A lone leaf was carried by the wind.
Orange in hue, it lived a beautiful life
As a part of a noble tree.

Descending, it felt the breeze
Carry it to the great pond,
Past the main body and to the Bridge.

There, it landed in a gentle manner
On top of a lily pad
That cradled the traveler and gave it rest.

There I watched as the leaf
Created ripples in the water
That distorted my reflection as I looked over.

And much like the leaf and the lily pad,
I wait for my friend to come,
So I, too, may cradle him at his journey's end.
