Castor was the first born of his family and grew up in a fairly large herd. It was always his dream to find the perfect mate and start a family of his own; he always wanted his fawns to grow just as he did: in a peaceful place. Unlike most of the deer around him, Castor had a pretty good life despite the fact that his father was exiled form the herd after a disagreement with the lead stag. Yet even without a father figure to support him while growing up, he still developed into a handsome, majestic stag.

As a young adult, he was quite the "ladies' man". Does use to follow him around and flirt with him, hoping to catch his attention. However, Castor never liked it; he wasn't the type of stag who wanted a show-off mate. For awhile, he wondered if he'd ever find the right the doe when he saw Serenity for the first time. She was sitting quietly in the shadow of an oak tree admiring him from afar. He could tell from the way she looked at him that she was interested but was too afraid to approach him. So he approached her.

Over a short period of time, the two fell in love. Though Serenity's father did not approve of Castor. After some debating, Serenity decided to run away with Castor. They got married which was the first stepping stone to the life he always wanted.

Serenity
Meaning: 'tranquility' in English; 'calm' in Latin

Serenity was an only child who lived peacefully with her mother and father. She was apart of a separate herd than Castor but she often saw him running around near the grazing meadow where multiple herds went. She has had a crush on him ever since they were both fawns but conflicts arose whenever they were adults and Castor first approached her. Serenity's father wanted her to marry a strong stag that would one day be a herd leader since he wanted the best for his daughter. He had even arranged a marriage between her and the son of the current leader, even though she opposed of the idea.

She would meet with Castor late a night by sneaking away from the herd. The secret meetings were slowly eating away at Castor; he wanted to be with her forever and he feared the worst if she was ever caught with him. So he proposed the idea of running away. After giving it some though, Serenity departed from her herd to join Castor's.

Freya is Castor's younger sister who is also very close to Serenity. Freya took her father's exile harder than Castor did. When she was younger, she would often cry and was seen as being weak. Castor did what he could to help her become stronger by explaining why their father did what he did. This left Freya with being very compassionate and understanding which is why she and Serenity got along very well. She was the doe that helped Serenity cope with leaving her family behind in the name of love.

Sumati is the mother of Castor and Freya. She has been mourning the lose of her husband ever since he was exiled and fears that Castor's behavior will one day get him into trouble as well. She's been trying to live quietly among the herd but constant conflicts between her and Kreios often arise, causing more hatred between her family and his.

Maia

Maia is a young, single mother who original lived with a separate herd east of Kumiko's herd. She's been trying to cope with the lose of her mate, Rainer, while being strong in order to raise her son, Constant.

She partly blames herself for Rainer's death and feels guilty about Constant having to grow up without a father. She currently seeing a new stag but has doubts as to rather or not he's the one she wants to spend her life with, though due to guilt and depression, she feels like she needs to stay with him or things will never get better.

Constantie, who goes by Constant, is a rambunctious fawn who is obsessed with learning. He likes discovering new things and places. He seems to be handling the lose of his father well and often talks to a star as his way to keep remembering his father.

Silvanus
Meaning: Latin for 'wood'; the Roman god of forests

Silvanus was the prince of the Wayra herd. He was engaged to Serenity through an arranged marriage in order to unite the Wayra herd to the Isi heard. However, the marriage never went through due to Serenity running away with Castor. Since her disappearance, Silvanus had been looking for her.

He eventually left the Wayra and headed west when the humans began to move too close to the herd. This is where he met Maia. Her desperateness to find a mate intrigued him so he has recently 'settled' for her until he found Serenity.
