A Bare Tree (Poem repost)

I wrote this for Serendipity as a gift for this post of hers, but I wanted to share it with everyone so here ya go.

A bare tree sits alone, her roots covered in snow.
The winter has stripped her of the leaves that hid what she was for the rest of the year.
But as she sighs and dreams of better days,
A cardinal, a robin, a blue jay, and other birds come and sit upon her branches.
And they sing and dance, joyous of the safety and comfort the tree gives them.
The birds in return make the tree beautiful during the winter.
But she was beautiful already, and had nothing to hide.
Beauty can often be overlooked or masked,
but true beauty is expressed with the kindness and generosity of our hearts
