Bump'd.

Hum.

I am getting used to this blurred forest... Really, it is quite pretty. Everything soft and bright and unfocused, like a dream, or like a memory. Or a painting of a memory. A good memory, mind.
Things are not so bad when I think about them. Walking in a painting? Why, it sounds like a faerytale.

And the water! Why, but I will always say that I am blessed to have such clean water close by. Indeed, I have never tasted such sweet clean water. There was no water as nice as this, even before the floods!
Hum... Perhaps those two gods, sitting atop that hill, always keep the water clean.

The only problem with my vision, I discover, is the difficulty of recognizing other deer... Now I must rely on my ears and nose than my eyes. Hum. A pity. I hope the others do not mind my silliness, bowing in slightly different directions than where the deer actually are...
At least the trees and rocks are nothing to worry about; I can simply walk through them. Lovely!

Hum! I smell a certain scaly, long-tailed stag! Oh, it will be good to see Queze again, it will. I run as fast as I can towards them, for another doe seems to be with him by the smells of it.
Wait...

But... That is not Queze! The scent... is different... all of a sudden. Hum, I am confused! Are my eyes playing tricks on me? But I was sure... I scented Queze...

Greatly disappointed, I stumble away, wondering what exactly had happened.
All of a sudden it is Queze behind me! What is this madness? I am very confused! Is my nose going bad, now, too?
Oh dear. But never mind! This is definitely Queze, now. Unfortunately he has lost his lovely scales and feathers again. Tsk, tsk! See, he laughs sheepishly.

The sweet young doe behind him approaches me and greets me. I sniff her and blink, surprised when she nuzzles me, but smiling and nuzzling in return. What a dear! Her starry fur is very beautiful. Ah, I remember when I was younger, just about her age... She tells me her name is Kaoori. An interesting name, but fitting.

Promptly Kaoori and I begin to cast spells on Queze. Though it takes time and is a tedious job, it is fun. Very fun, even with my horrid eyes.

After a long while Queze ends up accepting a blue and white pelt instead of his scales. But his feathers return, and we are overjoyed, dancing together in celebration atop a large rock.

We are standing on the highest rock, gazing at the view and resting from our antics, when I pause.

What... what is that?
A... A black patch... Up there...
Is it a piece of dust in my eye? Or... an insect? How horrid! I must get it out!
H-hum... I shake my head madly to try and dislodge it, squeezing my eyes and running about.
But it does not move...
I suppose... I must live with that... thing... Perhaps tomorrow it will be gone.
Kaoori and Queze are staring at me worriedly. I cannot explain the problem to them... I just nuzzle them and assure them that everything's all right.
No, not all right!
What a bothersome thing this black patch is.

Another deer comes running up and I, in my current state, am startled and go dashing off... A silly Hat Lady! But really, have they no respect? I am not as young as I used to be! Why, in my day...

It turns out this deer is quite respectful, after all. Hum. I suppose she was just a little over-eager, being so young and sprite!
Agh, but the black thing bothers me so!...

Sadly Queze begins to say his goodbyes, and we nuzzle him in farewell. I watch as he trots to his little place of standing stones. Did he say that is his "altar" before?
That reminds me... I, too, am weary. Must be from all that dashing about! Today was eventful, indeed.
I am sorry, Kaoori. Now you will be alone! Hum, poor dear. But I am so tired...

Hum... I hope this black thing is gone tomorrow...

The loud rush of falling water.
A scream.

"Pardon the confusion and my rather bare appearance, it seems my magics are rather temper-mental as of late...regardless, it was great to see you again, silly little hat lady *grin*, you're always great company!"

THE BLACK SPOT!!! D: *shot*
I hope her sight recovers..or you clean your screen xD lol
My Vista seems to have taken to destroying spelldata, so I can't save or load it anymore...it's sort of nice, not being so hung up with 'sets' and just wearing different stuff. Just telling you so you don't waste so much time trying to get Queze his scales back, since I loose them when I switch deer anyway. Eye

This was BEAUTIFUL. Her whole storyline is. I'm up past my new bedtime and I'm getting all weepy for the hat lady.. I feel so awful for her.
She's so sweet. I love the way you make her speak.. everything. I just.. fff. ;_;
You've made such beautiful characters. The Hat Lady, Clavier.. even Olive, whom I've never met. ;_;
