Large, piercing green eyes scanned the horizon; tracing the hills and watching the peculiar patters of the water flow around the rocks near the bank. Birds landed on the tips of his massive red antlers, only to be shooed off by the sudden boom of his bellow as he called out for her. Then he would listen, then do it again.

He was looking. For her...

The one he had taken an odd liking to, a feeling that he had never felt before. It puzzled him greatly.

His eyes almost glittered as a small figure made it's way to him, her tiny body moving as fast as possible. It was her!

He waited for her to get a tiny bit closer before charging for the last few meters to close the gap before he would nuzzle her longingly and prance around like a fawn.

He studied her figure, as he did with most others. The hind seemed well, and he beamed at her wellness as she beamed about how small she is to his own massive stature.

He led her to his Garden, where he then chased off anyone near so that she may rest with him without disturbance. They spent their time playing around in the Garden, sometimes leaving to go get a drink but then ending up splashing each other 'til both were soaked to the bone.

He then lay down under the willow tree, with her resting up right next to him, feeding him an unseen energy. He felt strong around her, like he had a purpose. He had to protect her. No matter what, he would be there. He would stand by her side, no one else dare touch her.

One rainy day he led her to the old oak. They lay by one another, watching the beauty and magic of the rainfall in serene silence with only the ambient sound to consume their quiet world. He looked at her, watched her as her eyes reflected the world around them. The rain. The grass. Himself.

She looked back at him with a questioning gleam in her gaze. He cleared his throat and, after a little bit of failure of mending words, he finally asked the Question:

"Athena... Will you... Will you please marry me?"
