Down for a Bit...

Everyone knows what it's like to lose a pet, everyone knew when Sunny was taken from me that it really tore me up. Well, things happen... and age catches up to everyone.

My eldest dog passed away earlier today, and it did hit a strong nerve. I knew he was probably going to pass on during the winter time and at least he went peacefully in his sleep.

But as it goes, so many people know that when you have a pet, they are the biggest part of your family. For me, my animal... my pets, are my second family. Their my babies and they always will be. Their the kids I never had... since well I don't have any children of my own.

He lived to a rip old age but it hurts to lose any pet. Young or old. My dogs are also depressed, more so because I guess they just finally realized that Butch isn't in the house or outside anymore.

My cats are a big part of my family. I'm sorry one of your family members had to pass...but I am glad that it was peacefully.
*hug again*

I've always grown up with many pets and I definatly know what it feels like. *sends love* T-T

My 15 year old doberman, Pepper, has been giving me the 'vibe' lately that his days are nearly over, it wil be the saddest day of my life. :<

I know exactly how you feel,

I know exactly how you feel, my old German Shepherd Amber was 14 years old, she had been alive for my entire life, and it was one of the saddest days of my life when she passed away. We had grown up together and she died exactly like Butch, in her sleep one day while I was at school.

Take your time and grieve, I know he was a big part of your family. Let your other dogs comfort you and you comfort them, they feel pain just as you do and you guys need to support each other through this tough time. <3 My deepest sympathies.

I've had many pets in my

I've had many pets in my time, but my Dogs... my Cats... and needless to say my Rats I've had have given me those moments where I would just break down into tears. Odd that I would cry over a rat but my rats were my babies, they were such sweethearts that I couldn't get enough of them. Rats don't live long but spending time with them it's hard not to get attached.

My first dog ever, I got when I was... 4-5, she lived for 15-16 solid years. Polly herself, was a German Shepard/Collie mutt. In the end, she had to be put to sleep because her hips were pulling apart and she could barely walk anymore due to them (She was a FIGHTER, she didn't seem to want to give up!) and thus, we made the better choice for her. The surgery would have been too much and it would have been wasted on a dog so old.

I've still got Foxy (Bird Dog mutt) and Runt (Chow/German/Lab Mutt) and their my life as well as my 5 cats. The funny thing is, I got Foxy from my Cousin who wanted us to take her to the pound. It was LOVE at first sight, Foxy... you see... looks almost 100% like Polly did. The Solid Brown Face, white body... black spots on the back... EVERYTHING! And I just couldn't let her go!

I might end up getting another dog >_>;;;;;;;; but of course, that comes with time. I have to get Runt taken care of because she's got a bad bladder problem that makes her... tinkle in her sleep @@

It's not strange; rats are living creatures. It's easy to get attached.

What sweet dogs. <3 I'm sure they've got a special place somewhere.
