VAST is a language that's universal in Arvis. One common one for
everyone in the entire world to use. Any languages from Earth are only
used in Influenced areas. Also tbh for the sake of simplicity in RP..
Vast script is, TO PUT IT SIMPLY, made from every previous letter in the word, name, ect.
The shape of one's name says a lot more about them than the name itself.
Examples!
The top is 'soft' script, used for the body of my signature,
'Shardul, Kaiser, Qanat'.
Below is 'sharp' script,
Shardul, Lonno, Miloveki, Kaeltiir, Jacquelyn, Qanat'
There are no religions in Arvis, but there are a shitton of cultures.
Any religions being spoken in my character's updates of are adopted from
bordering world and likely adopted from my HEADUNIVERSE's version of
Earth. Religion in Arvis is used as a powerplay and form of oppression
and control. #ka won't talk about real religion #ka isn't making a point
about real religion #pls i'm jus a babie boy
Higher beings are literally just the most powerful and evolved species
on Arvis which hold a degree of power over specific regions. Like Arvis
equivalent of humans.
Taking on a more 'human' form is another majorly uncommon thing. Entry
into Arvis doesn't change the form of someone from another world. The
world has no power to force people into.. anything. But specific
regions, cities and locals have seals set over them by higher beings*
that do. City limits have seals that force creatures with a high enough
concentration of !sOMethiNG! into weaker more hominid forms to enforce
SOMEThiNG and reduce SOMEthing.
If your character were to be brought into Arvis outside of the sealed
areas, your character would just remain in its true form. w/e that is..
There are no native-born humans in Arvis, but there are a number of species that have visual similarities.
Eyes are the symbol of !SOMETHING!. Eyes are hella important in Arvis.
everything is eyes. illuminati. Which is why blindness/one eye/eye
injuries/scarring/colors are hella important in my characters.
'Earth' imports shit to Arvis, and Arvis to 'Earth'. This explains why
my Influenced city dwelling characters know like... what Superman is,
for example. Or can buy a fuckin caprisun and a snickers for breakfast
while listening to Britney Spears and watching Desperate Housewives of
Atlanta.
If you haven't noticed, a fair deal of my characters have piercings. NOTABLY, dick piercings. :/ Among others..
You may be surprised to know it's not because it think it looks c00l.
Which is also a very valid reason to give your characters something. I
mean I also do think it looks c00l tho.
BUT PIERCINGS, including and often, PRIMARILY, in ~private places~ are a
tradition and a symbol of one thing or another in many Arvis cultures.
Spate, Pig, Rovanen and others have 'em though when taking on an Endless
Forest form, they can choose for their piercings not to show. Like
Lats'vel- he keeps his septum piercing tucked up because it could get
ripped out and he's a hell of a brawler. Even in his human art it's not
really depicted because he's too paranoid to wear it outside of his
home. Same with his BITS piercings. He's also more modest than Spate and
Rov.
Ear stretching is also a common practice and tongue piercings are
considered a sign of a disrespectful being. Opening one's mouth and
displaying their tongue is a HO BOY SOMEONE GONNA FITE.
Hairs on Arvis blooded individuals are hollow in the center and filled
with Seil, which gives them that good ol' ghilbi effect when fearful or
angry.
Hair colors that naturally occur are brown, variations of red, blues,
pinks, low-satuation or pastel greens, blondes, solid whites and
silvers. Purples are largely rare and white 'blazes' are common.
Black is not a naturally occurring hair color in Arvis, under any circumstances.
(this sounds so serious m'cry SIGH) 'Natural' (non dyed) black haired
individuals are overloaded with Seil to the point where it coats each
hair and often gives it the appearance of being longer than it actually
is. When black haired individuals are sapped of all their seil, the
actual hair is left at its default color.
Lucy's for example is a deep blue beneath the seil. Aima's hair is a
medium brown and when sapped of Seil would only come slightly past his
jawline (the entire braid is made of Seil, p much..)
Black haired individuals can often manipulate their hair freely, or if
lacking control like Aima, when the hair isn't weighted down by being
tied in a braid and beads it will often appear to be floating as if the
individual was under water.
A large amount of my characters hailing from Arvis, or possessing Arvis
based souls are afflicted with something or other. Blindness, deafness, the
inability to speak or feel pain, even feel specific emotions. In less severe
cases, a damaged voice, vision impairments, hearing impairments.
Senses or abilities are lost in a large amount of Arvis beings for !reasons!...
Blindness in particular is common enough that most modern cities have
adapted to make life comfortable for those without sight.
There are no Earth related races that naturally occur in Arvis. AKA black,
white, brown, ect..
'Race' is a word used to describe species. Within races, physical attributes,
(facial structure, double eyelids, thicker lips, pigment ect) vary from
region to region though pigment is often dramatically effected by the
environment and season. Hair texture has no correlation to race and
varies depending on individual genetics.
99.9% of living creatures (and some plants) on Arvis are sentient, but sapience is a more complicated matter.
Those who lack all or a portion of their sapience (a genetic factor within Arvis) are often referred to as Void.
Voids are usually born when a sapient race or species (with the equivalent of human intelligence and cognitive abilities) creates a child with a race or species lacking this sapience.
The result is often a child with lower than average recorded IQ, emotional disturbances and severely lowered impulse control. Voids are more susceptible to Torpor during cold months or Brumation during hot months if from extreme climates. Aversions and phobias are more common.
The Void percentage is easily traced through tests and tends to vary based off of chance. Sapience can't be any higher than a parent's, but may fall anywhere between that cap, and fully void.
Majority of higher percentage Voids struggle within modern society. Many wind up addicted to drugs, unable to find work and often turn to crime.
