imagine someone on youtube seeing someone play a game about deer in a forest and they hear all these great things about the game and then they download the game and they get to be the deer that person wants to be (once there a adult deer that is)
well what if someone made a youtube channel for the endless forest that tells people about the game or does gameplay videos about the endless forest who think that's a good idea?

TEF is also considered an "art" game, and people also don't seem to understand that games don't always have to have a point or a goal.
Also there's the risk of trolls given TEF being what it is. (Also TEF isn't really Moderated like other games so it's harder to deal with them)

Whenever I try telling others about TEF, they are like “oh it’s stupid and creepy, and has no goal or point”. With all those modern games out there that we have nowadays, it’s really hard finding someone to like TEF. People have the right not to like something, but hating it to that point to go and troll someone in game is beyond rude. Thankfully, I think it doesn’t happen as much anymore, but still I wouldn’t risk presenting it to public by making a video about it. I just love the whole atmosphere this community has, and I think it’s better to take small steps towards reaching our goal. We have waited so long for this remake, we can wait a bit longer too.

Also, I feel the community is plenty big enough and we still get more people continuously without all the advertising. if we get too many, even with the new game engine, the game will severely lag and possibly start crashing. It's hard enough to be on during the rut every September-October.

A traditional gameplay style would not work for tef, that's to admit.
BUUUUUT
I think it would be an interesting thing if it's not really shown as a talking/playing but more as having a scenic 'camera' character wander around tef and record the happenings in the forest or any interesting weather/time changes or if an abio randomly pops up sometime in the future.
It would probably need a pedantic player though to tastefully capture it.
It's a game where you enjoy the athmosphere, music and relax, that's how it should be presented as.
There are plenty of people that like those 'relax' videos with rain, crickets, or whatever more obscure noise people find pleasing. And sometimes some people open tef just for the ambient noise it makes.
It would work. Just gotta show tef as it is, not what some people or the outside majority want it to be.

But seriously guys, being so pedantically overconcerned about negative comments is not healthy.
This literally happens in every game and community and it happens far far worse than the negative comments tef gets.
If it helps introduce new people, more power to us. Even if for each new member there are 100 negative voices. That 1 adition is worth it. The nagativity from people will go as time passes, people forget and move on since it's only momentary. But with that one person joining you may end up with a lifetime friend. I pretty much stand with horselover on this.
It's also very hard to troll in TEF, but it's very easy for people to do stupid/silly things that can be shared despite of it being a 'creepy' game.
Why not do a creepy video haha.

Some people tried the game, but they still didn't like it because it's not their kind of game. You have to understand that you cannot convince everybody.
I don't understand what you are trying to achieve by asking us to spread the word about TEF. As said in one of your posts, we don't really need new members since we're already a big community, but we welcome them if they decide to join. The game is already enough laggy as it is during the Rut and even anytime (especially in the evening (Europe time)) so it's actually a good thing that the community isn't bigger than today.
Now, I get from the way you speak/write and from the lack of ponctuation in your sentences that you are a kid, and even though I promised myself I would stay away from children (don't ask me why, I just can't stand them), I'm still gonna comment and tell you this, in hope that you will understand:
We don't care about what others think of TEF. Nothing is liked by everybody, there will always be people to not like the game, no matter how hard you try. Spreading the word among people who have previously claimed to not like the game won't change anything. I have friends who did not understand the point of the game or never liked it and I never was able to convince them otherwise.
The only thing we can do is to stop caring about what others think, because listening to them will just hurt us even more.
It's not because you enjoy that game that others must as well. There will always be people to dislike or even hate what you like/love. That's how life is. It sucks, yes, but sadly you can't do anything about it because everybody has their own tastes/likings, their own vision of things, their own mentality etc... And you cannot force or always convince people to like or to stop hating on something you love. So you should stop trying and thinking about it, you're just gonna hurt yourself in the process.
Just enjoy the game and play with the people who actually like it.
EDIT: I just wanna point out that I should have stayed away from this thread (for the reason mentioned above) but it still hurts me to see someone pointlessly trying to fight for something that they love but doesn't need be fought for, no matter their age, as they can get hurt because of that. I just felt the need to get it off my chest, my apology.

I mean, it's.. pointless and is not getting anywhere if we try to get someone who doesn't like this game or don't want to play it to get them to play it.
Even i have friends who don't wanna play it, because they see it weird game and i have tried to my best to make them like it and to make them understand this game meaning,
but without any results and i kinda respect that if they don't wanna play it and i don't wanna push them to play it if they don't want to.
It's good to see tho that someone really want to share this beautiful and magical game with the whole internet and would do anything that everyone would play it,
but as it's mentioned, this is already quite big community and there is quite a lot of days when game reaches 50 - 70 players in the game which makes it lag a lot and it may be hard to play for someone to play.
Tho, there is a lot of videos about The Endless Forest in Youtube and artists who draw about this game and share with everyone, so i may tell you that there is peoples who share this game already around the internet and we will see who want to join to play this game and see the interest about this game.

I understand. Just keep in mind that the game and community site is for everyone of all ages. This is Horse’s first day here, so there’s a lot to explore and learn. Although the game is old, the magic is still there, and everything is new and exciting for them. The last thing we want to do is make new members feel unwelcome/discriminated.

I actually found out about TEF through a video that someone did, though I can't remember which, but it definitely was just someone showing their deer playing with others. I was around 10 at the time and was looking for another game to play. Youtube videos can have a good or bad influence on the community and the people who watch them, but recently (in the last few years) a lot of them have been bad - again, like many users have said above me, some people just find the thought of running around as a human-faced deer to be creepy.
I have been playing this game for 8 years now and it still hasn't lost it's magic for me, though.
A youtube channel would be neat, but only for special things like Abiogenesis, where the people who made the game come on and make special effects like fireworks, weather and stuff. They haven't done that in a while because so many people come on to see it and make the game's server run really slow. There's tons of videos like that already though :}
I'm sure that when the game updates and gets a better server for everyone to play on, there will be videos showing what the game looks like and how to play it. More players, too!
