"Ya bet I would, gal. Maybe one day you'll wake up like him!" He motions to the body he is occupying. "I can call you whatever I damn well please. You wouldn't dare hurt 'im. And you can't have him. He's all mine." He grins.
"Nngh...He's...gonna....O-okay....I'd...like to see...the gods, Aegle...And then I'll....watch over you...forever....like you did....for me..." His eyes fade and become dull. "A-Aegle...? I can...feel you...but I can't...see you anymore. Goodbye mommy...I love you always...." He lays his head down and his body slackens.

And then it began to snow.

"Still here, doll." He flows from the now slack body, taking a semi-corporeal form. Or was it? "Oh, and don't worry. I'll be sure to bring baby back for ya, sweetheart. I just can't live without seeing you being tortured. After all, he'll have to deal with being dead, and you'll have to watch him suffer. Heheheh. One might say I can't live without him either!" He grins and disappears, leaving behind nothing but his smile, which fades as well. Classic Cheshire cat.

He nods slowly, but certainly. "Yes... The will to remain, even past death... that can keep a deer's spirit on our world... for a very long time... Sometimes those who die... suddenly, and without a chance... to realize they're dead... will continue to live in a specters body... as if alive, believing they are... as well." he states with perfect certainty, as if he had seen such a thing many times. "This especially happens... with fawns... those who are murdered... and those who pass from illness... and other such forms. They go on, sometimes invisible to others... and 'grow up'... as if they were alive... but they are ghosts among the living, unaware of their state in most cases... until someone brings their death to... their attention." he adds, then grunting and shifting a third eye to look at the ruins, those already aimed in the ruin's direction adjusting periodically as if watching such spirits. An attempt of a smile appears on his maw after a moment of thinking. "And yes... I can free spirits... and if you see them... and communicate with them... so can you." He adds. "The trick though... is understanding how they wound up... as they are... and helping them... as they need to be." he adds, falling silent again to listen to further inquiries. Again he still had plenty to say, but to share everything he knew at once... might be too much.

"You-...unh. I-" He suddenly runs off, though not before the other yells back, "Until tomorrow..."

The fawn approaches slowly, stumbling. Once he gets within range of the doe, he calls out trepidly, "Mommy...?" Then, more confidently, he calls out, "Mommy!" He runs over to her, mist streaming out along his body, and nuzzles her. "I-I missed you..."

He shakes near her. "Yeah...He's been hurting me. But he wasn't ready. I beat him, just a little. But he hasn't been happy..." He shakes and stares at the forest floor.
"Memento mori...They all want me dead, mommy."

"You didn't...unh. I don't think you did." He looks down. "I didn't beat him. He's-...still there. I can't...he won't leave. No more..." He stares in shock as her last syllable fades. "W-what...?"
