[WHOO!] The Priest's eyes

[WHOO!]
The Priest's eyes open to glance curiously at the crow. Though he could not quite understand it, he smiled.
"A friend of yours, Master Bartleby?" He chuckles softly. "I cannot say I know many with crow friends." He sniffs in the direction of the crow, remaining sitting.
GingerNut's picture

The crow just bobs his head

The crow just bobs his head in return. Batleby sighed wearily. "Credit... this is the Priest. Be nice to him, okay?" he really didn't feel like dealing with his avian subject. It took far too much energy. "Ah! the ol' yow issa friend then? Fine..." he looked over at the Priest and made a rather humorous bowing motion with his wings, it was the best he could do.

The Priest nods is head in return. "His name is Credit? What a curious name. It is good to meet you, then, Credit." He smiles.
He hadn't met a crow before.

"I only call him that because he always takes my things and charges double for them later..." Bartleby muttered to himself. "A thousan' pardans' ol' hinny... Ya joost have to be careful nowadays, ya? Neeever know who's who." Credit continued. Bartleby, already a little more than annoyed, whipped his head over and nipped at him. The crow lept off with a rasping call before landing on one of the Priest's antlers.

"Haha, what a bird. Tsk. Oh, you mentioned you own something? I find that curious, as not many here seem to." He tilts his head at the crow, still not understanding, then starts as the crow lands on him.
"Well then." A crow perching on his antlers? Ah, today was certainly an odd day.
GingerNut's picture

Credit ruffled his feathers a

Credit ruffled his feathers a bit and sunk his white beak into them, almost perfectly hiding it, keeping himself silent. Bartleby glared at him at little. He could have at least asked permission! Well... a bird was a bird... and birds were never the types to have any sort of manners. The three were silent for quite some time before Credit perked up again. "W' should go hyem, Master Bartleby, the wee lad is worried aboot ya." ah yes... Bartleby had forgotten all about Turkey. Hmm... Perhaps it was time to go 'hyem'

ocean's picture

The Priest caught the word

The Priest caught the word "hyem", though it was a bit slurred in meaning. However, he could feel the others getting ready to leave. "Are you leaving, Master Bartleby?" The Priest smiles warmly, standing and shaking off his fur.
"I was also thinking of leaving. Unfortunately, I have unattended business to take care of." He nods, looking distant.
"I suppose I shall see you again soon." He dips his head.
GingerNut's picture

Bartleby, for the first time

Bartleby, for the first time in quite a while, smiled an actual, genuine smile. "Yes... I'm afraid I have to go, I have someone I'm taking care of now...." he looked over at the statues. "Hm... I think I understand now... as long as he is around... I can't die yet..." he looked at Credit. "Come on Credit, let's go, okay?" Credit bobbed his head in affirmative and flew back over to Bartleby. "I hope I get to see you again, Priest." he bowed, he had never bowed as a deer before. Credit fluttered his wings in surprise.

Mariposa spotted a small ladybug crawling closer and closer to the water. For fear that it might drown, she stretched out her leg to the ladybug. The small insect wiggled onto her hoof. Then, the gentle-hearted doe moved her hoof to a blade of grass where the harmless creature inched onto the reed of grass that grew at the top-edge of the brook and and then flew away. Mariposa smiled at how such peaceful things can be overlooked.
Then, she turned her attention back to Turkey and lied down in the glistening blue water. "Well, I take very long strides when I run- It's less bumpy and it doesn't take up as much energy. But you do have to have good breath control."

Turkey nodded seriously. He could just feel new knowledge seeping into his brain. It made him feel quite the scholar. He splashed his front hooves in the brook a little, spraying water around, just liking the noise it made. He loved water, he found it quite amusing. He looked up and watched the bug fly off, entranced. He found it quite difficult to speak and observe his surroundings at the same time.

Mariposa watched his every movement intently, loving his enthusiasm. Turkey reminded her of a fawn- the way he asks so many questions and is always happy and cheerful- As well as curious.

The doe looked down at the peaceful water and saw her prince charming in the reflection of the water! Her heart practically leapt right out of her skin. She swirved around and looked up at the elevated land---

But no one was there- just the presence of the wind blowing. No deer.. or anything else. ~Haha...ha stupid me~ she thought sadly. ~I must be going mad...~

The white haired one smiled, only arching a brow for a moment when the small blond began to cough, brushing fingers over his chest as if to sooth him somehow.
"me? do something for someone else? why, never"he stated, voice much too dramatic, clearly kidding.
"maybe I'll go sit on the street corner and write poems about horridly dark depressing things, you said I made it sound poetic" he rolled his eyes, but smiled all the while.

Now Jergens laughed, it was quite rare for him to laugh outright. "Dude, you are hilarious..." he mildly chuckled. He lightly touched Bartleby's cheek. "Hey Faith, you alright?" he didn't sound really concerned. Perhpas it was just routine to him by now. Bartleby just smiled in reply, bringing a hand up to swat his away.

"I think I'll live. Don't give me any of that." he grinned sarcastically.

((might I partake? hmmm,

((might I partake? hmmm, Bartleby I should think, deer if you don't mind, I'll be using my Bleack))

Mounds of blazing flesh, muscle, pulse beneath charred black skin and flesh, great rivers of magma stream from the beast's open orifices, some already made, tears of flame, great plumes from its skulled mouth, sizzling whenever it touches charred strips of skin and muscle that hang from the bleached bone.

Others, fire made, great holes in his sides, in his body itself where the flares leap from, and sizzle down to their demise on the ground below, creatures, insects, rodents, go unharmed by sheer luck of the great beast's lack of will to harm anyone at the moment.

The plants are not so lucky, left in dusty ash where he moves.
A great rumbling, bubbling breath escapes the mass of moving volcano, the sound of something thick and moist collapsing in on itself.

It has seen the blur of pure-snow white, and the glittering gleam of gold, so like its own flames, the great curved horns of molten fire upon its head drip every so often, running in lines down its chest, searing fur and sinew.

Another breath like the bubbling of a beast drowning in its own blood, and a slurred stream of words leaves the blazing mouth;

"I see you"

The state merely smiled, watching the two of them.
it was rather pleasant, to see them together, made him feel rather happy, maybe simply because when faith was happy, he was happy.

How strange to think that, of himself being 'happy' it was such a new thing to him, something he had not felt since his beginnings, and he rather enjoyed being able to feel the bubbling warm emotion once again, eyes swirling in an odd, gentle lavender colour, one rarely seen, a sign of content.

The fawn stopped in his tracks, leaving himself in the open. He had been observing the stag. Oh yes, he had. This stag... it interested him. He stepped forward fearlessly, the solid gold hooves weighing him down.

"As I have been watching you." he said. His voice, how difficult it is to describe! So childish, yet so old. There is a sing-song quality to it, a voice touched, yet untouched by age.

He crept closer to him, fear completely absent. This stag... perhaps it could be the one, oh yes. Perhaps indeed. He let his blood-red eyes stare up into the stag's. He would not, could not intimidate him, but he would present some authority.

GingerNut's picture

Bartleby noticed the color change, but he decided not to comment. Lavender... A pretty color... Did it indicate how he was feeling? If so, was lavender a good color? One would think, as it often makes people happy. Oh well... why not? He was curious.

"Alaska... Are you feeling happy?" he didn't mind asking. After all, how could he offend him? Jergens cocked an eyebrow at this and grinned.

"D'aw, how could no one be happy round you?" he leaned over and brushed his lips against the other's forehead. Bartleby flushed, clearly flustered.

"I hate you..."

"And I love you." Jergens beamed. A usual response.

Rapheal's picture

The great beast looked down

The great beast looked down along its charred and flaming skull to the ivory fawn below, watching the heatwaves his body gave off radiate like soft little illusions of cooling air as they bounced off the small fawn's hooves.

"I do not watch, merely notice" it slurred, such a deep gargling voice, unpleasant, and yet, hypnotic, in the gruesome way one might be intrigued as a drop of blood drains from a needle-prick, or the way the life seeps from one old in age, horrible to observe, impossible to not see.

The flames upon him writhed and snapped, as if living beings within themselves, seeking to devour all they could reach, held back only by the vessel which they ate away at.
The equine-ram's legs folded slowly beneath him, fluid, like the dribbling of sparks to the night sky.

He gave off the vibe of having his eyes closed, though the dark pits which served as eyes from within his skull could never close.
Sonata's picture

"yes, I do think I am" he

"yes, I do think I am" he replied, resisting the urge to giggle as the two bantered back and forth, happy to be a mere spectator to the warmth and emotion the two gave off.

"did they change?" he brushed beneath one of his eyes.
"you may very well learn to read the colours" he smiled, completely at ease for the first time without alchohol in god knew how long.

Rapheal~

The fawn didn't even flinch. He wasn't in the mood for conversation. He was in the mood for buisness.

And this stag looked quite promising for said buisness.

"I'm not here to converse with you." he stated. He watched the flames on him move. It was beautiful and deadly. 'Deadly' was the key word.

"My name is Master Bartleby." the fawn said, for politeness was his virtue. "And I was hoping to ask of a service from you." he leaned even closer to the stag, as if making a point that he did not fear him.

But of course, to fire, the concept of time, of rushing, of being in any sort of hurry was very much unknown, fire, after all, moves at its own pace, consuming, re-birthing, destroying, and creating as it goes.

he rose to his great hooves as the fawn moved closer, taking a few deadly steps back, destroying but more foliage with his movements, it wouldn't be missed.
He did not appreciate others choosing to come to close unless invited.

"I do not grant favours lightly" or rather, rarely did he grant favours at all, what would he get of it? what did he want?

His words are simple, always simple, always short, but always with such meaning that they easily seem to answer all questions in detail.
Its own name is not offered, there is no need, 'you' or 'sir' or 'fire' worked perfectly, names were a creation of humans, not something he needed, though he did in fact own one.

His tail flicked lazily, consuming a young pine sapling in its wake.
The skull faced being doesn't even seem to notice.

Jergens looked at them seriously for the first time. "Whoa... It's like a mood ring on steroids." he watched the colors move about them, a bit more than hypnotized. Seriously, this guy had one surprise after another. What next? Acid for blood?

Bartleby ignored him, as always. "It dosen't seem that hard... Purple... it's relaxing..." he stared up into them, noting how the red seemed to be pushed back. "I'm happy that you feel happy though. It's nice, isn't it?" he smiled up at him, almost pleased with himself.

Bartleby could not help himself but grin. Oh yes, this one might be able to do it, indeed. He noting how the other had steeped back, keeping sure not to approach it anymore than he already did.

"What if it benefitted you?" he asked, the grin still plastered to his face. "Will you not hear me out?" It might very well be worth your while." He lifted a single golden hoof, licking it daintily.

But the question, never

But the question, never ceasing in its infinite dashing through the minds of many to come and many before, was of course; What would fire want?
For fire does not need food, seethes upon contact with water, What does fire seek but the long lonely days that have been laid out before it?

Fire, though often linked with passion, with warmth, is nothing like that, those adjectives for flame are, after all, merely more human-made words, like names, like words at all really but even still.
Fire spits and bubbles, leaking from the hollowed out eye sockets of the creature, yet more billowing forth as its jaws rend open once again to answer the tiny fawn's offer.

"I hear all words spoken within my presence the flowers weep in their deaths, wilting and burning, the grass curling about the charring stems as if embracing them in one last passionate attempt to protect them.

Jergens frowned at this. Secret flirting? Hmm... He would keep an eye out...

"Damn creative is more like it." he grinned at him, then again, what other facial expression did he have? Bartleby, who normally would have snapped his head back at him and bit his head off, but he was already tired to begin with. He only sighed in reply, content.

"You tired, Faith?" there was nothing joking or sarcastic in his question. Bartleby nodded a little, when he felt tired, his body tended to rapidly slow down. Fast.

"A little, yes... I didn't sleep for long did I?" his words were slurred, almost drugged.

Rapheal~

The fawn was nearly shivering with ecstasy. Yes. This was the one. He knew it. He composed himself and stood as tall as he could, which wasn't very tall to begin with...

"I wanted to ask if you could have the pleasure of killing me." he smiled pleasently. If any deer could do the job, it was this walking death machine. He tiltied his head.

"You'll have the pleasure of ripping me to bits. You also have the pleasure of choosing how to go about it. I don't care. I've lived far to long to care." he smiled pleasently. "However you wish. Burn me. Tear me apart. Whatever."

ShadowsOfLight~ Why, of course~ human or deer? And could you start? Sorry xP

The beast flicked an ear,

The beast flicked an ear, sending smouldering bits of rock to the ground.
His head rolled back, upwards to the heavens, great dark billows of soot and dark smoke pouring from his parted jaws, and, while there was no sound to be heard, one could not mistake the fact that he was laughing.

when at last the great ivory skull closed again he looked down at the fawn with bubbling, voids of eyes.
"You assume killing brings me joy" it stated, a slab of flesh burning away from the skull, tattered remnant fluttering away.
It could easily have leaned down, and devoured the fawn but, alas, no, he did not, for, fire is not greedy but, it does not give without taking.

In this way all deals are fair.

clouds of dark ash poured from the beast for but a moment before it passed once again, crackling, growling fires within his eyes locked upon the white fawn before they died down, leaving but emptied pits to forever pour magma once more.

The fawn tilted an eyebrow. "How could I not assume such a thing? I look at everything around you... and I see most is dead?" he smiled. "What effort would it take to exterminate something as small as I?"

He suddenly frowned, a new idea surfacing in his mind. "Unless, of course, I could return the favor in some way." This stag did not frighten him in the least. What could he do to him? Without granting his wish of course.

Dazzling lights glitter

Dazzling lights glitter through the night. A globe of them, small light blue lights dance around a shadowed man. The more the lights glitter, the more that can be seen of him. Golden blonde hair, tanned body, oh so kissable lips that look like they would be ever so soft to the touch. He continues forward through the streets at night. He does not like the dark, so he makes sure that each and every light prevents him from being completely dark in any section of his body. The lights also serve as a warning, he can feel when someone approaches through them. Thus Kylar Lerrielle feels safe wrapped in the lights.

He spies a boy, appearing only slightly older than his own sixteen year old self sitting on the curb, looking all dressed up, yet allowing the dirt of the ground to pollute clothes which generally people wish to keep as clean as possible. As Kylar gets closer he notices that the boy seems to be shivering, and appears as if at any moment he might faint or vomit. Kylar pities the boy, and thus sends him some of the lights, making them warmer so to hopefully make the boy feel a bitter warmer and better.

"Are you alright?" He asks in a kind and friendly scottish accented voice with a reassuring yet worried tone. Kylar sits, on the curb beside him, not bothering abou the dirt, since he is only wearing a pair of old black skinny jeans and a black shirt, that because he feels somewhat warm wrapped in the lights, is open revealing his lean form that has well defined abs.

Bartleby nodded in understanding. Yes, the stag had a right to know.

"I've lived for many... many years. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. I'm not sure at this point." he shook his head, as if it was all just a minor problem. "I killed another deer, so I am cursed. You could say immortal."

"However, I believe that if someone mangles me enough, tears me fully apart, I might be able to let it all end." He was licking at his hooves again. Such a habit...

"That, my dear sir, is where you come in."
