Very nice interview! It's great to hear in Lina's words why she chose humanoid faces over deer for the in-game models. Because so many of us play the game and are use to the faces, I think it's very refreshing to take a step back and consider the aesthetic choice of the faces.

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Ahhh I saw this on the updates page on indiegogo! Loved watching it, it's nice to see where the origins of this game come from.

I remember watching that movie, Princess Mononoke, after I had already played TEF and was so shocked when I saw that deer with the "Deer God" mask-look. I had watched it not knowing the inspiration for TEF was taken a lot from that movie, but my brother showed it to me because it reminded him of this game I play so much. Regardless, it made me enjoy the movie much more and the game knowing the significance between each other.

Anyways, this skype call was very nice to watch and see how much she enjoyed created these concepts as well. ♥

I love the human faces very much, and always have. I adore the concept art, how they appear in-game, everything. These human-faced, magical deer have inspired me for years now, and still continue to!
