Fulu awoke with a groan. A miserable groan. Something told her this wouldn't be the best morning of her life. She curled up into a tight ball and tried to go back to sleep. It was too much, her stomach kept her awake. She groaned again.

Zilant awoke rather quickly, knowing his mate wasn't feeling well. "Fulu, is everything alright?"

"No..." she mumbled, and rested her head on the ground. "I feel terrible..."

Zilant thought. "... Maybe you should eat something. You didn't eat too much last night."

Fulu nodded and took a moment to gather herself before standing. She moaned softly and wandered over to a nearby patch of dandilions. She lowered her head shakily and munched away at a few. But soon she shook her head and came back over.

She sat down, "No, I can't eat... I ate a little bit though.."

"Well, I'm sure that'll help."

He was wrong. Soon Fulu leaned her head over the edge and made a horrible noise. Zilant could hear the substance hit the water with much pitying disgust. He knew what that was alright. Fulu returned her head to the ground, her mouth a little messy, and a tear falling down her cheek.

Zilant nuzzled her carefully, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you eat..."

"It's okay, I feel a lot better now that it's over with..."

That was odd, he thought. She seemed just fine yesterday.

It was later in the day, and the two were talking under their willow tree. They looked out at the shiny, glossy water. The lilypads waved about, the fish were gathered around their side of the pond, enjoying a lovely snack that Fulu delivered earlier. That's what started the whole conversation in the first place. Soon it trailed off into other things not having anything to do with the original subject.

They spotted a few fawns not too far away. They were playing in the shallows, shouting and laughing. Fulu smiled, but soon it faded when she saw one of them slip and fall. He started to cry, and a young doe quickly came to the rescue.

Fulu sighed, and nuzzled Zilant. "Someday, that's gonna be me."

Zilant noticed a stag not too far away. He gestured to the stag, "And that'll be me..."

"We'll be a nice little family..."

"It won't be so little if you count your brother's family."

Fulu giggled, "Well, yeah, then the family's huge."

Zilant smiled and leaned his head against hers. "Are you feeling okay?" He suddenly remembered this morning.

Fulu thought for a moment, "Yep. I'm fine."

"Seems a little odd that you were only sick this morning." Something hit him. "You... You don't think..."

Fulu looked at him, "I... don't know..."

Zilant thought for a while. "... We should wait."

"Yeah. We'll wait."

Several days passed, and the same routine seemed to come about. Fulu felt sick every morning, but felt just fine by noon. She soon started asking him for really odd and silly things to eat. And at the most inappropriate times. Zilant thought it was happening, but he wasn't sure.

He found himself at the Playground, looking for a familiar Butterfly stag. He found just the stag he was looking for. "Skokey!" He called, and it was answered by nod and a meet up.

"Hey Zilant, how goes it?"

"It goes... It goes great, actually." He smiled. "I have to ask you something, though... Fulu's been acting really weird, and I'm not sure about what's happening."

Skokey's face seem to brighten a little, but he managed to stay calm. "What's she doing?"

"Well, she gets sick in the morning... I figured that was normal, but... She keeps asking me for the weirdest foods. Just yesterday she asked me for blueberries mixed with walnuts."

Skokey raised an eyebrow with an amused smile. "That is pretty weird."

"She's also going crazy... One minute she yells at me over the tiniest thing, the next minute she's all over me with kisses..."

Skokey laughed, which didn't seem to help Zilant. He soon calmed down and decided to tell him. "Zilant, you better get ready to spend the next several months with this kinda thing."

"Next several... next several months..." Zilant repeated, staring into space. He looked up with a shocked look, "You don't mean.."

"I do." Skokey smiled, preparing himself for anything.

Zilant grew ecstatic, and nuzzled Skokey, thanking him profusely. Skokey bore through it with a grin on his face and told him to get back to Fulu. The blue and white stag stammered and goodbye and raced away to the Pond.

Fulu was kicking a few stones into the water, wondering how long Zilant would be. She heard her name being called, and turned around. She saw the stag running at her at full speed. He stopped in time and screeched to a halt right infront of her.

"Fulu, you're not gonna believe it!"

Fulu smiled, and laughed, "I do believe it!" Zilant looked at her for a moment. "I found Aspen when you looked for Skokey."

"She told you the same thing?"

Fulu nodded. She came over to him and nuzzled him, tears starting to fall down her face.

"Isn't this wonderful?... It's finally happening..."
