortal.

Seriously.

Some science.

(There are articles about how this may not be entirely verified, but you get the idea.)

Which this is less staying in one state and more creating a loop within the life cycle to extend it, possibly permanently, theoretically a concept like this could be applied to a very specific change, thus making a fairly consistent character over time. Of course, considering the biological basis of this, it's far less feasible for a complex animal like a deer than it is for a jellyfish.

Food for thought though.

A being from a different dimension could theoretically not age if that individual came from a place where time did not exist as it does here. Perhaps there, it is some other force that makes things come and go, not time, and thus being transported here, they are not affected by it.

However, I would suggest they have full access to the fourth dimension (2:46 if you'd like to bypass the first bit) in the sense that they are not bound by the passage of time to perceive space. E.G. They are technically "omniscient" in that they know all things that would happen across all time in their visit, if they would be immune to time's effect while present. This, however, is more than a bit of a stretch.

If I have any more weird ideas, I'll poke you. xD

My character, Tea, was a

My character, Tea, was a permafawn. In the story, she originally made a pact with the gods before she was reborn into the forest. Her greatest wish was to never grow up (she died as a human child). And since she had the power to ask for any wish, that was what she got.

Her story is on her bio if you want to go look Smiling Tea's Bio

Anything is possible in a magical forest ^^

I had an idea to fix that,

I had an idea to fix that, though I don't actually know how well it would work..
But, um, just, whenever the deer would leave the Forest, they would age at a normal rate, but when they'd return, they'd start to unage at the same (or whatever) rate.. and it would just be a kinda ebb and flow sorta thing.. Kinda complicated, but hey.

Thanks guys - these are amazing ideas. 8D
@eyepetals
Uh to you too - these are pretty cool ideas. Thank you!
@Hum
Please do feel free to poke. And these weird ideas are actually interesting. How did you find something of a jellyfish like that? Jings. A different dimension though, could be a plausible explanation. I will mull over this.
@Soli
True about the magical forest bit. x] Perhaps I could tweak around with the gods idea. Thank you.
@WonderfullySarcastic
I follow you - unfortunately, I don't think my character even knows that there is anything other than the endless forest. o_o But it was a good idea. D:

Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!
