..I know your gonna get AWL mad at me, but can I offer some critique?
Here it is anyway. >>
I think that the colors and stuff kinda overshadow the way it looks. It doesn't look peaceful. The.. um, Grey-image one just... bugged me. ;| I would work less on the pretty and more on your focal point.
The Crying Idol one is my favorite. All of these are really pretty I believe that the deer on the last picture is the same Stranger as the one on my first screenshots blog I couldnt find their pictogram on the map. I hope you will make more of these. Who is the deer with Rip? I didnt take a picture of them when I made my own screenshot edits because they werent there.
Gosh, these are all simply stunning <3
I love the first one with Kody and Shineri c: The lighting in it gives it a really peaceful atmosphere.
I also like the second last one, the colours give it a rather chilling and creepy feeling.
Thank you for including Kody in your screenshots<3 They are all wonderful c:
woah, Ravyn's is gorgeous. I take it back, these are all gorgeous. ;_; and Vipin's is wonderful too! I love cool colors and I love how green/purple it is. your textures are amaaazing.
SentrySeb-- I don't mind crits at all, in fact I love when I get them!
I didn't really want to achieve a peaceful atmosphere with a lot of these anyway but yeah, I think I get what you're talking about. These were all done just in a few minutes because I wanted to see what I could do impulsively, and I'm a sucker for certain Photoshop-Effects. :B
Mind explaining what exactly bothers you about the grey screenshot? Looking at it again it does feel rather strange composition-wise. But I'd be really really grateful if you would get a bit more in-depth so I can actually improve. What looks wrong, what you would do differently etc etc...
Thank you! ♥
Disorder-- Interesting that you mention this, it's my favourite too, and it's based off of a song.
StarBright-- You two just happened to be standing there. You're welcome and all. :)
SariBearie-- Thank you very much. Glad you like them.
It looks to... sparky? Like the deer is being overshadowed. In most of these, i think a bright glare makes me step back and wonder how you did it, or why? I think it looks kinda flat, adding shadows and less effects would really be all you need.
But, if you want me to go in depth, I won't spare your feelings. ;| So, it wouldn't be a great idea. Watch where the light comes from. The Picto? if not what focal point is yours? Do you want to be spooky? If so, how? How can you achieve this look that YOU want without intimating the viewer with too many colors?
That's what i love seeing someone do. Taking my advice, and using it to prefect their technique. Your colors were kinda all over the place, with no pattern. While rich, they didn't seem authentic.
Disorder-- It just occured to me this morning that I completely ignored your question. :x The deer with Riptail is Quamar's Cutlass. I had so much other things in my head at that moment that I wasn't really there yesterday, so sorry about that.
SentrySeb-- Haha I think we're talking about two completely different methods of screenshot-editing. When doing these kind of edits I don't like to change much from the essential screenshot. I want to keep the Endless Forest itself... "intact" (idk how to describe) and just emphasize on a certain mood. You have valid points about shadows, light source and that stuff but I think that'd be more something for what I did with this for example, where I actually do want to pay attention to those things.
I take your point on colours and mood. I know I like taking the most out of colours, but I could probably take a step back and think more about what I throw them on.
As for this picture, OokamiAzura is pretty much spot on with the television static. I wanted a to create an unreal-looking and "disconnected" atmosphere because that's one of the things I associate with Ravynn.
