Last one: "Memory Lapse"

---

Kinsha sighed to himself, idly watching people walk by from where he sat in a tall tree at the park. He was only half-watching them, though, as he kept falling back into thoughts he was trying to avoid. He just couldn't stop thinking about what he remembered from last night.

Kissing...

More of a tentative brushing of lips really, but --

He shook his head, dismissing that line of thought again.

He hadn't been able to look at Tundra after recalling that. It didn't help that everything afterwords was still lost. He'd probably started getting more affected by the alcohol by then.

I might swear off alcohol completely to avoid that happening again. Not like I drink it that often, but still...

So now he was trying to avoid Tundra because of that awkwardness -- the guy had looked concerned about whatever was wrong, too, and he couldn't tell him since it was obvious he didn't remember anything, and he kind of wanted it to stay that way.

...or did he?

...

He shook his head again, looking down at the sketchbook, his pencil still poised above the page like it had been this whole time. But wait... The ninja's brow crinkled in confusion.

When did I start drawing tha--

"Hey, how's the weather up there?"

He jumped, nearly dropping the sketchbook. He recognized the joking voice a second later, looking down to see familiar silver hair framing ice blue eyes.

Toukan.

He blinked, before finding his voice. "Hey." Avoid one reindeer, get found by the other. Just his luck. He was definitely not talking to Touk about this. Not just because he was wondering if he should start questioning his sexuality, but because the reason for that was Toukan's brother for crying out loud!

The smirk the other had slowly fell off his face, being overtaken by a frown for a second. Kinsha prayed he wouldn't ask if something was wrong. Almost like the silver-haired man could read his mind, he stopped scrutinizing the blond so much. "So how are things going?"

...which was...almost as bad as asking if something was wrong. Damn it.

"Alright I guess." Way to go, Kinsha! Give a more unsure answer next time!

Toukan blinked, but seemed to accept that response. He knew how the ninja could be after all. "Tundra settling in alright?"

Thanks for the reminder! "Yea, it's been fine." He really hoped his face wasn't turning red.

The other tilted his head with a questioning look -- "Ok..." -- but didn't pursue the subject further. "Look, I'd stick around longer to chat..." -- He suspected something, Kinsha was sure of it! -- "...but I've already been walking around for awhile, so I should get home. Tell Sui I'll try to drop by more often." He lifted the cane in his hand in a sort of farewell wave before going on his way again.

Kinsha watched him walk off, relieved he didn't get interrogated. It was bound to happen one day, though, so he better figure all of this out by then.

But first, this sketch.

Why the hell was he drawing a dog?

That's what it looked like anyway, since he'd only just begun it apparently. Sometimes it was like his hand had a mind of its own and he started drawing things without realizing it. Idle things from his surroundings. Random animals. Animals that he later realized could represent a friend of his...

That was how that dramatic songbird had come to be. He'd kept drawing it over and over again before realizing who it represented. It was as if his heart had figured out his feelings before he even did.

But this dog...or maybe wolf (he really couldn't tell yet)... he wondered. He hadn't drawn much of the face yet -- more of a vague representation -- and only started on the body. Just a generic shape so far. This would drive him crazy for awhile.

Frowning to himself, he closed the sketchbook, realizing he couldn't stay out here forever. He had to go home sometime...

...and try to avoid any awkward moments.
