Trigger - I'm not exactly sure, I never knew it was fruit-bearing. So it might have been producing fruit but I never knew, or it might be one that doesn't for some reason. Sorry, I know that's a sucky answer...

Well, we've noticed occasionally that they bear these little crab-apple like fruits that, when they are all over the ground, end up smelling horribly. xD
I was just curious about it, since we were trying to figure out if they need fertilization in order to bear the fruit, or if they do it at a regular time.
Ah well, internet research it is! ^^
Edit: Research states that they technically, do not bear fruit! In fact what looks like fruit are the seeds themselves, simply fleshier than normal. And it does take fertilization for them to produce these seeds, so it could simply be that your tree is not in an area where it can receive pollen from other trees.
