Never stop drawing, guys! I don't draw regularly, nor have I ever really gotten into art class, but even I've improved over the years. The second picture isn't perfect, nor is it complete, but I'm more proud of it seeing how much I've learned about art.
Art is all about growing and trying new things, so try not to compare your drawings to somebody else's. Your art is as unique as your hand writing, and you're going to progress in your skills in a way that is completely unlike anybody else.

Definitely stand by all that you said... I especially think it's good to note that someone's older art is just as rad in its own way!! My friend, who is a painter and probably practices a lot more than I do seeing as she wants to be an art major, is always hating on her old art. And though I understand we can be our harshest critics, it's always good to appreciate our older maybe "not-so-good-to-our-standards" art. Just wanted to throw my own 2-cents into this for anyone else reading ^^

It's really cool to see, isn't it? Just looking at the comparison, I'm proud of how much I've learned about making faces look more.. I don't know, believable, I guess is the word I'm looking for..? (Even though I cannot ever decide on her nose shape SOB ;; )
