Deer Roleplay! take 2

Adding a new character.
-------------
So, I decided to just go ahead and start a new roleplay blog. Anyone can join in any time (although I would prefer if you ask first anyway). I don't have anything in particular in mind, and plots aren't really my thing. If you're cool with that, feel free to join!

My characters:

Amary -bio-
(For Amary: Anyone would be good, really, although in her current state, someone who isn't going to be bouncing around all over the place and won't be aggressive would be ideal.)

Melinoe -bio-
(For Melinoe: The best kinds of characters to interact with Melinoe are any spirits/ghosts, undead/zombies, demons, or characters with some kind of connection with spirits/the afterlife/etc. If you want someone who will clash with her, almost any other type of character would do, especially deer that are friendly, cheerful, or persistent)

Maera -bio-
(fantasy/humanoid bio)
-also, you may want to check out her reference, since the picture on her bio is no longer completely accurate
(For Maera: any fawn characters would be good, or someone who would fight or spar with her. Any demon-like or vampire character would automatically become an enemy.)

Oisín -bio-
(I decided to open Oisín up to everyone, though I'm not sure what to do with him, or what kinds of characters would be best to interact with him...just about anyone, I suppose, save those with skull masks/faces.)

Andras -bio-
(fantasy/humanoid bio)
(for Andras: I don't really know what kind of character would be best... ^^; someone who is patient or wouldn't mind being flirted with, I guess... or the opposite to create tension |3 )

I can have several scenarios going on at once, and they can even overlap (that is, you can feel free to have one character move from one scenario to another), but I prefer not to have my own characters interact with each other. If any of my characters do end up in the same area at the same time, however, I'll just keep interaction between them to a minimum, because honestly it's kind of awkward for me.

Well, no, not really. -_- It doesn't have to be much. But maybe I should make a separate blog for that? Or maybe we don't even need to do this.

Anyway, give me a moment and I'll type intros for my other characters.

Yes, I could attempt to bring in Lantern. Just be forewarned that he might not actually speak much. x3
I can handle another deer or more if you happen to want me to bring in more. ^^

Ugh, I forgot about this

Ugh, I forgot about this because of being sidetracked. XD

@ocean: I don't mind, really. I just think he could be interesting to have interact with Melinoe. X3 Since their encounter in the forest was brief. Unless you'd rather have him meet someone else. Or if you'd rather not roleplay him, that's fine.
I did wonder about the Priest meeting Maera, because of the half-demon thing. Though I'm sure it probably wouldn't go very well.

I can attempt RPing him. He's fun, so I don't really mind. He just could be hard to do dialogue for.
...No. No it wouldn't. Seems like meetings never go over that well with him anyhow.

Alright. :3 I just have to

Alright. :3 I just have to figure out how to start. X3
I could say the same about Maera, actually, based on previous roleplays with her. X3 She just isn't exactly easy to get along with. Actually, come to think of it, a meeting with her and the Priest would likely turn into a fight. Maybe a more patient character would be better. Although they would have to have a lot of patience. XD

Yes, Laghodessa would be good. :3

Oh, I guess I'll open Oisín for others, though I'm not sure now if I should play him as a fawn or adult. He's an adult in-game now, but I wasn't sure if I should keep playing him as a fawn or not.

Oh well, I guess I should actually type some introductions now. X3

The young doe lay in the

The young doe lay in the cool waters of the pond, resting hear head on a log, her eyes closed though she was not asleep. The water felt soothing against the various wounds covering her body, but it was not the wounds Amary was concerned with. She sighed, trying not to think of the events of the past couple of days, but it was difficult. If only she had a friend to sit with her... thoughts of a certain stag crossed her mind briefly, but really, just about anyone would be welcome.

The split-pelted doe sat in the ruins, as usual, just in front of the pit at the center, having just finished her usual routine of bowing to all the graves, and the idols, paying proper respects to those buried there. Now she simply watched, in case anyone decided to come over and cause some kind of trouble. It was a quiet day so far, but the day was still young. Things could change quite easily, as she was sure they would.

A light-colored doe with dark markings and black hair on her head was wandering around the forest, observing, still trying to get a handle on things. She had been a deer for a few days now. This place didn't seem so bad, really, although she did miss her sword. At least she still had some built-in weapons. Not much had happened since she had found herself in this strange place, but she had a feeling the peace wouldn't last. It rarely did, anyway. Maera found herself heading toward that huge tree, the one that seemed to hum somehow. She had found that she was beginning to like this tree, provided no one else was already there.

((Eh, not much, but it's something... -_- I still don't know what to do with Oisín, though...))

The young stag awoke curled

The young stag awoke curled in front of the twin statues. He stood and stretched, testing out one leg in back. It didn't seem to be bothering him so much today, though the usual stiffness was still there. He looked up at the statues in front of him. They always seemed to remind him of...something, he wasn't sure what. Were there other gods elsewhere, similar to these? "If you truly are gods of this forest," he whispered, "please, help me remember my past." After offering a silent prayer, Oisín turned, gazing out over the forest from his vantage point on top of the hill. He wondered who he might find today.

((I'll at least post for

((I'll at least post for Lantern at the moment; perhaps I'll bring someone else in later))

A flicker of glowing white, followed by a whoosh, was all they ever saw. Well, all he ever let most of them see. Some of them he'd stay around longer than others. It wasn't as if he actually cared; they were just a diversion, something to watch as he waited.

The lucky few who saw the deer were often frightened off by his very appearance. A spiky, cracked mask showed crimson eyes. Wax dripped down his blood red antlers, pooling around the mask. A strange, liquid like mist swirled around his body in slow eddies, lazily, managing to cover the warped, too-long body below. The worst of all, though, was his smile. Constant, jagged...much too big, too dark, it was like a jack-o-lantern's grimace gone awry. That's how he liked to think of it.

The deer paused, looking over the woodlands, eyes flashing madly over them. He was looking for a victim. Or perhaps he wasn't. Perhaps he was just looking for something to do as he waited, waited, waited.

Of course, his own grave was always an interesting reminder of his purpose.

He propelled himself forward with boundless energy, seeming never to run out of it. The "mist" streamed behind him, almost as if it was water flowing in a stream. Several deer looked up as something glowing passed by in the distance, though he did not care for them. Not now, not yet, though they might be interesting to watch, to see what he was missing.

Whoever said ghosts never came out during the day was dead wrong.

Zergarikiaka's picture

On top of a broken segment

On top of a broken segment of erect wall, an unseen spirit stood. Day or night, she was never seen, except by those who tributed the dead. To those who would see her, she was a picture of both strengh and beauty, encompassed in an eternal mist of both the darkest and lightest shades of gray. Threw the gray, two brilliantly glowing eyes - ice blue - could be seen gazing threw a pure white skull, which led to long, beautiful black feathers on the back of her head... each dotted with a single blue 'eye'. Her pelt was similar to that labeled 'day of the dead', though simplified to nothing but skelletal marks. Her hooves had the same vibrant blue glow as her eyes. Physically, she was built like any living doe... though perhaps much larger than those alive today; for she was, in life, an Irish Elk.

Turning her gaze from the heavens, she looked to the ground below. There was the split colored doe... She was often around the ruins, bowing to the graves and standing up for the departed when nessessary. Laghodessa remained where she stood, deciding to let Melinoe stay alone, unless an indication is given that she wanted company. Just as the dead are respected, so shall the dead give respect.

((@Pega: That's fine. |3 You

((@Pega: That's fine. |3

You guys aren't giving me a lot to work with. XD I can't tell where Lantern is, and I'm not sure who I'd rather have interact with him.))

Melinoe's ears perked up as she sensed something...a presence. Not a living deer, but a spirit. They were always there, but this one...this time the sense was stronger. It was the same one that she had actually seen before, this much she could tell without looking. The doe stood, and looked up in the direction she had sensed the spirit. An unusual place. She could probably get up there if she wanted, but didn't particularly feel like it at the moment. Instead, she simply moved closer to where the ghost stood, and bowed in greeting--she would only bow to the non-living--and looked back up, awaiting a reply.

As she made her way towards the great oak, Maera was suddenly knocked back as a white blur collided with her. She spun around to face the source, glaring with coal-black eyes. "Hey, you! What the hell do you think you're doing?! Watch where you're going, you moronic beast!"

Lantern turned swiftly,

Lantern turned swiftly, "mist" swirling to a stop around him. His eyes crinkled in a nasty sort of smirk and his mouth widened into a grin as he stared at the doe. A moment of silence ensued, then he began to speak, the myriad of voices rising to a crescendo before one raspy, deep voice took over.
"One missty, moissty morning, when cloudy wass the weather, I chancced to meet an old man, clothed all in leather. He began to compliment, and I began to grin, How do you do? And how do you do? And how do you do, again?"

He began to circle her, sniffing. Alive, he supposed. He had yet to meet another like him. He stopped again, observing her, wondering whether she was interesting enough to keep his attention.

((now that I'm back I can

((now that I'm back I can post again Laughing out loud ))

Maera arched a brow, only a hint of the confusion she actually felt. This...creature...is freaking nuts... She turned as he circled her, watching him, not taking her eyes off him, a scowl on her face. And what was he doing? Sniffing her? He was much too close...

"Back off, beast," she said, her tone low, warning. She took a step back herself, fighting the temptation to just push him aside. She didn't know what he was capable of, and wasn't even entirely sure what she was capable of in this body. It would probably be better to avoid unnecessary fighting at this point.

((Well Maera may not be an old man, but she does usually wear mostly leather X3 ))

He blinks at the confusion in her eyes, a smirk coming to his twisted face. Confused, she was. Heh, he caused that reaction a lot. Not as good as fear, but it was something.
Suddenly, the switch flicked off in his mind. He simply stared at her, eyes and expression a matching blank.

((Sorry, some sort of brain block. D|))

She blinked at the odd stag.

She blinked at the odd stag. Was that...a children's rhyme? And now he was just staring... Really, what was this thing's problem? It was a bit unnerving, really... Maera always hated being stared at. It made her feel self-conscious, especially as she tended to assume that they stared because of what she is, perhaps hiding their fear or hatred.

She snorted at the stag. "Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to stare?" She shook her head. "Whatever... If I'm going to waste time, there are better ways to do it." With that, she began to walk off, not bothering to wait for a response. There was no point in staying here.

((Alright, I'm adding in my latest deer, Andras, who is a deer version of another one of my fantasy characters, like Maera. He's blind (though he can sense things) and has wings.))

A winged, silver-pelted stag at upon the largest rock in the playground. He was bored. There didn't seem to be anyone around, and it was much too quiet. He hated that. He hated being alone, and he hated being bored. Perhaps he should wander around a bit and see if he could find anyone...

He stood, stretching his legs--it still felt weird having four of them. This was a strange world, to be sure, but that didn't mean he couldn't still have fun here. That is, if there was anyone around.

Perking his ears up, Andras listened for any signs of life, since he couldn't actually see them. There were birds, but they didn't interest him. If he didn't hear anyone nearby, he would have to go looking for someone, anyone.

"Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum! I

"Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum! I ssmell the blood of an Englisshman. Be he 'live, or be he dead, I'll grind hiss boness to make my bread." The deer stepped neatly in front of her, circling now, closer closer, too close. The mad grin on his wide, wide mouth became even wider and he neared, cautiously, slowly, sizing her up. Soon he was right beside the other deer.
"Memento mori." He whispered in her ear, mist floating about his body in eerie eddies and swirls. The voice seemed to change; at first it had been scratchy and deep, a soft hiss, which had suddenly dropped an octave. He grinned and backed off a bit, still sizing her up. She would easily break beneath his hooves.
Revenge was sweet.

I should probably change Amary's location or something, since she's not as badly injured or as depressed anymore, but I suppose she could still be at the pond, anyway.))

Maera took a few steps back...Hadn't he ever heard of personal space? She wouldn't turn away, however, as it would look like she was running away. He was really testing what little patience she had now. There was a time when she would have attacked him just for bumping into her...but she was trying to change that, dammit.

It certainly didn't help that not only was he talking complete nonsense, he was speaking in gibberish now, too. Though, the last part at least sounded like some other language, one she didn't recognize. And, changing his voice, was he trying to scare her or something? Using some cheap trick that doesn't even require magic. It was insulting, really, thinking she would be bothered by something like that.

"You are insane. Do you really think you're going to frighten me like that?" She glowered at him. "I don't have time for this." Well, she didn't have anything she needed to be doing, so that technically wasn't true. "This can be made a whole lot easier--and less painful--for both of us if you just get out of my way."

((hmm, what does "memento mori" mean, anyway? Something about death? And...revenge for what? ^^;
I doubt he could "break" her that easily, she's a lot stronger than she looks, supernaturally strong actually. Though I can downplay that a bit if you prefer. ^^; ))
