- Anything can go really, just if it can effect Jest to the point of serious injury, please inform in a small OOC post before hand so I have time to accept or decline the action.

Thank you ^^

The sound of jingle bells echoed through the trees as a figure approached the stream. Morning sunlight danced over the rippling waters, welcoming the stag with the ram-like horns. He carefully stepped closer, making sure not to fall in, and took a few sips. ". . . ahhhhh." Refreshing, nothing beats a fresh drink of stream water in the morning. Standing upright, the jingle of bells followed and with a step back he leaped over the water. Making it safely to the other side. Jest was in a rather good mood, tail held high and a wide grin upon him cheerful face.
Climbing up the small slop that lead down to the stream, he took in a long breath of air. Filling his lungs. Jest wasn't new to the endless forest, but he was new the part he was in, for the forest was truly endless. Filling his lungs again, this time Jest let out an odd call. Almost like a bellowing bell, flowing over the area around him. Hoping for a reply perhaps? He still wasn't sure. The stag always did things on whim after all.
Eamaya was once again racing
Moments later she heard another noise, this one much deeper and more sonorous. This she was sure was the call of another deer. She slowed slightly, wondering if she should approach. Again the decision was made for her as she came across a large rock and was forced to jump over it or plow into it face first. She cleared it easily and came down hard on all four hooves, digging them into the dirt in order to bring herself to a swift if ungainly stop. And just in time, she looked up to see she'd nearly collided with a positively festive looking deer.
"Uh... hi?" Eamaya replied sheepishly, hoping she wasn't bothering the older deer.
-----
Never done a RP before so... here goes nothing I guess.
The festive stag shook his
With a sign of relief, Jest let out a warm chuckle. "Nice one, but I think I'd only give that landing an eight. Could use a little more finesse, maybe a huge grin and a ta-daah." Golden eyes looked down at the little doe, "And yes, hi. Where are you going that would cause you be in such a hurry little one? Perhaps you're just trying to fly? hehehe" The grinning buck lowered her head down to the other deer, a warm expression on his face. He didn't seemed bothered at all by the little does presents.
So that was the noise, Eamaya
Jest nodded, returning the
"My name is Eamaya." She
"I don't think I've been to this part of the forest before, is there anything to see?" Eamaya's ears lifted with the thought of what adventures could be had in this new place.
Nodding, bells made soft
"What is there not to see? So many trees and bushes, flowers and shrubs. A stream to our left and a hill to our right. To tell the truth, all the forest looks the same . . ." He looked back and forth, then leaned down to her again, his voice grew soft. ". . . yet at night, the whole forest is a brand new place unlike anything you have ever seen. At least, in my opinion." Chuckling, the buck leaped up in the air and kicked his legs back, tapping the tree truck with a nice thud; the bells danced softly. He was a funny thing.
The stag's words gave Eamaya
Eamaya removed herself from her thoughts as Jest leaned down to her again. This time he spoke of the night, and it's ability to transform the familiar into something strange yet wondrous. She was not unfamiliar with the night, it was a time that meant many things to her, held several memories. But his words filled her with her old wanderlust and raised her spirits again. And when he leaped spritely into the air with a solid kick to nearest tree trunk she couldn't help but laugh out loud. She too leaped in the air, mimicking the older deer and pranced around almost wishing she had little bells of her own to let the world know just how happy she was. Instead she giggled again feeling more lighthearted than she had since... well, since ever.
"I want to see everything!" the young doe proclaimed, "I want to see it all! I don't want to miss a thing!"
The buck was glad to see such
Leaning down, the buck quickly nudged the little doe to look back over to the rock she had just lept over a few moments ago. There, under the rock, were shiny swirling rocks stuck to the under belly of the large stone. And surrounding those rocks were a lustful shade of green moss unlike most she probably seen in the direct sunlight. ". . . shhhhh, now watch." If the little one kept silent, the stones would move just so slowly. Little glittering heads pocked out. Sparkling glittering snails? Who would have guessed. And those were only just in-front of them. What else could this forest hold?
Eamaya's ears perked up in
With a look of determination set on her face she leaned forward and stood as still as possible. Soon the snails reappeared as if nothing had happened. Resolutely trying to match their speed Eamaya crept forward slowly she simply had to get a closer look. Though It tried her patience something awful she managed to slowly make her way over to the snails without scaring them again. Now she lowered her nose to them for a better look. She stifled a giggle at the funny little things seeming to feel the air around them with their eyes. One decided then that her nose would be good for climbing on and proceed to do so.
This time her laughter would not be contained, she laughed aloud as she turned back to Jest, "Oh look! I think he likes me! Whoops..." The snail suddenly hid again falling into the grass at her feet.
"Uh oh..." she sniffed around a moment, "Here he is..." She picked up the tiny green shell gingerly in her mouth and placed it back among its friends now hiding once again themselves.
"There we go, no harm done." She laughed sheepishly.
The little fawn seem to find
Moving back, ears perked up high. A gentle breeze caused the bells to dance softly. "So, how old are you anyway? You seem a bit young to be all by yourself. Even if these woods are pretty safe." Jest looked over to her.
"Oh! uh..." The question
"I uh, I don't know...?" She honestly hadn't thought about how old she would be now. In the forest of her birth things like that hadn't mattered or perhaps it was just never thought of. She had begun to notice small changes though. Her legs were starting to get longer, her spots fading almost imperceptibly, adulthood was slowly creeping up on her, and she wasn't sure how much she liked that idea.
Her mood had altered now and her posture showed it, ears and head lowering a bit. At some point she'd stopped thinking of Jest as an adult and started thinking of him as a fawn, a playmate. But other fawns never wondered such things about her. When they mentioned their parents or siblings she would smile and listen but said nothing in return. Just as she could think of nothing more to say now. All she could do was wonder apprehensively what Jest would think of what little she seemed to know about herself.
Jest didn't mind if the young
Jest wasn't someone many knew here in the forest, he spent most of his times awake under the light of the moon. Her watchful gaze was soft and gentle, unlike the beaming glare of the sun. So, he wouldn't be surprised if the only 'friends' he had were the dancing lights. But, then what was he doing out in the day? Something he wasn't sure of yet. "So Miss.Eamaya . . . I must ask you one more thing." He looked down at her, his golden eyes bright. "What do you wish to gain from exploring this forest? After all, you will most likely spend your entire life here anyway . . ." Smiling softly, wondering if she was truly a lover of the undiscovered or just curious about the unknown. There was a difference after all.
Again the buck's question
She opened her mouth to reply but stopped, she'd been about to explain it all away again as her never ending search for something to keep her entertained, but that wasn't really it. She wanted to be honest with the older deer that had shown her some kindness. And if she was being honest then knew she wasn't merely looking for entertainment... she was looking for a distraction.
"I..." she paused again, not sure how to go on, "I'm looking for, meaning" and now the words tumbled from her mind and out into the air with little thought to their arrangement, "I want to know why things are the way they are. I want to know why there's happiness and sadness. Why there is life and death. Why do some die and others live? Why are some always happy and others never are? Where am I? Why was I sent here? Where... where did she go...?" Finally she stopped talking, suddenly feeling like her ever hurt and fear were exposed. Her legs trembled with the urge to run away and find somewhere to hide by herself. She'd learned the hard way that she was better off alone.
Hopping down after asking his
Ears perked, and he looked down at her. The sudden spilling of her reason, all the emotion in it, caught Jest off guard. For someone so young, she really thought so deeply in wanting to understand. Which wasn't bad at all, having a desire to understand is wonderful. Tho, as she began to ask such things that were not always meant to be understood, Jest stared at her. Seeing her begin to tremble, he moved closer to her. "Shhhh, those are wonderful things. You are very smart and one day you will understand and be able to answer some of those question for yourself." If she didn't bolt off, Jest would rest his cheek on her forehead, nuzzling her softly. He didn't know who this she was, but he felt it wasn't his place to ask. She seemed rather upset now. "But right now, you are only beginning. I don't even know the answers to all of those yet. So please, please little miss. Don't be sad. There is so much here to be happy about." A warm grin was given just to her, jingling his bells.
Eamaya was wary of Jest's
She looked up at Jest, realizing for the first time why she was so afraid of adults. She was afraid that they too would disappear. She was terrified of coming to rely on another adult just to be abandoned all over again. But that was unfair, and she shook her head and swallowed back the threat of tears in her eyes. But Jest was right, there were things to be happy about. Had she not learned so much just in the time since meeting Jest? With that and the happy peal of his bells she was able to give him a small smile, sniffling only once.
"Sorry..." She whispered, feeling sheepish and awkward all over again. She reached up to rub at the corner of her eye making sure she hadn't let any tears slip away.
So sorry for the late reply.
Forgive me.

The stag was glad to see little Eamaya was alright now. He wasn't one to enjoy the tears and sadness of others. After all, he had this joy about him. And some felt he rubbed it off onto others close to him. Yet, that was so long ago when he was just a fawn himself. Ones he knew and cared for passed on, leaving the ageless stag alone. Returning back to the little doe, Jest grinned. "Now, let us not let these sad feelings catch up to us. I feel rather thirsty at the moment, and think a good race to the pound would do us both some good." Winking, he lightly nudged her with a leg; slowing prancing towards the direction of the pound. Keeping at a rather slow pace, glaceing back at the doe.
The buck was making a rather silly fool of himself, pouncing at a pitiful pace. A turtle could beat him if there was one around. Yet, the jingling stag acted as if he was going faster then anyone in this forest. "Coming?" he chimed back to her, seeing if she was in the mood for a afternoon run.
No problem, I've been busy
By the way, I hope I don't suck at this too much...
-------------------------------------
Eamaya couldn't help but feel her spirits lighten again at the sight of the prancing stag. "I am kinda thirsty..." she admitted, the last of the stinging in her eyes fading away. Her competitive side getting the best of her at the thought of a race, she cantered forward at a pace only slightly faster than Jest's. She eyed the older deer warily but with amusement, "You can't let me win though." She replied with a grin. She slowed to match his pace as she caught up to him but her legs tingled with anticipation, ready and waiting for the real race to begin.
Good to hear, and you don't
I rather love your style and how much detail you fill your posts with.

"What ever you say little miss." And with a shake of his head, he bounded off away and ahead of the tiny doe. Long strong legs hit the earth with a light thud and he pounced off again. Bells jingling to the beat. For being an adult, Jest was rather young inside, so don't let that aged gaze fool you. He might have been around this forest for years and years, but his inner fawn never died away. But was that a blessing or a curse? Jumping on top of a fallen tree, he called out behind him, "Coming?" The pound was just up ahead. Would he get there first? Or did the little doe have something up her 'sleeves' so to speak. Turning away with a grin, he began to dash for the water.
Good to know. I'm still a bit
------------------------------------------
With a tinkling of bells and pounding of hooves Jest bolted away, trailing music rather than dust. Smile widening Eamaya burst into a full sprint as well. She'd had plenty of practice running in her time in the forest so far but her legs simply weren't as long as his. She focused then on taking faster strides rather than long ones.
She still lagged behind slightly until he paused on a fallen tree to call back to her. He only paused a moment though before bounding down the final stretch to the pond. Thinking fast she hopped onto the log and pushed herself off as hard as she could. She had to swallow to keep her stomach in its proper place as she nearly soared the rest of the way there.
Another rough landing, her hooves gouging deep marks into the soft soil of the bank as she came to a stop. Quickly she looked up to see...
She'd lost, Jest made his last stride to the bank just a nose length ahead of her. Eamaya laughed despite herself, having too much fun to be a sore loser. She had told him not to go easy on her after all.
When Jest's hooves crossed
Eamaya pulled herself free
Filling his need for water,
"Someday, I'll be big too."
After splashing about a moment longer she returned to the bank, where she sat in a sunny patch to dry off. After a short moment of silence the fawn asked, "Jest? What's it like being grown up?"
I just saw you update
- - -
Walking out of the waters of the pound, the stag shook himself off. Water flying everywhere and bells filling the air with their voices. Being a grown up? He thought to himself, softly chewing his lower golden lip. "Well . . . it's like not being a grown up . . . only taller." He chuckled, walking over to rest under a willow that stood beside the pound. "But yes, there isn't really a difference, only you are bigger and have been around a little bit longer. What makes you grown up is what you have experienced in life." He nodded. That sounded about right. He motioned to the open spots under the tree. After a long run and long drink, it was a good time to just relax. Plus. Jest enjoyed listening to the music of the pound.
Thanks! My drawing feels a
It is a bit odd. XD Meeting Jest has worked out nicely for her character development though. I had planned for her to learn to slow down and be more observant, but it's cool to have a personal experience to base that off of.
------------------------------------
Feeling sufficiently dry, Eamaya followed Jest to the shadier spot under the tree, contemplating his answer on the way. As she settled down she nodded to herself, deciding that his answer was a good one. After all their romping and playing that day she was, for once, happy to just sit still. She leaned her head back and just listened to the rippling of the stream that fed into the little pond. For once, she was also out of questions. It was nice to just sit in the quiet for the time being.
Hey, do you think they should

The stag rested, golden eyes shut for a moment and taking in slow long breaths. Not moving, a gentle breeze pushed past the too. Causing the arms of the tree to dance and the bells to sing. Jest grinned, and looked down at the resting Eamaya. It had been awhile since Jest made a friend, after all. Most of the ones he had made a long gone by now. The song of the pond and forest around them kept the silence away and the stag laid his head down, resting them on his hooves. Glad that the growing doe would be happier now. He could feel her uneasiness about something, but he hoped what he told her would help her understand a little better about life.
Yeah, I was definitely
-----------------------------------
The myriad sounds of the forest became a sort of lullaby Eamaya. Mimicking Jest she laid her head down on her hooves as well, but didn't close her eyes just yet. It had been a big day for her, and a very good one, she decided drowsily, letting a small yawn escape. One thing felt off though, something was missing. It took her a moment to realize what it was. She wasn't... lonely anymore. It wasn't until that moment that she realized it, but she'd been lonely for a long time. Long enough for the absence of that feeling to seem abnormal to her.
But today she'd made her first friend, and as her eyes fluttered closed she decided that this too was a good thing.
This was such a lovely rp,
Eamaya is such a lovely little doe.
^^
Thanks so much, Jest is a
Thanks, for bearing with me also, I was kinda nervous, never done anything like that. It was really fun though (hence all the new ones I've got spamming the board these days... XD)
So how do you want to set up their reunion, so to speak? Here, on a bio, new blog? And who do you think should start it?
Your not spamming, don't
I like the one you have going with Jack. c:
And it's up to you. If you want, we can start another blog just for the two of them you could start if you wish. I think it would be interesting to see how Eamaya reacts to Jest not looking a day older.
^^
Jack's an interesting one,
I feel like she's starting to take Bullfinch's Tale under her wing the same way Jest did for her, it's so cute seeing it all come full circle.
I'll start a new one then like the others here soon.
c: Alright, weeeeeeee
Alright, weeeeeeee
